This paper refers to the principal realities, although disguised for obvious reasons, which the oil companies have to face if they intend to promote gas initiatives. The key factors in selling natural gas are mainly the market and the fiscal terms. They are both conditions of competitiveness. The following analysis considers the latter form of competitiveness and makes an attempt to quantify it. Although the scenario considered in this paper does not contemplate the steep fall in oil prices in 1986, it is still valid for its principal purpose. The aim of the study is a methodological procedure which enables one to select the variables and define the interrelationship in the hydrocarbons sector. The structure of the paper follows the decision-making process of analysing a resource allocation problem by seeking to identify the variables involved. The variables are expressed by a number to which an absolute value is not attributed, but rather a relative one in the definition of the problem terms. The final proposal of a model with different rules does not appear to be too utopian if the rules of the game are followed in order to seek both stability and flexibility in the response which each operator seeks to obtain in this sector.  相似文献

Thermo‐mechanical degradation of LDPE‐based nanocomposites was studied by mainly investigating the rheological properties. For all of the investigated processing conditions, the viscosity of the nanocomposites was higher than that of the pure‐LDPE matrix, but on increasing the severity of the mixing conditions, the difference between the viscosity of the nano‐filled polymer and that of the pure LDPE decreased. The X‐ray traces of the nanocomposites suggest that intercalation has been achieved during the melt, when less‐severe processing conditions were used. At severe processing conditions (longer mixing time, high temperature and shear stress) the thermo‐mechanical degradation was accelerated, possibly due to the loss of mass from the organoclay galleries. The variations of the viscosity in the presence of two organo‐modified montmorillonite (MMt) clays were compared to the ones observed with a MMt clay at different processing conditions.

Rh(1%)@CexZr1−xO2–Al2O3 nanocomposites have been investigated as active and thermally stable catalysts for ethanol steam reforming. Preformed Rh nanoparticles have been efficiently protected from deactivation/sintering by a porous layer of nanocomposite oxides. Chemisorption and activity data confirm the good accessibility of the metal phase to the reaction mixture. No appreciable deactivation is observed after 160 h of reaction at 873 K. The ceria–zirconia mixed oxides favour reforming reactions, reduce coke formation and facilitate its removal. The alumina component is important to stabilize the ceria–zirconia mixed oxides, preventing their sintering.  相似文献

Selective MMP inhibitors : Eleven α‐sulfonylphosphonates were synthesized and tested as MMP inhibitors. The IC50 values for most of them are in the nanomolar range against MMP‐2, ‐8, ‐13, and ‐14, with an interesting selectivity profile versus MMP‐9.

The tau protein, a soluble protein associated with microtubules, which is involved in the assembly and stabilization of cytoskeletal elements, was found to form neurofibrillary tangles in different neurodegenerative diseases. Insoluble tau aggregates were observed to be organized in paired helical filaments (PHFs) and straight filaments (SFs). Recently, two small sequences (306–311 and 275–280) in the microtubule-binding region (MTBR), named PHF6 and PHF6*, respectively, were found to be essential for tau aggregation. Since a possible therapeutic approach consists of impairing amyloid formation either by stabilizing the native proteins or reducing the level of amyloid precursors, here we use synchrotron radiation circular dichroism (SRCD) at Diamond B23 beamline to evaluate the inhibitory effects of two small molecules, trehalose and ceftriaxone, against the aggregation of a small peptide containing the PHF6* sequence. Our results indicate that both these molecules, ceftriaxone and trehalose, increased the stability of the peptide toward aggregation, in particular that induced by heparin. With trehalose being present in many fruits, vegetables, algae and processed foods, these results support the need to investigate whether a diet richer in trehalose might exert a protective effect toward pathologies linked to protein misfolding.  相似文献

Glutamate synthase (GOGAT) and glutamine synthetase play a crucial role in ammonium assimilation and glutamate biosynthesis in the yeast Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The GOGAT enzyme has been purified and the GOGAT structural gene (GLT1) has been cloned, showing that this enzyme is a homotrimeric protein with a monomeric size of 199kDa. We report the GLT1 nucleotide sequence and the amino acid sequence of its deduced protein product. Our results show that there is a high conservation with the corresponding genes of Escherichia coli, Medicago sativa (alfalfa) and Zea mais (maize). Binding domains for glutamine, cofactors (FMN and NADH) and the cysteine clusters (which comprise the iron-sulfur centres) were tentatively identified on the basis of sequence comparison with GOGAT sequences from E. coli, alfalfa and maize. Carbon/epoxy square tubes and channel sections have been used in modern automotive and aircraft structures, respectively, as dedicated components designed to dissipate energy under controlled collapse. However, there are currently no specialized test methods for the characterization of Specific Energy Absorption (SEA) of composite materials. A systematic experimental investigation is conducted to evaluate the effect of geometric features on crush behavior. From a square tube, individual test segments are machined in order to isolate corner radii and flat sections of varying sizes, for a total of five different test geometries. Laminate thickness, material system, manufacturing process, and test methodology are kept constant throughout the study. For the material system and lay-up considered in this study, fiber tensile fracture and tearing at the corners is responsible for the vast percentage of the energy absorbed, while frond formation and splaying of the flat segments is responsible for a much lower percentage. An analytical expression is derived that accounts for the combined behavior of corner elements and flat segments in the crush behavior of more complex test articles, such as tubes.  相似文献
