Several polymer‐layered silicate (clay) nanocomposites (PLSNs) were analyzed by transmission electron microscopy (TEM) and wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction (XRD) in an effort to characterize the nanoscale dispersion of the layered silicate. The PLSNs investigated included thermoset (cyanate esters) and thermoplastic polymers (polystyrene, nylon 6, and polypropylene‐g‐maleic anhydride). The results of this study reveal that the overall nanoscale dispersion of the clay in the polymer is best described by TEM, especially when mixed morphologies are present. XRD is useful for the measurement of d‐spacings in intercalated systems but cannot always observe low clay loadings (<5%) or be used as a method to identify an exfoliated nanocomposite where no XRD peaks are present (constituting a negative result). Most importantly, the study showed that XRD is not a stand‐alone technique, and it should be used in conjunction with TEM. Our studies suggest that new definitions, or a clarification of existing definitions, are needed to properly describe the diversity of PLSN nanostructures seen in various materials. Optical inspection is a potentially powerful and practical tool to collect information on polymer blend morphology for on-line quality and process control. This paper describes two approaches for the characterization of polymer blend materials by multiple light scattering. A quantitative evaluation of spectral turbidimetry (scattering of transmitted light) is presented and an adaptation of this technique for monitoring particle size, independent of the volume fraction is demonstrated. Such a procedure is applicable to materials in film form. A different approach is presented for the analysis of nearly spherical particles in optically thick samples: the diffuse reflection pattern surrounding the position of incidence of a focused light beam on the surface of the turbid medium is scanned by a single side imaging system. A spectral pseudo-transmittance signal processing technique provides particle size information again independent of the volume fraction: Both techniques have been tested using well characterized polystyrene microspheres suspended in water as well as poly(methyl) (methacrylate)/polystyrene polymer blends.  相似文献

The influence of a thin adhesive layer (AL) of a polymer on the wet adhesion of an epoxy coating on an aluminium substrate has been studied by the peel and tape test method. It is shown that thin layers considerably improve the stability of adhesive joints in the presence of water. The mechanism of this improvement and the mechanical properties required for such thin layers are discussed. Some experimental evidence for improved wet adhesion of polymer binders to an aluminium support is presented and the mechanism explained. These results on interfacial processes contribute to a better understanding of the mechanism of adhesion.  相似文献

The volumetric mass transfer coefficients, kLa, measured in a pilot plant (0.1 m3) and an industrial (67.5 m3) fermentor during an actual fermentation process are presented. Problems related to the estimation of the phsyical properties as well as to the correlation of experimental data and to scale up procedures are discussed. Although the scale up factor was rather high, both sets of data could be represented by single correlation. Comparison of the experimental data with several available correlations demonstrated the need for pilot plant experiments and scale up procedures, since it is almost impossible to take into account all relevant system properties.  相似文献

Polymer blends with varying amounts of poly(vinyl chloride) (PVC), acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene (ABS) and polyester have been developed to produce parts with highly flexible, good impact strength, and flame retardant hinge properties. In the present work, the rheological and dynamic mechanical properties are balanced by changing the blend formulations. It is shown that blends morphology and rheology have greater impact on the dimensional stability and delamination at the surface of the molded hinge parts.  相似文献

目的:阐述实验动物在血液制品生产质量控制过程中应用的重要性。方法:按《中华人民共和国药典》2005年版三部要求及相关项目的技术规范进行血液制品质量控制。结果:血浆数量150吨,可同时生产以下品种的产品,人血白蛋白共30批次,总瓶数约40万瓶(折10g);免疫球蛋白类:共30批次,总瓶数约30万瓶(折2.5g);人纤维蛋白原:共30批次,总瓶数约15万瓶(折0.5g);人凝血酶原复合物:共30批次,总瓶数约12万瓶(折300IU);人凝血因子Ⅷ:共30批次,总瓶数约10万瓶(折200IU)。需使用家兔870只、豚鼠300只小鼠750只。结论:实验动物应用于血液制品生产质量控制发挥了非常重要的作用。  相似文献

针对目前基于免疫的检测器生成算法中,匹配规则单一造成的检测器质量低下的问题,提出一种基于混合匹配规则的否定选择算法,采用海明距离整体匹配的各段内R连续比特匹配的否定选择算法,即混合匹配否定选择算法,对算法的性能进行了分析.实验结果表明,该算法能够高效地产生所需要的检测器,提高了检测率,且降低了误报率.  相似文献
