The receptive fields of simple cells in the visual cortex can be understood as linear filters. These filters can be modeled by Gabor functions or gaussian derivatives. Gabor functions can also be combined in an energy model of the complex cell response. This letter proposes an alternative model of the complex cell, based on gaussian derivatives. It is most important to account for the insensitivity of the complex response to small shifts of the image. The new model uses a linear combination of the first few derivative filters, at a single position, to approximate the first derivative filter, at a series of adjacent positions. The maximum response, over all positions, gives a signal that is insensitive to small shifts of the image. This model, unlike previous approaches, is based on the scale space theory of visual processing. In particular, the complex cell is built from filters that respond to the 2D differential structure of the image. The computational aspects of the new model are studied in one and two dimensions, using the steerability of the gaussian derivatives. The response of the model to basic images, such as edges and gratings, is derived formally. The response to natural images is also evaluated, using statistical measures of shift insensitivity. The neural implementation and predictions of the model are discussed.  相似文献

Iron(II) phthalocyanine (FePc) modified multi-wall carbon nanotubes paste electrodes (MWCNTPEs) were used as voltammetric sensors to selectively detect dopamine (DA) in the presence of serotonin (5-HT). The electrochemical behavior of DA at the new modified electrode was investigated using CV. The enhanced current response of DA indicates that FePc modification of the MWCNTPE surface results in a high catalytic activity for the redox reaction of DA. Differential pulse voltammetry was applied in detection of DA and 5-HT at FePc-MWCNTPE. The method parameters were optimized. Detection limit of 2.05 × 10−7 M was obtained for DA by using the electrocatalytic oxidation signal corresponding to the FeII/FeIII redox process. The separation between the peak potentials of DA and 5-HT is 170 mV which is large enough for the simultaneously, selective determination of the two chemical species in their mixtures. There was no electrochemical response for ascorbic acid (AA) added in the sample. The monoamine neurotransmitter measuring method has been tested in analyzing deproteinized serum samples.  相似文献

This research aims to complex validate radar displacement products over Bucharest based on Global Navigation Satellite System or GNSS. Validation was represented by the comparison of the recent TerraSAR-X (TSX) displacement results with field GNSS data. For this purpose, 24 and 27 high-resolution images acquired from the TSX satellite between 2011 and 2014 were processed by Permanent Scatterer Inteferometry (PSI) and Small BASeline Subset (SBAS) – interferometric techniques using synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images. The images were selected from a larger pool of SAR images, after consulting weather databases, which helped eliminate the images acquired under adverse weather conditions. GNSS locations were cross-checked on high-resolution optical images and 21 ground points (including three permanent stations) were selected. All these points were (1) characterized by high coherence on radar images; (2) were on the ground; (3) were situated in large vacant spaces; and (4) far away from radar obstacles such as trees. A major challenge in achieving the research goal was to overcome the lack of permanent stations at the ground level within the area of Bucharest. Instead of permanent stations, our team designed and installed forced centring systems that remained stable over time, eliminating the instalment errors of GNSS receivers. The line-of-site (LOS) components derived from GNSS data have been compared with those of the SAR scatterers closest to the GNSS markers (never coinciding). For each location, the vertical reading was projected in the LOS of the SAR sensor. These readings were compared with the displacement values determined at the locations of permanent scatterers (PSs) within 100 m from the GNSS nodes, by eliminating all scatterers on buildings. Time-of-flight (TOF) cameras are sensors that can measure the depths of scene points, by illuminating the scene with a controlled laser or LED source and then analyzing the reflected light. In this paper, we will first describe the underlying measurement principles of time-of-flight cameras, including: (1) pulsed-light cameras, which measure directly the time taken for a light pulse to travel from the device to the object and back again, and (2) continuous-wave-modulated light cameras, which measure the phase difference between the emitted and received signals, and hence obtain the travel time indirectly. We review the main existing designs, including prototypes as well as commercially available devices. We also review the relevant camera calibration principles, and how they are applied to TOF devices. Finally, we discuss the benefits and challenges of combined TOF and color camera systems.  相似文献

We present a practical algorithm for computing robust, multiscale curve and surface skeletons of 3D objects. Based on a model which follows an advection principle, we assign to each point on the skeleton a part of the object surface, called the collapse. The size of the collapse is used as a uniform importance measure for the curve and surface skeleton, so that both can be simplified by imposing a single threshold on this intuitive measure. The simplified skeletons are connected by default, without special precautions, due to the monotonicity of the importance measure. The skeletons possess additional desirable properties: They are centered, robust to noise, hierarchical, and provide a natural skeleton-to-boundary mapping. We present a voxel-based algorithm that is straightforward to implement and simple to use. We illustrate our method on several realistic 3D objects.  相似文献

Distribution of electric energy by extruded polymer insulated cables continues to be a subject of outstanding relevance in modern industrialized countries all over the world. Dielectric characterization, conduction modelling and finally diagnostics of polymeric insulations are necessary steps towards the development of reliable and less expensive robust technologies of electric power distribution. This paper is devoted to a detailed experimental/theoretical study of the conductive properties of LDPE affected by different levels of degradation by water trees. Water tree layers of different lengths were grown in accelerated conditions and were characterized by water tree kinetics, time-dependent permittivity and polarization current. The polarization current was found to obey a Curie-von Schweidler law whose parameters were used to characterize the effect of ageing time. A new conduction model that takes into account dipole interactions and was obtained from a two-wells Debye model is presented which allows us to give an interpretation of the effect of ageing. This laboratory study was intended to improve the characterization of service power cables aged by water trees  相似文献

Security is emerging as a growing concern throughout the distributed computing community. Typical solutions entail specialized infrastructure support for authentication, encryption and access control. Mobile applications executing over ad hoc wireless networks present designers with a rather distinct set of security requirements. A totally open setting and limited resources call for lightweight and highly decentralized security solutions. In this paper we propose an approach that relies on extending an existing coordination middleware for mobility (Lime). The need to continue to offer a very simple model of coordination that assures rapid software development led to limiting extensions solely to password protected tuple spaces and per tuple access control. Password distribution and security are relegated to the application realm. Host level security is ensured by the middleware design and relies on standard support provided by the Java system. Secure interactions among agents across hosts are accomplished by careful exploitation of the interceptor pattern and the use of standard encryption. The paper explains the design strategy used to add security support in Lime and its implications for the development of mobile applications over ad hoc networks.  相似文献

The influence of ultraviolet irradiation of different doses (λ > 300 nm) on the structural and color modifications of cotton fabrics painted with four different azo-triazine dyes (Reactive Yellow 143, Reactive Orange 13, Reactive Red 183, and Reactive Red 2) was studied. High irradiation doses up to 3500 J cm?2 led to changes in the dyes structures. Structural changes before and after the complete irradiation were compared by applying FTIR, UV–Vis, and near infrared chemical imaging techniques. Color modifications were also investigated. Color differences significantly increased with the irradiation dose for all the studied samples.  相似文献

Abstract

Three “onion type” double carbon cages (consisting of an inner sp3-hybridized C60 buckminsterfullerene skeleton and an outer larger carbon cage with icosahedral symmetry, with covalent bonds between the carbon atoms of the 5-membered rings) are described and their strain energies are discussed: (i) when the outer cage is a C120 cage derived from buckminsterfullerene by replacing each bond between two six-membered rings by an acetylenic group, the strain is smallest.; (ii) when the same derivation concerns each bond between 5- and 6-membered rings leading to a C180 outer cage, the strain is largest.; (iii) when the outer cage is C180 with benzenoid rings, the strain is intermediate.  相似文献
