The influence of different SPS-based methods, that is, conventional spark plasma sintering (SPS), flash SPS (FSPS), and reactive SPS (RSPS) on the properties of Al2O3/SiC composite was investigated. It was shown that the application of preliminary high energy ball milling of the powders significantly enhances the sinterability of the ceramics. It was also demonstrated that FSPS provides unique conditions for rapid, that is, less than a minute, consolidation of refractory ceramics. The Al2O3-20 wt% SiC composite produced by FSPS possesses the highest relative density (~99%), fracture toughness (7.5 MPa m1/2), hardness (20.3 GPa) and wear resistance among all ceramics produced by other SPS-based approaches with dwelling time 10 minutes. The RSPS ceramics hold the highest Young's modulus (390 GPa). Substitution of micron-sized Al2O3 particles by nano alumina does not lead to measurable enhancement of the mechanical properties.  相似文献

Accelerated storage tests are frequently used to assess the oxidative stability of foods and related systems due to its reproducibility. Various methods and experimental conditions are used to measure lipid oxidation. Differences between laboratories make it necessary to determine the repeatability and reproducibility of oxidation tests performed under the same conditions. The objective of the present interlaboratory study was to evaluate the outcome of a storage test for two different bulk oils, sunflower oil (SFO) and rapeseed oil (RSO), during a period of 9 weeks at 20°C, 30°C, 40°C, and 60°C. Sixteen laboratories were provided with bottled oils and conducted the storage tests according to a detailed protocol. Lipid oxidation was monitored by the formation of conjugated dienes (CD) and the activation energy (Ea) was determined for comparative purposes and statistically evaluated. An increase in CD formation was observed for both oils when the storage temperature was increased in all laboratories. The Ea,1 ranged from 47.9 to 73.3 kJ mol−1 in RSO and from 27.8 to 62.6 kJ mol−1 in SFO, with average values of 58.2 and 46.8 kJ mol−1, respectively. The reproducibility coefficients were 10.9% and 18.2% for RSO and SFO, respectively. Practical applications: In order to compare results on oxidative stability of foods derived from different studies, the reproducibility of storage tests and methods employed to evaluate the oxidation level should be considered. This study provides fundamental data on the reproducibility of lipid oxidation under accelerated storage conditions and defines important parameters to be considered for the conduction of experiments.  相似文献

Porous carbon materials represent prospective materials for absorbers, filters, and electronic applications. Carbon fibers with high surface areas can be produced from polyacrylonitrile and spun as thin fibers from solution. The resulting polymer fibers are first stabilized to obtain conjugated ribbons and then carbonized to graphitic structures in a second high‐temperature step in an inert atmosphere. In this study, we investigated a previously described fast laser‐heating process that delivered fibers with a higher crystallinity and surface area compared to the thermally carbonized fibers. In a subsequent KOH‐activation step, the crystalline domains were exfoliated, and the surface of the fibers became macroporous. This led to a reduced specific surface area but a higher capacitance compared to thermally carbonized nanofibers. The oxidation process of single-walled carbon nanotubes via nitric acid treatment was followed by IR-, UV-Vis-NIR, and single bundle Raman spectroscopy. The introduction of functional, oxygen-containing groups is revealed by an additional absorption band at 1725 cm−1, characteristic of carbonyl stretch vibrations. No significant shift of the optical absorption bands could be detected after oxidation. The combination of atomic force microscopy and confocal scanning resonance-enhanced Raman microscopy was used to investigate thin bundles and, eventually, individual nanotubes in detail. These experiments enabled determination of the dependence of the Raman intensity of the G-line (around 1590 cm−1) on the bundle height for both non-oxidized and oxidized tubes. The Raman cross-section of the oxidized tubes was found to be reduced by a factor of ˜4, compared to the pristine tubes. This observation is ascribed to all tubes within a bundle that are oxidized to the same degree.  相似文献

Microbial transglutaminase (MTG) was stably solid‐phase immobilized on glass microbeads by using a second‐generation dendronized polymer. Immobilized MTG enabled the efficient generation of site‐specifically conjugated proteins, including antibody fragments, as well as whole antibodies through distinct glutamines and, unprecedentedly, also through lysines with various bifunctional substrates with defined stoichiometries. With this method, we generated dual, site‐specifically modified antibodies comprising a fluorescent probe and a metal chelator for radiolabeling—a strategy anticipated to design antibodies for imaging and simultaneous therapy. Furthermore, we provide evidence that immobilized MTG features higher siteselectivity than soluble MTG.  相似文献

