A novel electroanalytical approach is proposed here, and it is demonstrated with the direct and simultaneous determination of two unknowns: the concentration of redox sites and the apparent diffusion coefficient for charge propagation in a single crystal of dodecatungstophosphoric acid. This Keggin-type polyoxometalate serves as a model bulk redox conducting inorganic material for solid-state voltammetry. The system has been investigated using an ultramicrodisk working electrode in the absence of external liquid supporting electrolyte. The analytical method requires numerical solution of the combination of two equations in which the first one describes current (or charge) in a well-defined (either spherical or linear) diffusional regime and the second general equation describes chronoamperometric (or normal pulse voltammetric current) under mixed (linear-spherical) conditions. The iterative approach is based on successive approximations through calculation and minimizing the least-squares error function. The method is fairly universal, and in principle, it can be extended to the investigation of other bulk systems including sol-gel processed materials, redox melts, and solutions on condition that they are electroactive and well behaved, they contain redox centers at sufficiently high level, and a number of electrons for the redox reaction considered is known.  相似文献

The effect of pressure on the retention behavior of insulin variants in RPLC on a YMC-ODS C18 column was investigated under linear conditions. The retention factors of these variants increase nearly 2-fold when the average column pressure is increased from 55 to 250 bar while their separation factors remain nearly unchanged. This effect is explained by a change of the partial molar volume of the insulin variants associated with their adsorption that decreases from -99 to -80 mL/mol for mobile-phase concentrations of acetonitrile increasing from 29 to 33% (v/v). This volume change is much larger than the one observed with low molecular weight compounds. For the same pressure variation, the average number Z of acetonitrile molecules displaced from the protein and the stationary phase upon adsorption increases from 22 to 23.3. The pressure-induced relative increase of the term b[S]/[D0]z (which corresponds to the initial slope of the adsorption isotherm) is approximately twice as large for Lispro than for porcine insulin. Because the binding constant of insulin decreases with increasing pressure, this suggests that the number of binding sites on the stationary phase increases even faster. Finally, it was observed that the column efficiency at flow rates higher than 0.6 mL/min increases slightly with increasing pressure. It is suggested that these observations are also valid for other proteins analyzed in RPLC.  相似文献

Temporal difference TD methods are used by reinforcement learning algorithms for predicting future rewards. This article analyzes theoretically and illustrates experimentally the effects of performing TD lambda prediction udpates backwards for a number of past experiences. More exactly, two related techniques described in the literature are examined, referred to as replayed TD and backwards TD. The former is essentially an online learning method which performs at each time step a regular TD 0 update, and then replays updates backwards for a number of previous states. The latter operates in offline mode, after the end of a trial updating backwards the predictions for all visited states. They are both shown to be approximately equivalent to TD lambda with variable lambda values selected in a particular way. This is true even if they perform only TD 0 updates. The experimental results show that replayed TD 0 is competitive to TD lambda with regard to learning speed and quality.  相似文献

A nonlinear predictive generalised minimum variance control algorithm is introduced for the control of nonlinear discrete-time multivariable systems. The plant model is represented by the combination of a very general nonlinear operator and also a linear subsystem which can be open-loop unstable and is represented in state-space model form. The multi-step predictive control cost index to be minimised involves both weighted error and control signal costing terms. The solution for the control law is derived in the time domain using a general operator representation of the process. The controller includes an internal model of the nonlinear process, but because of the assumed structure of the system, the state observer is only required to be linear. In the asymptotic case, where the plant is linear, the controller reduces to a state-space version of the well-known GPC controller.  相似文献

The LTCC substrate makes it possible to build various microsystems which integrate not only passive components such as resistors, capacitors and inductors but also 3D structures such as cavities and channels. Nevertheless non-transparency is a main limitation of the LTCC-based microfluidic systems. The goal of this paper is to present technology which allows an optical transparent element to integrate with LTCC co-firing process. A micrototal analysis system (μTAS), which is based on the LTCC–glass technology, enables optical measurements. The study shows that integration of sodium glass material is feasible not only with zero-shrinkage LTCC (HL 2000, HL 800) but also with a standard one (DP 951). A FEA (finite element analysis) is used to calculate stress inside the LTCC–glass structure. A series of LTCC–glass windows with different sizes and shapes is investigated to observe size limitation of the integration method. The example ceramic–glass structures (chambers, mixer) with glass windows are made in order to present the possibilities of this new technology.  相似文献

Abstract Perceived air quality, Sick Building Syndrome (SBS) symptoms and productivity were studied in an existing office in which the air pollution level could be modified by introducing or removing a pollution source. This reversible intervention allowed the space to be classified as either non-low-polluting or low-polluting, as specified in the new European design criteria for the indoor environment CEN CR 1752 (1998). The pollution source was a 20-year-old used carpet which was introduced on a rack behind a screen so that it was invisible to the occupants. Five groups of six female subjects each were exposed to the conditions in the office twice, once with the pollution source present and once with the pollution source absent, each exposure being 265 min in the afternoon, one group at a time. They assessed the perceived air quality and SBS symptoms while performing simulated office work. The subject-rated acceptability of the perceived air quality in the office corresponded to 22% dissatisfied when the pollution source was present, and to 15% dissatisfied when the pollution source was absent. In the former condition there was a significantly increased prevalence of headaches (P= 0.04) and significantly lower levels of reported effort (P=0.02) during the text typing and calculation tasks, both of which required a sustained level of concentration. In the text typing task, subjects worked significantly more slowly when the pollution source was present in the office (P=0.003), typing 6.5% less text than when the pollution source was absent from the office. Reducing the pollution load on indoor air proved to be an effective means of improving the comfort, health and productivity of building occupants.  相似文献

Two coupling agents based on trichloro-s-triazine with different terminal unsaturated groups were synthesized in order to improve the bonding between cellulose fibers and an unsaturated polyester matrix. The products of the reactions between hydroxyl groups of cellulose and reactive species of coupling agents were analysed by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR) and by elemental microanalyses. ESCA was used for surface characterization of treated fibers. The coupling agents were found to be concentrated on the fiber surface. Polymerization of styrene was carried out in the presence of treated fibers. That the unsaturated groups of the treated fibers were able to copolymrize with styrene was shown by FTIR. Further evidence of the presence of grafted polystyrene on the surfaces of the cellulose fibers was provided by ESCA measurements.  相似文献

Surface texturing has been demonstrated to improve tribological performance of hydrodynamic bearings. Because the texturing increases complexity of a surface, numerical methods are required. However, no comparison study has so far been conducted to determine which methods are most accurate with the least number of grid/mesh points. Knowing this would allow for the analysis and optimisation of bearings with complex geometries. In this work, performance of four discretisation methods (finite difference, finite element, finite volume and spectral element (SE)) in approximating the pressure function and three integration methods (Newton–Cotes formulas and Gauss quadrature) in approximating the load capacity, coefficient of friction and film height was evaluated in a systematic manner. Three slider bearing geometries were used: inclined surface without texturing and two parallel surfaces textured with trapezoidal and quadratic dimples. For the evaluation, pressure function, load capacity, coefficient of friction were calculated analytically using the Reynolds equation. Differences between the analytical values and their approximations produced by the numerical methods were calculated versus the number of grid/mesh points. The numbers of points were determined for the differences below 5, 1 and 0.1 %. Results showed that the SE method and the Gauss quadrature were most accurate regardless of the bearing geometry and used up to 28 times fewer points as compared to other methods.  相似文献
