The oxidation by H2O2 of 3,4-dihydroxybenzoic acid (3,4-DHB) in aqueous/goethite slurry at varying operating conditions (catalyst load, temperature, pH, substrate and hydrogen peroxide starting concentration) is investigated. At adopted catalyst loads the observed kinetic developments are consistent with a non-radicalic oxidation mechanism involving the interaction between hydrogen peroxide and 3,4-DHB acid both adsorbed on the active sites of the catalyst. Climate change is likely to have a profound effect on many agricultural variables, although the extent of its influence will vary over the course of the annual farm management cycle. Consequently, the effect of different and interconnected physical, technical and economic factors must be modeled in order to estimate the effects of climate change on agricultural productivity. Such modeling commonly makes use of indicators that summarize the among environmental factors that are considered when farmers plan their activities. This study uses net evapotranspiration (ETN), estimated using EPIC, as a proxy index for the physical factors considered by farmers when managing irrigation. Recent trends suggest that the probability distribution function of ETN may continue to change in the near future due to changes in the irrigation needs of crops. Also, water availability may continue to vary due to changes in the rainfall regime. The impacts of the uncertainties related to these changes on costs are evaluated using a Discrete Stochastic Programming model representing an irrigable Mediterranean area where limited water is supplied from a reservoir. In this context, adaptation to climate change can be best supported by improvements to the collective irrigation systems, rather than by measures aimed at individual farms such as those contained within the rural development policy. 相似文献

The synthesis of a fully aromatic oligoamide by low temperature interfacial polycondensation between terephthaloyl chloride and 1,4-phenylenediamine is reported. The reaction product was characterized with respect to its physical properties and chemical structure by infrared, X-rays, electron spectroscopy for chemical analysis (ESCA), and mass spectroscopic techniques. This paper describes the results of an intercomparison of spectroradiometers for global and direct normal incidence irradiance in the visible and near‐infrared spectral regions together with an assessment of the impact these results may have on the estimation of the short‐circuit current (ISC) calibration of photovoltaic devices and on the spectral mismatch calculation. The intercomparison was conducted in the framework of the European project Apollon with the additional participation of external partners from the Italian project for the long‐term monitoring of solar radiation for photovoltaics. Six institutions and six spectroradiometer systems, representing different technologies and manufacturers, were involved. Prior to the intercomparison, all participating partners calibrated their own instrument(s) according to their usual procedures in order to verify the entire measuring and traceability chain. The difference in measured spectra shape and amplitude showed to have an impact on ISC calculation of less than 3% and less than 6% for single‐junction and multi‐junction devices, respectively. When only the shape of the spectra is considered, the spectral mismatch ranges from 1.7% to 4.7% depending on the spectral response of the device. Copyright © 2013 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd. 相似文献

Nowadays, the construction sector is more and more oriented toward the promotion of sustainability in all its activities.
The goal to achieve is the optimization of performances, over the whole life-cycle, with respect to environmental, economic
and social requirements. According to the latest advances, the concept of sustainability applied to constructions covers a
number of branches such as life-cycle costing, ecology, durability and even structural design. Several procedures and design
tools have been implemented in the framework of international research. Indeed the current trend in civil engineering research
is moving towards life-time engineering, with the aim to implement integrated methodologies to consider as a whole all the
sustainability requirements according to time-dependent multi-performance-based design approaches. Following a general introduction
of the concept of sustainability applied to constructions, this paper presents an overview of life-time engineering methodologies
according to the current state-of-the-art. In particular the methods currently received by International Standards are discussed.
A special focus is devoted to the durability design of metal structures with respect to the degradation phenomena able to
impair the structural capacity over time. Finally a proposal towards an integrated approach to life-time engineering design

