In pulp production processes, lignin is generated in large quantities as a by‐product. It is often burned to generate heat and electricity. Despite the large‐scale production of lignin, its utilization in high‐value applications has remained a challenge. Recently, the production of lignin nanoparticles (LNP) and lignin polymers has gathered attention. The potential to use LNPs as reinforcement filler, UV absorbent, antioxidant, and drug carrier has been reported, while lignin polymers might be suitable for the production of composites, hydrogels, flocculants, and coagulants. This review paper provides insights into the production and application of LNP and lignin polymers. In addition, the challenges associated with the characterization and use of these products are comprehensively reviewed. 相似文献

This paper presents the results of experimental studies on reinforced concrete columns strengthened with carbon fiber-reinforced polymer (CFRP) composites under the combination of axial load and bending moment. A total of seven large-scale specimens with rectangular cross section (200?mm×300?mm) were prepared and tested under eccentric compressive loading up to failure. The overall length of specimens with two haunched heads was 2,700 mm. Different FRP thicknesses of two, three, and five layers; fiber orientations of 0°, 45°, and 90°; and two eccentricities of 200 and 300 mm were investigated. The effects of these parameters on load-displacement and moment-curvature behaviors of the columns as well as the variation of longitudinal and transverse strains on different faces of the columns were studied. The results of the study demonstrated a significant enhancement on the performance of strengthened columns compared to unstrengthened columns. 相似文献

In order to increase the low voltage of renewable energy systems to a relatively high bus voltage for the downstream DC-AC grid-connected inverter, a new DC-DC switched-capacitor converter with the potential of output voltage regulation is proposed. The operational principles, with regard to the specific switching conditions, are provided the relationships for the parameter design and efficiency calculation. The topology makes it possible to integrate the high voltage gain and excellent output regulation that open a huge area of applications and create the possibility of maximum power point tracking (MPPT), which is an important advantage of proposed structure. Moreover, the most important advantages of the proposed structure are continuous input current, variety of the DC voltage source values, and the cost of the converter in comparison with the conventional structures. A comparison with other similar structures is given to show the merits of the proposed topology. Summary: Functionalized metallocene copolymers synthesized from ethylene with 5‐hexen‐1‐ol and ethylene with 10‐undecen‐1‐ol were used as compatibilizers in LDPE/starch and LDPE/dextran blends in order to improve the interfacial adhesion between hydrophobic LDPE and hydrophilic natural polymers. An increase in tensile modulus and a slight decrease in tensile strength was observed when poly[ethylene‐co‐(10‐undecen‐1‐ol)] was added to a 70:30 wt.‐% LDPE/dextran blend, whereas the addition of poly[ethylene‐co‐(5‐hexen‐1‐ol)] as compatibilizer resulted in obtaining a more rigid material with a slightly higher modulus. Scanning electron microscopy of modified dextran blends containing 3 wt.‐% of both compatibilizers showed some degree of phase cocontinuity. Enhanced interfacial adhesion and decrease in particle size of starch was observed when 5 wt.‐% of poly [ethylene‐co‐(5‐hexen‐1‐ol)] copolymer was used as the compatibilizer in starch blends. The crystallization temperature of LDPE, determined by DSC, was shifted to a slightly higher temperature as a consequence of the addition of the compatibilizers. The existence of phase segregation was also revealed by thermal analysis when 5 wt.‐% of the copolymers were used as blend modifiers.

This paper addresses a permutation flow-shop scheduling problem where there are a finite number of transporters to carry jobs from each machine to its subsequent machine. The problem is first formulated as a mixed-integer linear programme, and then two anarchic society optimisation (ASO) algorithms are developed to solve large-sized instances of the problem. The numerical experience shows that the ASO algorithms are considerably effective and efficient. Finally, a sensitivity analysis is carried out to study the performance of the manufacturing system versus the transportation times and the number of transporters. 相似文献

Current technology trends have led to the growing impact of process variations on performance of asynchronous circuits. As it is imperative to model process parameter variations for sub-100nm technologies to produce a more real performance metric, it is equally important to consider the correlation of these variations to increase the accuracy of the performance computation. In this paper, we present an efficient method for performance evaluation of asynchronous circuits considering inter- and intra-die process variation. The proposed method includes both statistical static timing analysis (SSTA) and statistical Timed Petri-Net based simulation. Template-based asynchronous circuit has been modeled using Variant-Timed Petri-Net. Based on this model, the proposed SSTA calculates the probability density function of the delay of global critical cycle. The efficiency for the proposed SSTA is obtained from a technique that is derived from the principal component analysis (PCA) method. This technique simplifies the computation of mean, variance and covariance values of a set of correlated random variables. In order to consider spatial correlation in the Petri-Net based simulation, we also include a correlation coefficient to the proposed Variant-Timed Petri-Net which is obtained from partitioning the circuit. We also present a simulation tool of Variant-Timed Petri-Net and the results of the experiments are compared with Monte Carlo simulation-based method. 相似文献
