Global 8 km resolution AVHRR (advanced very high resolution radiometer) NDVI (normalized difference vegetation index) 10‐day composite data sets have been used for numerous local to global scale vegetation time series studies during recent years. AVHRR Pathfinder (PAL) NDVI was available from 1981 until 2001, and the new AVHRR GIMMS NDVI was available from 1981 to the present time. A number of aspects potentially introduce noise in the NDVI data set due to the AVHRR sensor design and data processing. NDVI from SPOT‐4 VGT data is considered an improvement over AVHRR, and for this reason it is important to examine how and if the differences in sensor design and processing influence continental scale NDVI composite products. In this study, the quality of these AVHRR NDVI time series are evaluated by the continental scale 1 km resolution SPOT‐4 vegetation (VGT) 10‐day composite (S10) NDVI data. Three years of AVHRR PAL (1998–2000) and seven years of GIMMS (1998–2004) have been compared to 8 km resampled SPOT‐4 VGT (1998–2004) data. The dynamic range of SPOT‐4 VGT NDVI tends to be higher than the AVHRR PAL NDVI, whereas there is an exact match between AVHRR GIMMS NDVI and SPOT‐4 VGT NDVI. Ortho‐regression analysis on annually integrated values of AVHRR PAL/GIMMS and SPOT‐4 VGT on a continental scale reveals high correlations amongst the AVHRR and the SPOT data set, with lowest RMSE (root mean square error) on the GIMMS/SPOT‐4 VGT compared to the PAL/SPOT‐4 VGT.

Analyses on decade data likewise show that a linear relation exists between Spot‐4 VGT NDVI and the two AVHRR composite products; GIMMS explaining most of the Spot‐4 VGT NDVI variance compared to PAL. These results show that the AVHRR GIMMS NDVI is more consistent with Spot‐4 VGT NDVI compared to AVHRR PAL versus Spot‐4 VGT NDVI (in terms of RMSE and dynamic range) and can therefore be considered the more accurate long time AVHRR data record. Analyses performed on monthly maximum composites and decade composite data, however, reveal intra‐annual variations in the correlation between SPOT‐4 VGT and the two AVHRR data sets, which are attributed to different cloud masking algorithms. The SPOT‐4 VGT cloud‐screening algorithm is insufficient, thereby suppressing the rainy season NDVI.  相似文献

Estimation of diurnal air temperature using MSG SEVIRI data in West Africa   总被引:6,自引:0,他引:6  
Spatially distributed air temperature data with high temporal resolution are desired for several modeling applications. By exploiting the thermal split window channels in combination with the red and near infrared channels of the geostationary MSG SEVIRI sensor, multiple daily air temperature estimates can be achieved using the contextual temperature-vegetation index method. Air temperature was estimated for 436 image acquisitions during the 2005 rainy season over West Africa and evaluated against in situ data from a field test site in Dahra, Northern Senegal. The methodology was adjusted using data from the test site resulting in RMSE = 2.55 K, MBE = − 0.30 K and R2 = 0.63 for the estimated versus observed air temperatures. A spatial validation of the method using 12 synoptic weather stations from Senegal and Mali within the Senegal River basin resulted in overall values of RMSE = 2.96 K, MBE = − 1.11 K and R2 = 0.68. The daytime temperature curve is interpolated using a sine function based on the multiple daily air temperature estimates from the SEVIRI data. These estimates (covering the 8:00-20:00 UCT time window) were in good agreement with observed values with RMSE = 2.99 K, MBE = − 0.70 K and R2 = 0.64. The temperature-vegetation index method was applied as a moving window technique to produce distributed maps of air temperature with 15 min intervals and 3 km spatial resolution for application in a distributed hydrological model.  相似文献

Human wild type (wt) cardiac α-actin and its mutants p.A295S or p.R312H and p.E361G correlated with hypertrophic or dilated cardiomyopathy, respectively, were expressed by using the baculovirus/Sf21 insect cell system. The c-actin variants inhibited DNase I, indicating maintenance of their native state. Electron microscopy showed the formation of normal appearing actin filaments though they showed mutant specific differences in length and straightness correlating with their polymerization rates. TRITC-phalloidin staining showed that p.A295S and p.R312H exhibited reduced and the p.E361G mutant increased lengths of their formed filaments. Decoration of c-actins with cardiac tropomyosin (cTm) and troponin (cTn) conveyed Ca2+-sensitivity of the myosin-S1 ATPase stimulation, which was higher for the HCM p.A295S mutant and lower for the DCM p.R312H and p.E361G mutants than for wt c-actin. The lower Ca2+-sensitivity of myosin-S1 stimulation by both DCM actin mutants was corrected by the addition of levosimendan. Ca2+-dependency of the movement of pyrene-labeled cTm along polymerized c-actin variants decorated with cTn corresponded to the relations observed for the myosin-S1 ATPase stimulation though shifted to lower Ca2+-concentrations. The N-terminal C0C2 domain of cardiac myosin-binding protein-C increased the Ca2+-sensitivity of the pyrene-cTM movement of bovine, recombinant wt, p.A295S, and p.E361G c-actins, but not of the p.R312H mutant, suggesting decreased affinity to cTm.  相似文献

