Emotion recognition from speech signals is an interesting research with several applications like smart healthcare, autonomous voice response systems, assessing situational seriousness by caller affective state analysis in emergency centers, and other smart affective services. In this paper, we present a study of speech emotion recognition based on the features extracted from spectrograms using a deep convolutional neural network (CNN) with rectangular kernels. Typically, CNNs have square shaped kernels and pooling operators at various layers, which are suited for 2D image data. However, in case of spectrograms, the information is encoded in a slightly different manner. Time is represented along the x-axis and y-axis shows frequency of the speech signal, whereas, the amplitude is indicated by the intensity value in the spectrogram at a particular position. To analyze speech through spectrograms, we propose rectangular kernels of varying shapes and sizes, along with max pooling in rectangular neighborhoods, to extract discriminative features. The proposed scheme effectively learns discriminative features from speech spectrograms and performs better than many state-of-the-art techniques when evaluated its performance on Emo-DB and Korean speech dataset.
The present study was conducted on characterization of morpho‐anatomical, phytochemical, and bio‐elemental analysis of root, stem, and leaf of Verbascum thapsus. Morphologically Verbascum is a biennial plant that flowers for a month and a half in mid‐ to late summer. Various organoleptic features of root, leaf, and stem were recorded. Anatomically the T. S of the root, stem, and leaf showed a typical dicot histological differentiation. Leaf possessed anomocytic stomata, crescent shape vascular bundles, and covered with long and stellate type trichomes while, stem contained collateral type of vascular bundles and a well‐developed pith to store phytochemicals responsible for various pharmacological activities. The powder drug study through scanning electron microscopy revealed the presence of various types of tissues. Branched, tree like and stellate trichomes in root and leaf help in absorption and reduce loss of water. These anatomical features are responsible for the survival of the plant as biennial. Four macro elements (Na, K, Ca, and Mg) and seven microelements (Cr, Cu, Fe, Mn, Ni, Zn, and Cd) and their concentrations in ppm were also studied using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. Phytochemical screening of methanolic extract showed existence of various secondary metabolites, while mucilage and anthraquinones was not detected. The present study helps to understand the taxonomic identification of the plant based on morpho‐anatomical features and throws the attention of the researchers to carry out the work for developing its various formulations, which can ultimately be beneficial for the human beings as well as animals. 相似文献
The present study focused to elucidate the promising role of probiotics in the fish culture, by employing microscopic and biochemical parameters to rationalize the possible outcomes. After preliminary feeding trial histopathological analysis revealed clear and visible changes in the intestinal and liver cells of CTRL (control group) compared to probiotics supplemented group, the bacterial inoculations resulted in shorten and swelled villi, while liver kupffer cells increased many folds in the CTRL. Moreover, there was clear hypertrophy and lamellar fusion in the gills tissues examined under microscope. Furthermore, intriguing results were obtained, such as a substantial increase in the weight gain, specific growth rate (%BW/day), FCE%, survival%, and improved secretions of amylase, cellulase, and protease activities. Likewise, high crude protein, fats content, while low moisture and total Ash was noticed in EXP I (Probiotics supplemented) compared to CTRL. The microscopic and biochemical analysis disclosed the positive role of probiotics on the fish health, thus we suggest its supplementations in the fish diet. 相似文献
Spatial channel models are often proposed for modeling the angular aspects of mobile radio channel in picocell, microcell, and macrocellular environments. These models are validated through comparison with available measurement results. The comparisons are usually based on the fitness of their pdfs of angle of arrival to the histogram of occurrences of the signals over an angular span, given in the measurement data. This paper presents a comparison of the notable scattering models with various spatial channel measurements. The paper suggests criteria for the comparative analysis of the previously proposed spatial channel models and measurements on the basis of their fading statistics. Quantitative analysis of the considered models and the field measurements is also presented using multipath shape factors i.e. angle spread, the angular constriction and direction of maximum fading. Based on the obtained shape factors, fading statistics like level crossing rates, average fade duration, auto-covariance and coherence distance are evaluated. Effect of increasing Doppler spread on the level crossing rates and average fade duration is also elaborated in detail. 相似文献
The syntheses of nanosized carbonated hydroxyapatite(CHA) were performed by comparing dropwise and direct pouring of acetone solution of Ca(N03)2-4H20 into mixture of(NH4)2HP04 and NH4HCO3 at room temperature controlled at pH 11.Direct pouring method was later applied to study the increment of carbonate content in syntheses. The as-synthesized powders were characterized by various characterization techniques. The crystallographic results of the produced powders were obtained from X-ray diffraction analysis, whilst the carbonate content in the produced powders was determined by the CHNS/O elemental analyzer.Fourier transform infrared analysis confirmed that the CHA powders formed were B-type.Field emission scanning electron microscopy revealed that the powders were highly agglomerated in nanosized range and hence energy filtered transmission electron microscopy was employed to show elongated particles which decreased with increasing carbonate content. 相似文献
Mechanistic numerical analysis and molecular dynamics (MD) simulation are employed to understand the material detachment mechanism associated with chemical mechanical polishing. We investigate the mechanics of scratch intersection mechanism to obtain a characteristic length scale and compare the theoretical predictions with previous experimental observations on ductile copper discs at the micro-scale. First, an analytical model is developed based on mechanics of materials approach. The analytical model includes the effects of strain hardening during material removal as well as the geometry of indenter tip. In the next step, molecular simulations of the scratch intersection are performed at the atomistic scale. The embedded atom method (EAM) is utilized as the force field for workpiece material and a simplified tool-workpiece interaction is assumed to simulate material removal through scratch intersection mechanism. Both models are utilized to predict a characteristic length of material detachment related to material removal during scratch intersection. The predictions from two approaches are compared with experimental observations in order to draw correlations between experiment and simulation. The insights obtained from this work may assist in understanding the mechanism for chemical mechanical planarization (CMP), and even be applied to other different machining and polishing events. 相似文献
Social media usage among organizations is growing tremendously. Organizations are now building and maintaining social media public pages to improve their social network salience, enhance interest in their organizations, and build relationships with the online public. The majority of the studies on social media usage are based on the individual perspective while some are from the organizational perspective. However, not many studies have investigated the actual impact of social media usage on organizational performance. Therefore, using the qualitative approach, this study investigates the various purposes of social media usage and its impact on organizational performance. This study however, focuses only on the social media managers’ views. The senior managers of six organizations that are using social media are interviewed from which we find that social media is used for various purposes in organizations, such as advertising and promotion, branding, information search, building customer relations and many more. The results also show that social media has a greater impact on the performance of organizations in terms of enhancement in customer relations and customer service activities, improvement in information accessibility and cost reduction in terms of marketing and customer service. 相似文献
