The temporal evolution of the surface topography and x-ray diffractogram of gold thin films was obtained. We found by STM that the surface roughness decreased exponentially with time. X-ray analysis indicates that the microcrystals are strained i.e., the x-ray peaks shift with elapsed time towards the gold standard reflections. The rearrangement of the gold film is induced by surface strains that appear during film growth rather than by the thermal motion of atoms. A DC current was applied to the films to induce surface changes and to study electromigration phenomena. Results show that current effects accelerate film failure by surface diffusion produced by the growth of microcrystals at the expense of mechanically strained microcrystals. 相似文献

Different values of cooling rate and oxygen flow were used, and no significant influence on superconducting characteristics of the samples was observed. Lasioglossin III (LL-III) is a cationic antimicrobial peptide derived from the venom of the eusocial bee Lasioglossum laticeps. LL-III is extremely toxic to both Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, and it exhibits antifungal as well as antitumor activity. Moreover, it shows low hemolytic activity, and it has almost no toxic effects on eukaryotic cells. However, the molecular basis of the LL-III mechanism of action is still unclear. In this study, we characterized by means of calorimetric (DSC) and spectroscopic (CD, fluorescence) techniques its interaction with liposomes composed of a mixture of 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-phosphocholine (POPC) and 1-palmitoyl-2-oleoyl-sn-glycero-3-rac-phosphoglycerol (POPG) lipids as a model of the negatively charged membrane of pathogens. For comparison, the interaction of LL-III with the uncharged POPC liposomes was also studied. Our data showed that LL-III preferentially interacted with anionic lipids in the POPC/POPG liposomes and induces the formation of lipid domains. Furthermore, the leakage experiments showed that the peptide could permeabilize the membrane. Interestingly, our DSC results showed that the peptide-membrane interaction occurs in a non-disruptive manner, indicating an intracellular targeting mode of action for this peptide. Consistent with this hypothesis, our gel-retardation assay experiments showed that LL-III could interact with plasmid DNA, suggesting a possible intracellular target. 相似文献

Among several oil/water emulsion separation technologies, the utilization of nanoparticle-decorated membranes with diverse functionalities has received considerable attention in recent years, particularly if the antifouling capacity can be improved. In this article, we propose a new membrane based on surface-hydrolyzed polyacrylonitrile electrospun membranes and/or decorated with amine-functionalized Si-MCM-41 nanoparticles to be used as oil/water emulsion separation treatment and to determine their antifouling ability. X-Ray photoelectron spectrometry, attenuated total reflectance Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, and toluidine blue O assay, scanning electron microscopy, contact angle measurements for oil under water and thermogravimetry were used for characterizing the membranes and an assay of permeability was developed to quantify the diffusion of oil molecules across the electrospun membrane. The electrospun and/or decorated membranes showed an underwater oleophobic wettability, which can separate oil-in-water emulsions with 87% separation efficiency, results of fouling experiments, evaluated in terms of rejection and flux recovery ratio, exhibited good antifouling ability, but the membrane decoration process did not lead to superior outcomes compared with undecorated membranes. 相似文献

At present, many countries allow citizens or entities to interact with the government outside the telematic environment through
a legal representative who is granted powers of representation. However, if the interaction takes place through the Internet,
only primitive mechanisms of representation are available, and these are mainly based on non-dynamic offline processes that
do not enable quick and easy identity delegation. This paper proposes a system of dynamic delegation of identity between two
generic entities that can solve the problem of delegated access to the telematic services provided by public authorities.
The solution herein is based on the generation of a delegation token created from a proxy certificate that allows the delegating
entity to delegate identity to another on the basis of a subset of its attributes as delegator, while also establishing in
the delegation token itself restrictions on the services accessible to the delegated entity and the validity period of delegation.
Further, the paper presents the mechanisms needed to either revoke a delegation token or to check whether a delegation token

In usability context of interactive systems the heuristic evaluation method is widespread. In most applications the results tend to be qualitative, describing such aspects that require some improvement for the benefit of usability. However, these qualitative results do not allow us to determine how usable it is or how it becomes an interactive system. Hence the need for quantitative results may also be very necessary in order to determine the effort that would be needed to get a sufficiently usable system.This article describes, following the idea of the UsabAIPO Project, a new experiment to obtain quantitative results after a heuristic evaluation. A new family of oligotrehaluronamides was synthesized through the polycondensation of α,α-trehaluronic acid dimethyl ester and different diamines or polyamines. In particular, diamines with different molecular structure (1,n-alkylene diamines, aromatic diamine, and alkyleneoxydiamine) were used in order to modulate the molecular weights and the physical characteristics of the products, such as Tg, hydrophilic or hydrophobic properties, and solubility. α,α-Trehaluronic acid was obtained from a renewable source as α,α-trehalose. The syntheses of oligotrehaluronamides were carried out in different solvents such as ethanol, methanol, THF and DMSO, using triethylamine as catalyst. All the compounds obtained in this study were characterized through FT-IR and NMR spectroscopy. The molecular weights were evaluated by 1H-NMR and in some cases compared with those obtained from ESI-MS spectrometry. Glass transition temperatures and melting points were detected by differential scanning calorimetry. Low molecular weight oligoamides, containing several hydroxyl groups, are water-soluble and could be used in water-based formulations. 相似文献

This work reports the performance of TiO2/BiI3 and TiO2/PbI2 nanocomposites for hydrogen generation. BiI3 and PbI2 quantum dots (QDs) were grown on TiO2 (P25 Degussa) using a fast injection method. According to the analysis by X-ray diffraction, the nanocomposites have a mixture of anatase, rutile and cubic phases from TiO2, BiI3 and PbI2. The images obtained from transmission electron microscopy revealed that the TiO2 support have sizes in the range of 70–220 nm while the QDs of BiI3 and PbI2 (co-catalysts) grown on TiO2 have sizes in the range of 12–17 nm. The presence of these iodides on TiO2 created oxygen vacancies defects (confirmed by photoluminescence measurements) that extended the light absorption of TiO2 from the UV to the VIS range. According to the results from the photocatalytic experiments for hydrogen generation (achieved using pure water and UV-VIS light), the hydrogen generation rates produced by the TiO2/BiI3 and TiO2/PbI2 nanocomposites were 437–580 times, 81–108 times and 21–30 times, higher than these for pure TiO2, PbI2 and BiI3, respectively. The maximum hydrogen generation rates of the TiO2/BiI3 and TiO2/PbI2 nanocomposites were 290.7 and 219.2 μmol h?1 g?1, respectively. In addition, the TiO2/BiI3 and TiO2/PbI2 nanocomposites contained defects that acted as electron trapping centers, which in turn, delayed the electron-hole recombination and this favored the photocatalytic generation of H2. Moreover, the heterojunction formed between the TiO2 and the iodides allowed the transfer of electrons from the conduction band of TiO2 toward the conduction band of the iodides, creating a “sink” for the electrons which delayed the electron hole recombination. The results presented here demonstrated that the deposition of iodide co-catalyst on TiO2 is a feasible option to enhance the hydrogen generation. 相似文献
