The paper addresses the problem of jointly scheduling tasks with both hard and soft real time constraints. We present a new analysis applicable to systems scheduled using a priority preemptive dispatcher, with priorities assigned dynamically according to the EDF policy. Further, we present a new efficient online algorithm (the acceptor algorithm) for servicing aperiodic work load. The acceptor transforms a soft aperiodic task into a hard one by assigning a deadline. Once transformed, aperiodic tasks are handled in exactly the same way as periodic tasks with hard deadlines. The proposed algorithm is shown to be optimal in terms of providing the shortest aperiodic response time among fixed and dynamic priority schedulers. It always guarantees the proper execution of periodic hard tasks. The approach is composed of two parts: an offline analysis and a run time scheduler. Doctor blades are commonly used in paper machines to keep the surface of rollers clean. Due to higher demanding conditions, the requirements for doctor blades have steadily increased. The wear rates must remain low, while simultaneously their cleaning function has to be ensured. For this reason, the paper industry has developed a high degree of empirical knowledge concerning the cleaning of roller surfaces. However, up to now, no systematic approach has been successfully applied to optimize the cleaning performance of the doctor blade-roller tribosystem. This study presents an attempt to model the system based on the force equilibrium conditions at the blade tip between hydrodynamic and contact forces. The change of the blade geometry due to wear is also taken into account. By these means, a non-dimensional group involving the key parameters is obtained. This allows for a systematic improvement of the cleaning efficiency, by targeted changes of the process parameters.  相似文献

In this study, a total of 163 young-bull carcasses belonging to seven Spanish native beef cattle breeds showing substantial carcass variation were photographed in order to obtain digital assessments of carcass dimensions and profiles. This dataset was then analysed using machine learning (ML) methodologies to ascertain the influence of carcass profiles on the grade obtained using the SEUROP system. To achieve this goal, carcasses were obtained using the same standard feeding regime and classified homogeneous conditions in order to avoid non-linear behaviour in grading performance. Carcass weight affects grading to a large extent and the classification error obtained when this attribute was included in the training sets was consistently lower than when it was not. However, carcass profile information was considered non-relevant by the ML algorithm in earlier stages of the analysis. Furthermore, when carcass weight was taken into account, the ML algorithm used only easy-to-measure attributes to clone the classifiers decisions. Here we confirm the possibility of designing a more objective and easy-to-interpret system to classify the most common types of carcass in the territory of the EU using only a few single attributes that are easily obtained in an industrial environment.  相似文献

A distributed video-on-demand system (DVoD) with multiple server-nodes is a cost-effective and fault-tolerant solution for a high scalable enterprise video-on-demand (VoD) system. However, such a server-oriented design is highly vulnerable to workload variations given that the service capacity is limited. Peer-to-Peer (P2P) has been introduced as an architectural solution with self-growing capacity. However, the characteristics of a pure P2P system such as the peer transient nature and high network overhead make this kind of architecture unsuitable for a fully interactive VoD system. In this paper, we propose a new efficient integrated VoD architecture, called DPn2PmDPn2Pm, that combines DVoD with a P2P system and multicast communications. The DVoD’s server-nodes provide a minimum required quality of service (QoS) and the P2P system is able to offer the mechanism to increase the system service capacity according to client demands. Multicast communication, wherever it is possible, is effectively exploited by our P2P system. In our design, each client is able to send video information to a set of mm clients using only one multicast channel. Furthermore, the collaboration mechanism is able to coordinate a set of clients to create one collaboration group to replace the server, providing an extensive, efficient and low network-overhead collaboration mechanism from nn-peers to mm-peers. Regardless of the video the client is watching, our P2P scheme allows every active client to collaborate with the server. The P2P scheme is complemented with recovery mechanisms that are able to replace the failed client before affecting the QoS, offering continuous playback. The proposed approach has been broadly evaluated, firstly using a mathematical model to derive the theoretical performance and secondly using a simulation environment to analyze the system’s dynamic behavior, the VCR interaction impact and the client failures. Comparing DPn2PmDPn2Pm with other DVoD architectures and the most relevant P2P delivery policies, we show that our design is an improvement on previous solutions, providing a higher scalability.  相似文献

The effects of task conflict on group effectiveness are far from conclusive. In order to further clarify this relationship, a contingency approach has been suggested. In this context, the present study examines the roles of group potency and information and communication technologies (ICTs) in the relationship between task conflict and team effectiveness. The study involved 44 groups of 4 members each, working in two communication media. Twenty-two groups worked in a face-to-face condition, and the other 22 groups worked in a computer-mediated communication condition. The groups developed a project during four weekly sessions over a one-month period. The results showed that group potency moderated the relationship between task conflict and group effectiveness. However, the communication medium did not play a moderator role in these relationships.  相似文献

Radiofrequency (RF) catheter ablation is the curative treatment of choice for many cardiac arrhythmias. After RF ablation there is always a small localized endomyocardial necrosis, necessary to abolish the arrhythmia. We designed this study to determine the serum concentrations of several cardiac markers in patients who underwent RF catheter ablation. The study shows a higher frequency of increase of serum cardiac troponin I (cTnI) than of creatine kinase (CK), the CK MB isoenzyme (CK-MB), or myoglobin. A pathological value of cTnI was found in 47 of 51 patients (92%) in the ablation group. The area under the ROC curve for cTnI was 0.9375, significantly higher than for the other biochemical markers (0.86, 0.76, and 0.75 for CK-MB, myoglobin, and CK, respectively), with P <0.05. We conclude that the serum concentration of cTnI is the best biochemical marker for detecting the minor myocardial damage produced by RF ablation.  相似文献

We studied the performance of three-dimensional fluorescence tomography of diffuse media in the presence of heterogeneities. Experimental measurements were acquired using an imaging system consisting of a parallel plate-imaging chamber and a lens coupled charge coupled device camera, which enables conventional planar imaging as well as fluorescence tomography. To simulate increasing levels of background heterogeneity, we employed phantoms made of a fluorescent tube surrounded by several absorbers in different combinations of absorption distribution. We also investigated the effect of low absorbing thin layers (such as membranes). We show that the normalized Born approach accurately retrieves the position and shape of the fluorochrome even at high background heterogeneity. We also demonstrate that the quantification is relatively insensitive to a varying degree of heterogeneity and background optical properties. Findings are further contrasted to images obtained with the standard Born expansion and with a normalized approach that divides the fluorescent field with excitation measurements through a homogeneous medium.  相似文献

Eosinophilic gastroenteritis is a rare clinicopathogenic entity of an unknown aetiology in which a variety of digestive symptoms are associated to the eosinophilic infiltration in the intestinal wall. The clinical features depend on the site of eosinophilic infiltration, and the association with peripheral eosinophilia is very frequent. The radiologic findings were not specific and the diagnostic is based on the endoscopic and/or peroral gastrointestinal biopsy. The response to steroid therapy is spectacular.
