The aim of this work was to study the influence of a diet with probiotic bacteria on the lipid composition of different tissues from Iberian pigs. Cholesterol and fatty acid profiles were measured in liver, subcutaneous fat, and Serratus ventralis muscle samples. Feeding Iberian pigs a mixture of probiotic microorganisms for 45 days prior to slaughter affected the tissue composition. The feeds of the control and probiotic groups were identical except for the added Bacillus licheniformis and Bacillus subtilis (1.28 × 109 cfu/kg feed) in the feed of the probiotic group. The diet with probiotics significantly affected the fatty acid profile of liver, subcutaneous fat and Serratus ventralis muscle samples, but no significant differences were found for the cholesterol content. The livers of the probiotic group contained lower levels of n‐6 fatty acids and higher levels of n‐3 fatty acids. The subcutaneous fat contained lower levels of n‐6 fatty acids. Serratus ventralis muscles from the probiotic group contained a significantly higher percentage of oleic acid than those of the control group. Practical applications: This study deals with the effect of the addition of probiotic bacteria to the diet of pigs on both the cholesterol and fatty acid content. B. subtilis and B. licheniformis can be used in pig feed (Regulation EC no. 2148/2004), but there are no studies about their effects on fresh meat or other tissues, particularly regarding the fat composition. Thus, it is interesting to study how feeding these microorganisms affects the different tissues. Including these microorganisms in the basic diet could serve as a strategy to modify the fat composition and to obtain healthier products from pigs. 相似文献

The study is focused on influences of optical properties change of poly(vinyl butyral) (PVB) sheets determined for safety glass preparing. Optic measurements were evaluated itself and after, the laminated glass was observed. The study deals with a cognizance of causation of the optical properties change in different PVB sheets in dependence on adsorbed water content into the polymer matrix. Results of this work describe the influence of ? OH group content on PVB chain and type and amount of additives adjusting adhesion of PVB towards glass. However, the most important discovery of this work is evaluation of critical water content that leads to haze generation. The evaluation of various types of sheets was performed. At the same time the artificial addition of Mg2+ salts of organic acids (with various polarity of the molecule) was evaluated to assess their influence on haze generation. It was found that haze caused by Mg2+ salt is possible to eliminate when there is certain water content in PVB. Obtained values and comparisons are very important for PVB sheets industry and for industry dealing with lamination of PVB between glasses. In liver surgery, biliary obstruction can lead to secondary biliary cirrhosis, a life-threatening disease with liver transplantation as the only curative treatment option. Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSC) have been shown to improve liver function in both acute and chronic liver disease models. This study evaluated the effect of allogenic MSC transplantation in a large animal model of repeated biliary obstruction followed by partial hepatectomy. MSC transplantation supported the growth of regenerated liver tissue after 14 days (MSC group, n = 10: from 1087 ± 108 (0 h) to 1243 ± 92 mL (14 days); control group, n = 11: from 1080 ± 95 (0 h) to 1100 ± 105 mL (14 days), p = 0.016), with a lower volume fraction of hepatocytes in regenerated liver tissue compared to resected liver tissue (59.5 ± 10.2% vs. 70.2 ± 5.6%, p < 0.05). Volume fraction of connective tissue, blood vessels and bile vessels in regenerated liver tissue, serum levels of liver enzymes (AST, ALT, ALP and GGT) and liver metabolites (albumin, bilirubin, urea and creatinine), as well as plasma levels of IL-6, IL-8, TNF-α and TGF-β, were not affected by MSC transplantation. In our novel, large animal (pig) model of repeated biliary obstruction followed by partial hepatectomy, MSC transplantation promoted growth of liver tissue without any effect on liver function. This study underscores the importance of translating results between small and large animal models as well as the careful translation of results from animal model into human medicine. 相似文献

Erythropoietin (EPO) downregulates hepcidin expression to increase the availability of iron; the downregulation of hepcidin is mediated by erythroferrone (ERFE) secreted by erythroblasts. Erythroblasts also express transferrin receptor 2 (TFR2); however, the possible role of TFR2 in hepcidin downregulation is unclear. The purpose of the study was to correlate liver expression of hepcidin with the expression of ERFE and TFR2 in murine bone marrow and spleen at 4, 16, 24, 48, 72 and 96 h following administration of a single dose of EPO. Splenic Fam132b expression increased 4 h after EPO injection; liver hepcidin mRNA was decreased at 16 h. In the spleen, expression of TFR2 and transferrin receptor (TFR1) proteins increased by an order of magnitude at 48 and 72 h after EPO treatment. The EPO-induced increase in splenic TFR2 and TFR1 was associated with an increase in the number of Tfr2- and Tfr1-expressing erythroblasts. Plasma exosomes prepared from EPO-treated mice displayed increased amount of TFR1 protein; however, no exosomal TFR2 was detected. Overall, the results confirm the importance of ERFE in stress erythropoiesis, support the role of TFR2 in erythroid cell development, and highlight possible differences in the removal of TFR2 and TFR1 from erythroid cell membranes. 相似文献

