The image analysis of dispersion layers in a vertical separator is realized by the development of an evaluation routine. The influence on the dispersion layer of the volume flow and hydrostatic pressure is investigated in continuous and discontinuous settling tests. A direct relationship between volumetric flow / hydrostatic pressure and dispersion layer height can be determined. The observed properties of the dispersion layer are explained by the underlying coalescence and sedimentation processes. Cu-Sn binary particles were generated via spray pyrolysis from metal salt precursors with ethylene glycol as the co-solvent and reducing agent. The morphology, crystallinity, and elemental distribution of particles were tunable by changing the reaction temperature, residence time, and quench gas flow rate. Hollow porous particles were fabricated with a higher Sn concentration on the particle surface when the furnace set point was 500°C, while solid particles with a lower surface Sn concentration were generated when the furnace set point was 1000°C. Particles with spherical morphologies were obtained at long residence time conditions (4.5 s). Cu-Sn binary particles with irregular structures (e.g., pores on the particle surface, fragmented spherical particles, and lamellar fragments) were formed at short residence time conditions (0.92 s). A possible spray pyrolysis mechanism was proposed that incorporates chemical reaction steps and structural progression. By this mechanism, the metal salts are believed to sequentially undergo hydrolysis to metal hydroxides, decomposition to metal oxides, reduction to metals, and finally diffusion of Sn into the Cu matrix to generate the Cu-Sn solid solution.

There is a demand for a clean label of ice cream in the food industry. To meet this requirement, alternative surfactants and hydrocolloids without an additive number have to be found. Here, a caseinate hydrolysate with improved interfacial properties was investigated as such an additive. Replacing only the surfactant resulted in ice cream characteristics, comparable to using a commercial emulsifier (INS 472b). Thus, a clean labeling of the surfactant using this hydrolysate is possible. By contrast, replacing the hydrocolloid additionally led to an unfavorable ice cream texture and stability. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe use of hexagonal boron nitride (h-BN) as a non-metal heterogeneous catalyst has been a popular subject in research since the discovery of its catalytic properties in 2016. Previous work found that an activation step was necessary for producing an effective catalyst. Density functional theory (DFT) calculations indicate defect sites, such as nitrogen (VN) and boron (VB) vacancies, bind favourably to olefins, hydrogen, and oxygen. In particular, the visible fluorescence intensity of processed h-BN increased with the length of exposure to air. The fluorescence behaviour of dh-BN powders when exposed to air after exposure to species such as argon, propene, and carbon dioxide is presented. Density of state calculations for molecular and atomic oxygen bound to VN and VB show that this increase in fluorescence may be due to atomic oxygen binding to VN. The fluorescence emission behaviour observed in dh-BN powders and its relationship to DOS of oxygen species bound to catalytically active defect sites provides a better understanding of potential deactivation modes for catalysts based on dh-BN. 相似文献

The electrochemical microcapillary technique was applied for the first time to study the electrochemical dissolution signals from single growing cracks due to stress corrosion cracking of thermally sensitised AISI 304 stainless steel in potassium tetrathionate solution. Potentiostatic current measurements on initiating cracks along grain boundaries were performed. Typical current signals of potentiostatic and potentiodynamic measurements consisted of a series of current peaks showing fast rise and exponential decay, sometimes interrupted by passive phases. The results indicate that stress corrosion crack growth is a discontinuous process of passive and active phases, which might be explained by the film rupture model. 相似文献

Supply chain management (SCM) has become one of the most important strategies for achieving competitive advantage in different industries in the last decade. Researchers have investigated various processes in the planning and development of supply chains. However, increasing attention has been placed on performance, design and analysis of supply chain models. A supply chain is a complex model that is very difficult to analyze, in particular, with respect to performance. Simulation is one of the effective tools to evaluate the control mechanism for a supply chain. In this paper, five common supply chain models have been built and tested with the aid of simulation. Various performance measures such as transportation cost, resources utilization, inventory level, and order cycle time will be calculated for comparative indications. We report for the first time on mechanical properties of anodically formed, self-organized TiO2 nanotube layers on titanium. We compare their behavior in their virgin state and after conversion to their semi-metallic form by an acetylene treatment. A new cobalt(III) complex salt, [Co(NH3)6][HgBr5](1) was crystallized from a solution of hexaamminecobalt(III)bromide and potassium tetrabromomercurate(II) in aqueous medium in 1:1 molar ratio. This complex salt has been characterized by elemental analyses, spectroscopic techniques (e.g. UV/Visible, IR), solubility product and conductance measurements. The complex salt crystallizes in Orthorhombic crystal system with space group Pnma. Single crystal X-ray structure determination revealed the presence of discrete ions: [Co(NH3)6]3+ cation and a new anion [HgBr5]3−. This is the first structural report of a complex salt containing this new anion. The structure consists of stacks of cations and anions demonstrating supramolecular arrangements through N–HBr hydrogen-bond interactions. The crystal lattice is stabilized by these non-covalent interactions besides electrostatic interaction. 相似文献

Based on the crystal structures of human α‐GalCer–CD1d and iNKT–α‐GalCer–CD1d complexes, nonglycosidic analogues of α‐GalCer were synthesized. They activate iNKT cells resulting in dendritic cell maturation and the priming of antigen‐specific T and B cells. Therefore, they are attractive adjuvants in vaccination strategies for cancer and infectious diseases.