Composition of bacterial and archaeal communities in freshwater sediments with different contamination levels (Lake Geneva, Switzerland) 总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6
The aim of this study was to compare the composition of bacterial and archaeal communities in contaminated sediments (Vidy Bay) with uncontaminated sediments (Ouchy area) of Lake Geneva using 16S rRNA clone libraries. Sediments of both sites were analysed for physicochemical characteristics including porewater composition, organic carbon, and heavy metals. Results show high concentrations of contaminants in sediments from Vidy. Particularly, high contents of fresh organic matter and nutrients led to intense mineralisation, which was dominated by sulphate-reduction and methanogenesis. The bacterial diversity in Vidy sediments was significantly different from the communities in the uncontaminated sediments. Phylogenetic analysis revealed a large proportion of Betaproteobacteria clones in Vidy sediments related to Dechloromonas sp., a group of dechlorinating and contaminant degrading bacteria. Deltaproteobacteria, including clones related to sulphate-reducing bacteria and Fe(III)-reducing bacteria (Geobacter sp.) were also more abundant in the contaminated sediments. The archaeal communities consisted essentially of methanogenic Euryarchaeota, mainly found in the contaminated sediments rich in organic matter. Multiple factor analysis revealed that the microbial community composition and the environmental variables were correlated at the two sites, which suggests that in addition to environmental parameters, pollution may be one of the factors affecting microbial community structure. 相似文献

Evaluation of gamma rays influence on some biochemical and microbiological aspects in black truffles

The effects of two gamma-ray doses (1.5 kGy and 2.0 kGy) on some biochemical aspects and on the microbiological profile of black truffles was monitored, immediately after treatment and after 30 days of storage at 4 °C. Electrophoretic and chromatographic analyses of proteins and peptides, just like monitoring of polyphenol content, peroxides formation and microbial profile, allowed for the first time a better understanding of the mechanisms responsible for biochemical alterations and bacterial pattern in black truffles during their storage. Treatment at 1.5 kGy appeared to better preserve the characteristics of the fresh product. In 2.0 kGy-samples, the protein profile was characterised by a 20 kDa-polypeptide, which could be considered as an useful marker of the irradiation treatment and of the storage time of the product. MALDI-TOF mass spectrometry analysis did not permit a correct identification from tryptic peptides in databases, although the nano-ES/MS/MS analyses performed on the 10 kDa tryptic digest peptides showed an amino acidic sequence entirely contained in a protein of filamentous fungus Neurospora crassa. 相似文献

The oxidative dehydrogenation of ethane is carried out in short contact time reactors over Pt and LaMnO3 based catalysts supported on a large number of different ceramic substrates (45, 60 and 80 ppi foam monoliths and 200, 400, 600, 900 and 1200 cpsi honeycomb monoliths). Experimental results, obtained under the same conditions at varying the C2H6/O2 ratio, showed that the highest performance in terms of ethylene selectivity and yield is always attained on LaMnO3 catalysts. Furthermore, the results are significantly influenced by the morphology and cell density of the support, with 45 and 60 ppi foams and 400 and 600 cpsi honeycombs giving the best performance. The experimental results are explained by means of geometrical and fluid dynamic considerations on the support, and by means of a 2D mathematical model, which clearly indicates an optimal intermediate cell density for maximising ethylene selectivity and yield. 相似文献

LFB1/HNF1 and LFB3/HNF1ß bind DNA as dimers and formheterodimers together in vivo and in vitro. The dimerizationdomain has been located in both proteins in the 32 N-terminalresidues. In previous papers we have described the conformationalstability as determined by CD and the secondary structure byNMR studies of a peptide with the amino acid sequence of thedimerization domain of LFB1/ HNF1. This study presents a morecomplete characterization of similar synthetic peptides spanningthe LFB3/HNF1ß dimerization domain and the /ßheterodimer. The HNF1 peptides represent an example of structureswhich cannot be determined by NOE data alone because they arenot sufficient to define one unique solution. An approach ispresented which combines NMR data, the protein structure databaseand structural analyses according to known principles of proteinstructure.