Cytokinins are a class of phytohormones, signalling molecules specific to plants. They act as regulators of diverse physiological processes in complex signalling pathways. It is necessary for plants to continuously regulate cytokinin distribution among different organs, tissues, cells, and compartments. Such regulatory mechanisms include cytokinin biosynthesis, metabolic conversions and degradation, as well as cytokinin membrane transport. In our review, we aim to provide a thorough picture of the latter. We begin by summarizing cytokinin structures and physicochemical properties. Then, we revise the elementary thermodynamic and kinetic aspects of cytokinin membrane transport. Next, we review which membrane-bound carrier proteins and protein families recognize cytokinins as their substrates. Namely, we discuss the families of “equilibrative nucleoside transporters” and “purine permeases”, which translocate diverse purine-related compounds, and proteins AtPUP14, AtABCG14, AtAZG1, and AtAZG2, which are specific to cytokinins. We also address long-distance cytokinin transport. Putting all these pieces together, we finally discuss cytokinin distribution as a net result of these processes, diverse in their physicochemical nature but acting together to promote plant fitness. 相似文献

A study was conducted to evaluate the influence of breed and sex of animals on tenderness of pork. For evaluation, carcasses
of pure breed barrows and gilts of Large White, Czech pig meat, Landrace and Duroc were used. For laboratory investigations,
the samples of musculus longissimus lumborum et thoracis (20 mm thick) were taken from the same place, at the first cruciate vertebra 48 h post mortem. Seven days post mortem, the
texture of heat-processed meat was measured objectively by the shear method on Instron equipped with Warner–Bratzler shear
device. Meat tenderness and juiciness were also evaluated sensorially. It was observed that the tenderness of cooked meat
is influenced by breed (the tenderest meat was from Duroc breed). The sex of animals has significant effect on meat tenderness
too. At the same time, the effects of pH 45 minutes (pH45) and 24 hours (pH24) post mortem and intramuscular fat content on meat tenderness were evaluated. Correlations were found between shear force
(tenderness) and intramuscular fat content and also between shear force and pH value 45 min post mortem. The shear force decreased
with increasing intramuscular fat content and with increasing pH45 value. Sensory evaluation of tenderness confirmed the objectively measured data. 相似文献

Longissimus lumborum et thoracis muscles from 150 cattle comprising Czech Pied breed bulls and cows were used to investigate the relationship between pH value and beef tenderness as influenced by housing before slaughter and by the hanging mode of carcasses. The pH value was measured in the loin at the end of the slaughter-line (pH(0)) and after cooling of carcasses (pH(24),pH(48)). The texture of raw meat was measured 72h post-mortem by the Warner-Bratzler shear method; the shear force was related to pH. Curvilinear relationships with coefficients of correlation r=0.64 (P<0.05) for bulls individually housed and r=0.83 for bulls housed in groups between the shear force and the pH value 24h p.m. were found with maximal shear force (the most tough meat) in the range of pH(24) from 6.2 to 6.4. Lower correlations (r=0.72 and r=0.54) between pH(24) and meat tenderness were found in the case of cows individually housed and housed in groups, respectively. No significant relationships were found between texture and pH measured at the end of the slaughter-line (r=0.59 for bulls and r=0.65 for cows) and 48h post-mortem (r=0.64 for bulls and r=0.50 for cows). The mode of housing of cattle before slaughter influenced the properties of beef significantly. Meat of bulls housed in groups before slaughter was less tender (the shear force was higher) than meat of bulls individually housed. It could be explained by higher depletion of glycogen before slaughter and thus insufficient pH decline. Generally, the meat of cows was more tender than of bulls irrespective of housing. No significant differences were found between the left and right halves of carcasses. Thus the mode of hanging had no influence on beef tenderness. 相似文献

为了正确将表面活性剂使用到制革的酶处理工序中,本试验分别在胰酶和AS1.398酶溶液中添加质量浓度10%的明胶和不同量的十二烷基苯磺酸钠(阴离子型表面活性剂)、十二烷基三甲基氯化铵(阳离子型表面活性剂)和平平加O(非离子型表面活性剂),来测定不同表面活性剂对酶活力和明胶水解程度的影响。试验表明:3种表面活性剂对酶活均起到激活作用;但添加阴离子型表面活性剂后,明胶的水解程度提高。为了探究它们在溶液中所起的主导性作用,在试验第二步,将3种表面活性剂加入到质量浓度0.4%明胶+酶的混合液中,研究混合液在37℃时的Zeta电位的变化。试验表明:加入阴离子型,Zeta电位的绝对值提升;加入阳离子型,Zeta电位从负变为正;加入非离子型,Zeta电位绝对值降低。结合实际制革生产中对皮革高性能的要求,研究表明:在进行酶软化时,应优先选择非离子型表面活性剂。 相似文献
