Judging Degradation of Lithium‐Ion Batteries Using a Real‐Time Capacitance Measurement

A novel method was proposed to judge degradation/health of lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) using the capacitance that was estimated from the real‐time voltage and current characteristics of the batteries. It is thought that the capacitance of LIBs decreases with degradation because of undesirable components formed on the electrodes that are the main cause of the degradation. As the LIBs are active, the capacitance was evaluated from the differential equation, ?Q /?v = I /(?v /?t ) = i /(dv /dt ), using the voltage and current characteristics during the charging or discharging. The capacitances of the commercial LIBs with different SOHs; 100%, 92%, and 88% were estimated during the charging and discharging using the equation. The average capacitance in the specific voltage region of the batteries was directly proportional to the state of health. Therefore, the proposed measurement is thought to be a useful method for judging degradation of LIBs.     

Effects of gamma-ray irradiation on electronic and non-electronic equipment of Large Helical Device

In a deuterium operation on the Large Helical Device,the measurement and control equipment placed in the torus hall must survive under an environment of radiation.To study the effects of gamma-ray irradiation on the equipment,an irradiation experiment is performed at the Cobalt-60 irradiation facility of Nagoya University.Transient and permanent effects on a personal computer,media converters,programmable logic controllers,isolation amplifiers,a web camera,optical flow meters,and water sealing gaskets are experimentally surveyed.Transient noise appears on the web camera.Offset of the signal increases with an increase of the integrated dose on the programmable logic controller.The DeviceNet module on the programmable logic controller is broken at the integrated dose of 72 Gy,which is the expected range of the integrated dose of the torus hall.The other equipment can survive under the gamma-ray field in the torus hall.

Meaning of state-space representation and its relation to canonical form Part 2. Controllability and constructibility

State space is one of the key concepts of systems theory. In the previous paper (Nakano et al. 1987) a system-theoretic framework about the choice of a state space was developed and the canonical forms of linear control theory were interpreted. Four realizations of a single-input and single-output discrete basic linear system were constructed. The isomorphism between the realizations and the universal state space representation shows systemic meanings of the state space. In this paper, using the same approach, two other realizations—a controllability realization and a constructibility realization—are constructed. By the matrix representations of these realizations the meanings of the controllability and constructibility canonical forms are shown in relation to the universal state-space representation.     

Experimental study of the modified peniotron using TE,, rectangular waveguide cavity

The modified peniotron is expected to have an extremely high conversion efficiency and a higher output power in centimetre and millimetre wave regions than those of the original peniotron. This paper describes the design considerations of a test tube used for experimental confirmation of its promising features, and shows some experimental results in connection with electron beam and oscillation characteristics obtained up to the present     

有色蔬菜农药多残留检测样品预处理方法研究

以韭菜、油菜、菠菜和胡萝卜为试材,在样品均质前添加石墨粉并采用SPE固相萃取方法进行提取液净化处理,分析其脱色效果,并对样品中72种农药的回收率进行测定,探讨有色蔬菜农药多残留GC-MS检测中的样品预处理方法。颜色较浅样品提取液净化时,用300mg石墨柱与PSA柱串联,可以有效地排除样品提取液中色素的干扰,使94%以上农药的回收率介于60%～120%之间。颜色较深样品除进行上述处理外,在样品均质前添加少量石墨粉,不仅可以获得理想的脱色效果,而且待测农药的吸附损失也较少,90%以上农药的添加回收率在60%～120%范围内,可以达到理想的检测效果。     

RELATIONSHIPS BETWEEN BINDING QUALITY OF MEAT AND MYOFIBRILLAR PROTEINS V. Effect of 'Setting' and Pyrophosphate on Rheological Properties of Heated Minced-Meat Gel

‘Setting’ was observed in minced hen meat stored with 3.5% wt/wt added NaCl. When gels were made from the ‘set’ sol the breaking energy was greatly increased and the relaxation modulus was characterized by a wide ‘quasi-equilibrium’ region. The effect of added pyrophosphate on the rheological properties of the gel prepared at pH 6.0 from ground ‘set’ sol was very similar to that previously observed for ATP in gels prepared at pH 6.0 from ‘unset’ sols. When pyrophosphate or ATP were added at pH 7.0 to the ‘unset’ minced meat sol, the strain at the breaking point and the ratio of the equilibrium to the instantaneous modulus of the heated gel were increased. A comparison with previous results from a model system suggests that pyrophosphate brings about a change in gel structure by dissociating ‘myosin B’ into myosin A and F-actin.
