The paper presents the preparation and investigations of zirconium oxide (ZrO2) nanoparticles that were synthesized by hydrothermal method. The products were characterized by means of powder X-ray diffraction, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), UV-absorption spectroscopy and photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopy. The crystal structure was determined using X-ray diffraction. The morphology and the particle size were studied using (SEM) and (TEM). The spherical shaped particles were confirmed through the SEM analysis. The transmission electron microscopic analysis confirmed the formation of the nanoparticles with the particle size. The FT-IR and Raman spectrum ascertained the strong presence of ZrO2 nanoparticles. The optical properties were obtained from UV–visible absorption spectrum and also PL emission spectrum. The dielectric constant and the dielectric loss were measured as a function of frequency and temperature.  相似文献

This paper presents the details of a simulation study carried out for analyzing the impact of scheduling rules that control part launching and tool request selection decisions of a flexible manufacturing system (FMS) operating under tool movement along with part movement policy. Two different scenarios have been investigated with respect to the operation of FMS. In scenario 1, the facilities such as machines, tool transporter and part transporter are assumed to be continuously available without breakdowns, whereas in scenario 2, these facilities are prone to failures. For each of these scenarios, a discrete-event simulation model is developed for the purpose of experimentation. A number of scheduling rules are incorporated in the simulation models for the part launching and tool request selection decisions. The performance measures evaluated are mean flow time, mean tardiness, mean waiting time for tool and percentage of tardy parts. The results obtained through the simulation have been statistically analyzed. The best possible scheduling rule combinations for part launching and tool request selection have been identified for the chosen FMS.  相似文献

In parallel to the changes in both the architecture domain–the move toward chip multiprocessors (CMPs)–and the application domain–the move toward increasingly data-intensive workloads–issues such as performance, energy efficiency and CPU availability are becoming increasingly critical. The CPU availability can change dynamically due to several reasons such as thermal overload, increase in transient errors, or operating system scheduling. An important question in this context is how to adapt, in a CMP, the execution of a given application to CPU availability change at runtime. Our paper studies this problem, targeting the energy-delay product (EDP) as the main metric to optimize. We first discuss that, in adapting the application execution to the varying CPU availability, one needs to consider the number of CPUs to use, the number of application threads to accommodate and the voltage/frequency levels to employ (if the CMP has this capability). We then propose to use helper threads to adapt the application execution to CPU availability change in general with the goal of minimizing the EDP. The helper thread runs parallel to the application execution threads and tries to determine the ideal number of CPUs, threads and voltage/frequency levels to employ at any given point in execution. We illustrate this idea using four applications (Fast Fourier Transform, MultiGrid, LU decomposition and Conjugate Gradient) under different execution scenarios. The results collected through our experiments are very promising and indicate that significant EDP reductions are possible using helper threads. For example, we achieved up to 66.3%, 83.3%, 91.2%, and 94.2% savings in EDP when adjusting all the parameters properly in applications FFT, MG, LU, and CG, respectively. We also discuss how our approach can be extended to address multi-programmed workloads.  相似文献

Although fuzzy/adaptive sliding mode control can reduce the chattering problem in structural vibration control applications, they require the equivalent control and the upper bounds of the system uncertainties. In this paper, we used fuzzy logic to approximate the standard sliding surface and designed a dead-zone adaptive law for tuning the switching gain of the sliding mode control. The stability of the proposed controller is established using Lyapunov stability theory. A six-storey building prototype equipped with an active mass damper has been used to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed controller towards the wind-induced vibrations.  相似文献

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) has recently emerged as a nature-inspired algorithm for real parameter optimization. This article describes a method for improving the final accuracy and the convergence speed of PSO by firstly adding a new coefficient (called mobility factor) to the position updating equation and secondly modulating the inertia weight according to the distance between a particle and the globally best position found so far. The two-fold modification tries to balance between the explorative and exploitative tendencies of the swarm with an objective of achieving better search performance. We also mathematically analyze the effect of the modifications on the dynamics of the PSO algorithm. The new algorithm has been shown to be statistically significantly better than the basic PSO and four of its state-of-the-art variants on a twelve-function test-suite in terms of speed, accuracy, and robustness.  相似文献

Nanocrystalline lanthanum strontium manganite (LSM) powder has been synthesized by combustion of a transparent gel obtained by the polymerization of methylol urea and urea in a solution containing La3+, Sr2+, and Mn2+ (LSM ions). Chemistry of the transparent urea–formaldehyde (UF) polymer gel formation and structure of the gel have been proposed such that the LSM ions act in between the growing UF polymer chains by interacting through NH, OH, and CO groups by co-ordination and prevent polymer self-assembly through inter-chain hydrogen bonding as evidenced from infrared spectrum. Thermally stable structures formed by the decomposition of UF polymer below 300°C undergo combustion in the presence of nitrate oxidant in a temperature range from 350°–450°C. A perovskite LSM phase has been formed by self-sustained combustion of the dried gel initiated with little kerosene. The powder obtained after deagglomeration and calcination at 600°C for 2 h has a D 50 value of 0.19 μm, and the particles are aggregates of crystallites 10–25 nm in size.  相似文献

In this paper, the design of a deadlock avoidance controller is described. The uncontrolled system is modeled using colored Petri nets. The system controller is based on a restrictive (not maximally permissive) deadlock avoidance policy to resolve deadlocks and control the real-time resource allocation decisions in the system. Performance evaluation of systems controlled by not maximally permissive algorithms is essential in determining the applicability and effectiveness of the control algorithms. The performance of the controlled system is compared with performance of optimal control policies to quantify the effects of the restrictiveness of the deadlock avoidance policy on system performance.  相似文献
