Silicon carbide (SiC) ceramics is a material with increasing use, due to its excellent mechanical properties, especially high hardness. In order to integrate this material into design process, we need to know its hardness as precise as possible. The Knoop hardness number (HK) is calculated using the expression: HK = α·F/d2, where F is the applied load, d is the long diagonal of the resulting 10indentation and a is the Knoop indenter geometrical constant. In this paper, the Knoop hardness of SiC ceramics was measured in the applied load range from 4.9 to 98.07 N. For some materials measured “apparent” hardness value decreases with increasing applied test load (normal indentation size effect – ISE), while for some materials measured “apparent” hardness increases with increasing applied test load (reverse indentation size effect – RISE). Obtained results show the measured hardness exhibits the ISE. In the literature several models are given for the phenomenon explanation. We used the following models: Meyer's law (F = K·dn), proportional specimen resistance – PSR (F = a1·d + a2·d2) and modified proportional specimen resistance – MPSR model (F = a0 + a1·d + a2·d2). Results of regression analysis for all applied models show they can all be used for ISE analysis. “True” hardness was determined based on the PSR and MPSR model (HKT = α·a2). The obtained results were similar. If the specimen surface is carefully prepared and the range of loads is wide, the a0 coefficient from MPSR model reaches small values and can be excluded. Therefore, for the calculation of SiC ceramics Knoop hardness, the simpler model (PSR) can be used.  相似文献

Water-dispersible graphene was prepared by reacting graphite oxide and 6-amino-4-hydroxy-2-naphthalenesulfonic acid (ANS). X-ray diffraction study showed that the basal reflection (002) peak of graphite oxide was absent in the ANS-functionalized graphene (ANS-G), indicating crystal layer delamination. Ultraviolet-visible spectral data were recorded to assess the solubility of the ANS-G in water. Fourier transform infrared spectral analysis suggested the attachment of ANS molecules to the surface of graphene. Raman and x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy revealed that oxygen functionality in the graphite oxide had been removed during reduction. Atomic force microscopy found that the thickness of ANS-G in water was about 1.8 nm, much higher than that of single layer graphene. Thermal stability measurements also indicated successful removal of oxygen functionality from the graphite oxide and the attachment of thermally unstable ANS to the graphene surfaces. The electrical conductivity of ANS-G, determined by a four-point probe, was 145 S m(-1) at room temperature.  相似文献

A systematic and extensive approach incorporating in vitro and in vivo experimentation to treat chronic osteomyelitis in animal model were made using antibiotic loaded special bioactive glass porous scaffolds. After thorough characterization for porosity, distribution, surface charge, a novel drug composite were infiltrated by using vacuum infiltration and freeze-drying method which was subsequently analyzed by SEM-EDAX and studied for in vitro drug elution in PBS and SBF. Osteomyelitis in rabbit was induced by inoculation of Staphylococcus aureus and optimum drug-scaffold were checked for its efficacy over control and parenteral treated animals in terms of histopathology, radiology, in vivo drug concentration in bone and serum and implant-bone interface by SEM. It was optimized that 60P samples with 60-65% porosity (bimodal distribution of macro- to micropore) with average pore size ~60 μm and higher interconnectivity, moderately high antibiotic adsorption efficiency (~49%) was ideal. Results after 42 days showed antibiotic released higher than MIC against S. aureus compared to parenteral treatment (2 injections a day for 6 weeks). In vivo drug pharmacokinetics and SEM on bone-defect interface proved superiority of CFS loaded porous bioactive glass implants over parenteral group based on infection eradication and new bone formation.  相似文献

This paper gives an overview of software-defined optical networks (SDONs). It explains the general concepts on software-defined networks (SDNs), their relationship with network function virtualization, and also about OpenFlow, which is a pioneer protocol for SDNs. It then explains the benefits and challenges of extending SDNs to multilayer optical networks, including flexible grid and elastic optical networks, and how it compares to generalized multi-protocol label switching for implementing a unified control plane. An overview on the industry and research efforts on SDON standardization and implementation is given next, to bring the reader up to speed with the current state of the art in this field. Finally, the paper outlines the benefits achieved by SDONs for network operators, and also some of the important and relevant research problems that need to be addressed.  相似文献

A small size, dual-band and dual-sense monopole antenna is proposed to improve the axial ratio bandwidth (ARBW). The proposed antenna is considered on a low-cost lossy FR4 substrate with parasitic strips (PSs) and partial ground plane of half guided wavelength dimensions. The dimension of the antenna in terms of wavelength is 0.27 λ 0 × 0.29 λ 0 × 0.02 λ 0 , where λ 0 is the wavelength at the lowest resonant frequency. The circularly polarized (CP) mode is created for strong orthogonal electric fields E X and E Y . The obtained phase difference (PD) between two electric fields E X and E Y is varied from 86 ° to 96 ° under ARBW. The achieved ARBW is 3.68–3.8 GHz, 4.84–12.58 GHz, and impedance bandwidth (IBW) is 3.51–3.82 GHz and 4.28–15 GHz. The applications of the proposed antenna are International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for 5G, C-band IEEE 802.11a wireless local area network (WLAN) at 5 GHz (5.15–5.825 GHz) and X-band wireless systems.  相似文献

Estimation of reliability and the number of faults present in software in its early development phase, i.e., requirement analysis or design phase is very beneficial for developing reliable software with optimal cost. Software reliability prediction in early phase of development is highly desirable to the stake holders, software developers, managers and end users. Since, the failure data are unavailable in early phase of software development, different reliability relevant software metrics and similar project data are used to develop models for early software fault prediction. The proposed model uses the linguistic values of software metrics in fuzzy inference system to predict the total number of faults present in software in its requirement analysis phase. Considering specific target reliability, weightage of each input software metrics and size of software, an algorithm has been proposed here for developing general fuzzy rule base. For model validation of the proposed model, 20 real software project data have been used here. The linguistic values from four software metrics related to requirement analysis phase have been considered as model inputs. The performance of the proposed model has been compared with two existing early software fault prediction models.  相似文献
