Classical color models and their applications to computer vision are reviewed. The performances of color quantitation from digitized images are compared with those derived from a chromameter. The color quantitation obtained from either digitized color slides or directly digitized images is proved to be more efficient than the conventional visual assessment of observers. A methodology is proposed for determining the specific color indices which are needed in dermatology. An application of this methodology is developed for designing a blanching quantitation index in order to replace the visual assessment during McKenzie tests.  相似文献

Skeleton weed, centaurea juncea, is a declared weed in Western Australia because it competes with grain crops for nutrients and moisture. When it is found during harvesting, mechanised teams search and eradicate it. In an earlier report of field trials (Hartley et al, 1989) it was reported that search teams' detection rate was poor and since search teams had usually never seen skeleton weeds, visual discrimination learning was to be expected and observed during searches. The present study investigated the nature of this discrimination learning in a laboratory by developing a training programme of colour photographic slides of weeds in stubble. Subjects receiving specific training with feedback on their performance compared with those receiving pseudo-training showed a significant improvement in detections. Subsequently the benefit of the programme was validated in a field trial.  相似文献

A technique for automatic anatomically selective enhancement of digital chest radiographs is developed. Anatomically selective enhancement is motivated by the desire to simultaneously meet the different enhancement requirements of the lung field and the mediastinum. A recent peak detection algorithm and a set of rules are applied to the image histogram to determine automatically a gray-level threshold between the lung field and mediastinum. The gray-level threshold facilitates anatomically selective gray-scale modification and/or unsharp masking. Further, in an attempt to suppress possible white-band or black-band artifacts due to unsharp masking at sharp edges, local contrast adaptively is incorporated into anatomically selective unsharp masking by designing an anatomy-selective emphasis parameter which varies asymmetrically with positive and negative values of the local image contrast  相似文献

Approximate equations are derived that allow calculation of the component values for a multiple-mode Mason equivalent circuit for acoustic transducers. The experimental approach required to obtain the data from which to derive the equivalent circuit is also described. The equations have been tested for accuracy, and the approach described here yields useful information for the system designer. Iterative procedures can be applied to further refine the calculated values.  相似文献

A technique is described for monitoring and analysis of the angular displacement of the human torso. The technique is based on the use of miniature electromechanical inclinometers and video recording. The system was developed for continuous measurement of the angular displacement of spinal segments in the sagittal plane during all stages of lifting. Angular displacements of the cervical, thoracic and lumbar regions were obtained from a dynamic lifting case study using a digital processing system. The geometrical changes of the torso during five prescribed stages were measured. The system revealed good accuracy with high correlation coefficient scores for a wide range of lifting tasks in a comparative laboratory study. This paper describes the monitoring technique; the system's advantages, disadvantages and measuring accuracy are discussed.  相似文献

The single-event-upset rates due to neutron-induced nuclear recoils have been calculated for Si and GaAs components using the HETC and MCNP codes and the ENDF data base for (n, p) and (n, alpha) reactions. For the same critical charge and sensitive volume, the upset rate in Si exceeds that of GaAs by a factor of about 1.7, mainly because more energy is transferred in neutron interactions with lighter Si nuclei. The upset rates due to neutrons are presented as functions of critical charge and atmospheric altitude. Upsets induced by cosmic-ray nuclei, secondary protons and neutrons are compared.  相似文献

The effects of curing agents on the content of heme pigments (HP) in meat were examined. Minced porcine skeletal muscle was treated with NaCl, NaNO(2) and sodium ascorbate (NaAsA), separately or in combination, and stored at 2-3°C for 7 days. HP content decreased with increase in NaCl concentration and the decrease was about 50% and 80% at NaCl concentrations of 2% and 10%, respectively. Two percent NaCl prevented HP destruction, when previously mixed with 100 ppm NaNO(2) or 0·1% NaAsA. Although some decrease in HP content was noted following application of a mixture of NaCl, NaNO(2) and NaAsA, it was essentially the same as that of the control during 7 days of refrigerated storage. In a model solution containing the same curing agents as those applied to the meat. NaCl had no effect and myoglobin (Mb) content remained constant during storage. From the present results, endogenous muscle constituents appear to act in concert with NaCl to bring about a decrease in HP content.  相似文献