A way to maintain an adequate vitamin D status is through supplementation. Demonstration of blood-metabolome rhythmicity of vitamin D3 post-dosing effects is lacking in the pharmaco-metabonomics area. Thus, the overall aim of this study was to investigate the diurnal changes in the blood metabolome and how these are affected by vitamin D3 supplementation. The study was conducted as a crossover study, and the treatment included 200 µg (8000 IU) of vitamin D3 as compared with placebo with a washout period of at least 10 days. The participants were postmenopausal women aged 60–80 years (N = 29) with vitamin D insufficiency (serum 25-hydroxyvitamin D < 50 nmol/L) but otherwise healthy. During the intervention day, blood samples were taken at 0 h, 2 h, 4 h, 6 h, 8 h, 10 h, 12 h, and 24 h, and plasma was analysed by proton nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectroscopy as a metabolomics approach. In general, diurnal effects were identified for the majority of the 20 quantified metabolites, and hierarchical cluster analysis revealed a change in the overall plasma metabolome around 12 AM (6 h after intervention), suggesting that the diurnal rhythm is reflected in two diurnal plasma metabolomes; a morning metabolome (8–12 AM) and an afternoon/evening metabolome (2–8 PM). Overall, the effect of vitamin D supplementation on the blood metabolome was minor, with no effect on the diurnal rhythm. However, a significant effect of the vitamin D supplementation on plasma acetone levels was identified. Collectively, our findings reveal an influence of diurnal rhythm on the plasma metabolome, while vitamin D supplementation appears to have minor influence on fluctuations in the plasma metabolome.  相似文献

H2 thresholds for microbial respiration of arsenate (As(V)) were investigated in a pure culture of Sulfurospirillum arsenophilum. H2 was consumed to threshold concentrations of 0.03-0.09 nmol/L with As(V) as terminal electron acceptor, allowing for a Gibbs free-energy yield of 36-41 kJ per mol of reaction. These thresholds are among the lowest measured for anaerobic respirers and fall into the range of denitrifiers or Fe(III)-reducers. In sediments from an arsenic-contaminated aquifer in the Red River flood plain, Vietnam, H2 levels decreased to 0.4-2 nmol/L when As(V) was added under anoxic conditions. When As-(V) was depleted, H2 concentrations rebounded by a factor of 10, a level similar to that observed in arsenic-free controls. The sediment-associated microbial population completely reduced millimolar levels of As(V) to arsenite (As-(III)) within a few days. The rate of As(V)-reduction was essentially the same in sediments amended with a pure culture of S. arsenophilum. These findings together with a review of observed H2 threshold and steady-state values suggest that microbial As(V)-respirers have a competitive advantage over several other anaerobic respirers through their ability to thrive at low H2 levels.  相似文献

Nanosized Na2Ti3O7, K2Ti6O13 and Cs2Ti6O13 materials were prepared and used as supports of ruthenium nanoparticles for catalytic ammonia decomposition. It is shown that these catalysts exhibit higher catalytic activity than ruthenium supported on TiO2 nanoparticles promoted with cesium. The difference is attributed to the use of nanostructured materials with incorporated alkali metals in the crystal lattice, which apparently gives a higher effect of the promoter. All samples were characterized by X-ray powder diffraction, transmission electron microscopy and N2 physisorption measurements. Furthermore, the effect of ruthenium loading on the catalytic decomposition of ammonia was investigated.  相似文献

The majority of the human proteome is subjected to N-terminal (Nt) acetylation catalysed by N-terminal acetyltransferases (NATs). The NatA complex is composed of two core subunits—the catalytic subunit NAA10 and the ribosomal anchor NAA15. Furthermore, NAA10 may also have catalytic and non-catalytic roles independent of NatA. Several inherited and de novo NAA10 variants have been associated with genetic disease in humans. In this study, we present a functional analysis of two de novo NAA10 variants, c.29A>G p.(D10G) and c.32T>G p.(L11R), previously identified in a male and a female, respectively. Both of these neighbouring amino acids are highly conserved in NAA10. Immunoprecipitation experiments revealed that both variants hamper complex formation with NAA15 and are thus likely to impair NatA-mediated Nt-acetylation in vivo. Despite their common impact on NatA formation, in vitro Nt-acetylation assays showed that the variants had opposing impacts on NAA10 catalytic activity. While NAA10 c.29A>G p.(D10G) exhibits normal intrinsic NatA activity and reduced monomeric NAA10 NAT activity, NAA10 c.32T>G p.(L11R) displays reduced NatA activity and normal NAA10 NAT activity. This study expands the scope of research into the functional consequences of NAA10 variants and underlines the importance of understanding the diverse cellular roles of NAA10 in disease mechanisms.  相似文献