The tumor suppressor Fhit and its substrate diadenosine triphosphate (Ap3A) are important factors in cancer development and progression. Fhit has Ap3A hydrolase activity and cleaves Ap3A into adenosine monophosphate (AMP) and adenosine diphosphate (ADP); this is believed to terminate Fhit‐mediated signaling. How the catalytic activity of Fhit is regulated and how the Fhit ? Ap3A complex might exert its growth‐suppressive function remain to be discovered. Small‐molecule inhibitors of the enzymatic activity of Fhit would provide valuable tools for the elucidation of its tumor‐suppressive functions. Here we describe the development of a high‐throughput screen for the identification of such small‐molecule inhibitors of Fhit. Two clusters of inhibitors that decreased the activity of Fhit by at least 90 % were identified. Several derivatives were synthesized and exhibited in vitro IC50 values in the nanomolar range.  相似文献

Technical lignins are complex, irregular, polyphenolic compounds obtained in large quantities as by-products of the pulp and paper industries or according to current biorefinery setups. The availability of kraft lignin is increasing due to larger scale retrieval from process liquors, which opens new possibilities for further refining or new applications of such lignins. In the present study, sequential ultrafiltration of kraft lignin was performed to fractionate the lignin and to elucidate molar mass-dependent changes in lignin structure. Two industrial black liquors and three precipitated lignins were fractionated, and their functional groups were determined, providing molar mass-dependent profiles. Interrelations between structural parameters and functional groups, the molecular weight ranges, and the different lignin sources are discussed. This will help to establish structure-property-application relationships (SPARs) for technical lignins which are required for any future large-scale application.  相似文献

In this paper a detailed study of the (ZrO2)1‐x(Y2O3)x (x=0.025–0.15), (ZrO2)1‐x(Sc2O3)x (x = 0.06 – 0.11) and (ZrO2)1‐x‐y(Sc2O3)x(Y2O3)y (x=0.07 – 0.11; y=0.01 – 0.04) solid solution crystals grown by skull melting technique is presented. The structure, phase composition, and ion conductivity of the obtained crystals were investigated by X‐ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, Raman scattering spectroscopy, and impedance spectroscopy. Maximum conductivity as (ZrO2)1‐x(Y2O3)x and (ZrO2)1‐x(Sc2O3)x solid solution crystals is observed for the compositions containing 10 mol% stabilizing oxide, and the conductivity of 10ScSZ is ~3 times higher than for 10YSZ. Experiments on crystal growth (ZrO2)1‐xy(Sc2O3)x(Y2O3)y solid solutions showed that uniform, transparent crystals 7Sc3YSZ, 7Sc4YSZ, 8Sc2YSZ, 8Sc3YSZ, 9Sc2YSZ, 9Sc3YSZ, 10Sc1YSZ, and 10Sc2YSZ are single phase crystal containing t″ phase. It is established that a necessary condition of melt growth of (ZrO2)1‐xy(Sc2O3)x(Y2O3)y single‐phase crystals is the total concentration of the stabilizing oxides from 10 to 12 mol%. The addition of Y2O3 affects the (ZrO2)1‐xy(Sc2O3)x(Y2O3)y solid solution conductivity different ways and depends on the Sc2O3 content in the starting composition. The effects of structure, phase composition, concentration, and type of stabilizing oxides on the electrical characteristics of obtained crystals are discussed.  相似文献

Mesoporous glasses – the leaching products of phase‐separated alkali borosilicate glasses – are widely used in fundamental research and practical applications. In this work, the option to control their internal mesopore structure by varying the conditions of microphase separation has been studied. Structure and transport characterization of a family of nanoporous glasses obtained under different conditions has been performed using a combination of several experimental techniques, including gas adsorption, nuclear magnetic resonance cryoporometry and diffusometry.  相似文献

The curing of an epoxy consisting of the solid hardener dicyandiamide (DICY) and the resin diglycidyl ether of bisphenol A (DGEBA) is studied in a system consisting of a tablet of DICY embedded in liquid DGEBA. Dissolution of DICY within the liquid DGEBA in combination with the transport of dissolved DICY from the tablet border into DGEBA and the chemical reaction of both reactants is studied by scanning Brillouin microscopy and infrared spectroscopy. Scanning Brillouin microscopy demonstrates the spatial and temporal evolution of the static and dynamic hypersonic properties in the course of curing in the vicinity of the DICY tablet. Infrared spectroscopy performed on epoxy pieces extracted from the final sample at different distances from the tablet surface give information about the spatial evolution of the curing process. The results achieved by both techniques are finally combined to yield a better understanding of the curing of DICY-based epoxies, which transform upon curing from strongly heterogeneous systems towards increasingly homogeneous systems.  相似文献
