Addressing sexuality issues is an inherent part of being a professional psychologist. A survey of training directors revealed that, although about one half of the doctoral programs covered at least some sexuality topics within courses, 19% to 21% of programs did not offer any training with regard to sexual dysfunction, therapy with gay clients, and HIV-AIDS. Sexuality training was even less likely in predoctoral internships. Sexuality training was unrelated to size of the program but was a function of the number of faculty with relevant expertise. Psychologists with adequate knowledge and comfort regarding sexuality will be better able to serve clients and avoid ethical pitfalls. Organic coatings often contain sufficient pigmentation that the pigment volume concentration (PVC) and the critical PVC (CPVC) must be carefully considered. Past work has shown that the CPVC can be identified with the random densest packing of pigment particles after considerations of the adsorbed polymer layer on the particles is taken into account, and that this packing can be predicted by empirical particle packing algorithms developed for mixtures of particle sizes. Recent studies have shown that local fluctuations of pigment and polymer concentrations in a film can lead to local film volumes that can exceed the CPVC even though the average PVC for the whole film (the global PVC) is below the CPVC. These effects are consistent with observations of void formation in films below the CPVC, and can be analyzed by local film statistics. We have also recently performed simulations of particle packing by the compression of multiple hard spheres that allows further insight into local concentration fluctuations in PVC within a film. 相似文献

The determination of toxic components from fire gases is difficult because the environment is hot, reactions are often temperature dependent, and a lot of soot may be produced. Due to the different properties of the gas components, a different time‐consuming procedure for each species has traditionally been used. The use of FTIR (Fourier transform infrared) spectrometers as a continuous monitoring technique overcomes many of the problems in smoke gas analyses. FTIR offers an opportunity to set up a calibration and prediction method for each gas showing a characteristic spectral band in the infrared region of the spectrum. The objective of the SAFIR project was to further develop the FTIR gas analysis of smoke gases to be an applicable and reliable method for the determination of toxic components in combustion gases related to fire test conditions. The optimum probe design, filter parameters and the most suitable sampling lines in terms of flow rate, diameter, construction material and operating temperature have been specified. In the large scale, special concern was given to the probe design and the effects of the probe location as well as practical considerations of the sampling line length. Quantitative calibration and prediction methods have been constructed for different components present in smoke gases. Recommendations on how to deal with interferents, non‐linearities and outliers have been provided and a verification method for the spectrometer for unexpected variations and for the different models have been described. FTIR measurement procedures in different fire test scenarios have been studied using the recommendations of this project for measurement techniques and analysis and an interlaboratory trial of the FTIR technique in smoke gas analysis was carried out to define the repeatability and reproducibility of the method in connection with a small scale fire test method, the cone calorimeter. The interaction of oblique incident waves with infinite number of perforated caissons is investigated. The fluid domain is divided into infinite sub-domains by the caissons, and eigen-function expansion is applied to expand velocity potentials in each domain. A phase relation is introduced for wave oscillation in each caisson, and the structure geometry is considered in constructing the models of reflection waves. The reflected waves with the present analysis include all of the waves traveling in different directions when incident wave period is short. Numerical examinations show that velocities at the inner and outer sides of the front walls of caissons are close to each other, and reflection coefficients satisfy the energy conservation relation very well when porous effect parameter is infinite. Numerical results show that the reflection coefficients of oblique incident waves are smaller for shorter caissons at low frequency, and decrease with the increase of wave incident angle. 相似文献

Ignition delay times have been measured for mixtures of n-propylbenzene in air (≈21% O2, ≈79% N2) at equivalence ratios of 0.29, 0.48, 0.96 and 1.92 and at reflected shock pressures of 1, 10 and 30 atm in a heated high-pressure shock tube over a wide temperature range (1000–1600 K). The effects of reflected shock pressure and of equivalence ratio on ignition delay time were determined and common trends highlighted. Simulations were carried out using the n-propylbenzene sub-mechanism contained in an n-butylbenzene reaction mechanism available in the literature. This kinetic model was improved by including pressure dependent reactions which were not in place previously and the addition of the NUI Galway C0–C4 sub-mechanism. These simulations showed very good agreement with the experimental data. Additionally a comparison is made with experimental data previously obtained and published for n-butylbenzene over the same range of conditions and common trends are highlighted. 相似文献
