A noncentrosymmetric crystal was prepared from 2-amino-5-nitropyridine (2A5NP) and p-Phenolsulfonic acid, which was designed for second harmonic generation. Good quality single crystals of 2-amino-5-nitropyridinium Phenolsulfonate (2A5NPP) were successfully grown by the slow evaporation method with dimensions 10 × 4 × 3 mm3. The unit cell dimensions were determined from single crystal X-ray diffraction studies. The structural perfection of the grown crystals has been analyzed by high-resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD) rocking curve measurements. Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectral studies have been performed to identify the functional groups. The optical transmittance window and the lower cutoff wavelength of the 2A5NPP have been identified by UV-vis-NIR studies. Thermo gravimetric analysis (TGA) and differential thermal analysis (DTA) were used to study its thermal properties. Powder test with Nd:YAG laser radiation shows a high second harmonic generation. The laser induced surface damage threshold for the grown crystal was measured using Nd:YAG laser.  相似文献

Rapidly growing research reveals complex yet systematic consequences of collaboration on memory in young adults, but much less is known about this phenomenon in older adults. Young and older adults studied a list of categorized words and took three successive recall tests. Test 1 and 3 were always taken individually, and Test 2 was done either in triads or alone. Despite older adults recalling less overall than young adults, both age groups exhibited similar costs and benefits of collaboration: Collaboration reduced both correct and false recall during collaborative remembering, was associated with more positive beliefs about its value, and produced reminiscence, collective memory, and some forgetting in its cascading effects on postcollaborative recall. We examine the role of retrieval organization in these effects. As environmental support may play a substantial role in healthy aging, the relatively preserved effects of collaboration on memory in older adults hold promise for testing judicious uses of group remembering in aging. The content of natural radionuclides (238U, 232Th, 40K) in sediment samples of Ponnaiyar River, taken from different depths, were determined using a γ-ray spectroscopic system with a NaI(TI) detector with an aim of evaluating the radiation hazard. The results are compared with Indian and world average values. To know the complete radiological characteristics, the radiological indices such as absorbed dose rate, annual effective dose equivalent (indoor and outdoor), radium equivalent activity, hazard index (H ex and H in), γ-index, activity utilization index, and excess lifetime cancer risk were calculated. The results obtained were discussed and compared with the recommended values. The outdoor γ-dose rates were measured at each sampling site using an environmental radiation dosimeter. The measured results were compared with literature values and correlated with the calculated absorbed dose rate. Averages of all the radiation hazard indices and concentrations of all the measured radionuclides in all the layers are lower than the recommended level. The origin of the detected radionuclides is assessed by comparing the present results with the corresponding values for the earth crust and other rock formations.  相似文献

Ozonation in batch experiments were conducted at elevated temperatures to study the influence of temperature on the efficiency of ozonation. The effect of temperature on ozonation was determined by measuring the extent of colour removal and the reduction of chemical oxygen demand (COD) and total organic carbon (TOC) of a textile waste effluent. It was found that increasing the temperature causes a decrease in the levels of colour, COD and TOC. Complete mineralisation of the dye molecule, however, did not occur to an appreciable extent. The efficiency of colour removal was 71.3%, whilst the COD and TOC reduction efficiency was 20.3 and 19.3%, respectively, at the highest temperature studied (50 °C). The removal efficiency of COD, however, did not improve significantly when the temperature was increased from 40 to 50 °C.  相似文献

AIMS: To investigate the effect of the angiotensin converting enzyme inhibitor, benazepril, on pulmonary function. METHODS: We investigated the influence of benazepril, on lung function and the interaction with inhaled salbutamol (0.1 to 6.6 mg) and histamine (0.03 to 30.69 g l-1) in normal subjects. Benazepril 20 mg, salbutamol 8 mg, propranolol 160 mg, and placebo were given orally once daily over 10 days. RESULTS: On day 8, there was no difference in the area under the salbutamol dose-response curves between benazepril, placebo and oral salbutamol (P > 0.05), propranolol shifted the curves to the right (P < 0.05). On day 10, histamine challenge resulted in following PD35sGaw values (geometric mean and 95% CI): with placebo 1.02 (0.95-1.09) g l-1, benazepril 1.04 (0.99-1.08), salbutamol 1.19 (1.13-1.25), propranolol 0.57 (0.50-0.65). CONCLUSIONS: Benazepril had no influence on baseline lung function, caused no interaction with inhaled salbutamol and the bronchial response to histamine was similar to placebo. However, our findings in normal subjects cannot be extrapolated automatically to asthmatics.  相似文献
