Butylacrylate (BA)-Styrene (St) copolymers have been synthesized via a semicontinuous emulsion process in which the monomers feeding rate and weight ratios (BA/St) were varied. The feed consisted of only pure monomers which were added to an aqueous solution that contained the emulsifier and initiator The experimental results show that monomer consumption is governed by the feeding rate as well as by the monomer's reactivity, The average molecular weight decreased as the feeding rate increased independent of the BA/St ratio Measurement of the latex average particle size and particle number, as a function of the reaction time. showed a complex sequence of particle formation and agglomeration. In general, the average particle diameter increased in direct proportion to the feeding rate. This fact suggests that most probably homogeneous nucleation is preferred over monomer diffusion to the previously formed particles. Considerable attention has been paid to the dispersion of heat in fixed beds passed by a flowing gas. This is best documented by ample experimental evidence and correlations available in the literature. However, the results of individual studies differ often significantly. As a possible cause of the discrepancies have been put forth various experimental techniques and data processing methods (Gunn, 1970; Froment, 1972; Li and Finlayson, 1977), particularly the use of different mathematical models. As a fact of considerable significance, however, remains the dependence of results on the geometry of the experiment. All parameters of the pseudohomogeneous one- and two-dimensional models have been found to depend on the length of the bed (Li and Finlayson, 1977; De Wasch and Froment, 1972; Bunell el al., 1949; Calderbank and Pogorski, 1957), while their values invariably decrease with the increasing length. In contrast, neither of the existing models predicts such a dependence, nor is there a satisfactory explanation for the phenomenon at hand. The aim of this work has been to carry out experimental measurements of the effective radial thermal conductivity in a fixed bed passed by flowing air and to analyze in detail the length dependence of the results. In 3rd generation partnership project (3GPP) long term evolution (LTE) systems, when no resources has been assigned in the uplink to a given user equipment (UE), the control information associated with layers 1 and 2 in the protocol stack is conveyed back to the base station through the so-called physical uplink control channel (PUCCH). In PUCCH, the data streams transmitted by multiple UEs are multiplexed in the time-domain and in the frequency-domain with the aid of spreading codes. Although the spreading codes associated with UEs within the same cell can be assumed to be orthogonal, the presence of inter-cell interference (ICI) in multi-cell scenarios severely limits receiver performance. In particular, the Format 1 of PUCCH, which is associated with the transmission of hybrid automatic repeat request acknowledgements (ACK/NACK) and scheduling requests, has a major impact on system performance, since an incorrectly decoded ACK/NACK message may introduce significant delay in data transmission. In this contribution, we propose a new multi-user receiver for ICI reduction in PUCCH LTE that operates both in cooperative and non-cooperative multi-cell architectures. The proposed receiver relies on a constrained tensor modeling of the received signal in PUCCH signaling, and affords an iterative joint channel estimation and symbol detection by simultaneously exploiting the energy of the data symbols and the pilot tones present in PUCCH. The formulation of the proposed algebraic receiver model incorporates symbol-basis hopping and slot-basis hopping signaling schemes, which are interference randomization techniques existing in the 3GPP specifications of LTE system. flt3/flk-2 ligand (FL) is a cytokine that exhibits synergistic activities in combination with other early acting factors on subpopulations of hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells. In addition to normal hematopoietic precursors, expression of the FL receptor, flt3R, has been frequently demonstrated on the blast cells from patients with acute B-lineage lymphoblastic, myeloid, and biphenotypic (also known as hybrid or mixed) leukemias. Because many of these leukemic cell types express FL, the possibility has been raised that altered regulation of FL-mediated signaling might contribute to malignant transformation or expansion of the leukemic clone. In humans, FL is predominantly synthesized as a transmembrane protein that must undergo proteolytic cleavage to generate a soluble form. To investigate the consequences of constitutively expressing the analogous murine FL isoform in murine hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, lethally irradiated syngeneic mice (18 total) were engrafted with post-5-fluorouracil-treated bone marrow cells transduced ex vivo with a recombinant retroviral vector (MSCV-FL) encoding murine transmembrane FL. Compared with control mice (8 total), MSCV-FL mice presented with a mild macrocytic anemia but were otherwise healthy for more than 5 months posttransplant (until 22 weeks). Subsequently, all primary MSCV-FL recipients observed for up to 1 year plus 83% (20 of 24) of secondary MSCV-FL animals that had received bone marrow from asymptomatic primary hosts reconstituted for 4 to 5 months developed transplantable hematologic malignancies (with mean latency periods of 30 and 23 weeks, respectively). Phenotypic and molecular analyses indicated that the tumor cells expressed flt3R and displayed B-cell and/or myeloid markers. These data, establishing that dysregulated expression of FL in primitive hematopoietic cells predisposes flt3R+ precursors to leukemic transformation, underscore a potential role of this cytokine/receptor combination in certain human leukemias. 相似文献

Twenty-six patients with squamous cell cancer of the cervix were treated with i.v. paclitaxel, 250 mg/m2 over 3 h every 21 days. They received steroid, H1 and H2 blocker premedications, and granulocyte-colony-stimulating factor (G-CSF) support (5 microgram/kg/day). No prior chemotherapy, except as a radiation sensitizer, was allowed. The median age was 50 (range, 36-81) years, and performance status Zubrod was 1 (range, 0-2). Eight (33%) patients had prior surgery, and 22 (92%) had prior radiation therapy. Twenty-four patients were evaluable for response; 2 were later found to be ineligible. Five patients had partial responses (21%; 95% confidence interval, 6-40%), and 14 (58%; 95% confidence interval, 35-78%) had stable disease. The median duration of response was 10 (range, 3-27+) weeks. The responses were within the radiation port (four responses) and outside of it (one response). The median interval from the start of irradiation to the start of paclitaxel in responding patients was 94 weeks, whereas in patients with stable disease it was 68 weeks, and in patients whose disease progressed it was 46 weeks. Eighty-eight percent of the 105 cycles of paclitaxel were administered at a dose of 250 mg/m2 or higher. Granulocytopenia was brief and noncumulative, with grades 3 and 4 experienced by 5 and 3 patients, respectively. G-CSF was used for a median of 7 (range, 2-14) days/cycle. Anemia was mild, with G3 noted in 3 patients, and thrombocytopenia was not significant. Infections and musculoskeletal pain were mild and infrequent. Sensory (14 patients G1 or G2 and 2 patients G3) and motor (4 patients G1 or G2 and 1 patient G3) neurotoxicity was noted. There was no significant cardiovascular toxicity. Paclitaxel is active in patients with squamous cell cancer of the cervix and is well tolerated at this dose schedule with G-CSF support. 相似文献

The paper outlines N. N. Sirotinin's concept of the use of stepwise adaptation to diminished inspired air pO2 as a non-drug agent for the prevention and treatment of diseases whose pathogenesis hypoxia and their subsequent rehabilitation play a definite role in. A comprehensive study of the impact of reduced pO2 on man and animals has defined the magnitude of its ambient air changes under which a human being may adapt himself to hypoxia, it characterized five stages of hypoxic hypoxia and concluded that an adaptative process is effective in subcompensated and compensated hypoxia. The paper describes the stepwise adaptation proposed by N. N. Sirotinin to treat diseases chiefly caused by hypoxia and his three identified stages of adaptation-a process considered by N. N. Sirotinin and his pupils as a natural response of the respiratory functional system to the changing magnitude of the usually acting stimuli-reduced arterial blood oxygen and carbon dioxide tension. The mechanisms responsible for the favourable impact of stepwise hypoxic adaptation, which are the basis for its wide use in medicine, occupational hygiene, and sports are presented.
