The fatigue characteristics of the hot work tool steel X40CrMoV 51 (UNS number T20811) at high temperatures is presented. The temperatures for the experiments were chosen between 50–600 °C. The experiments used B-type cylindrical specimens machined from X40CrMoV in an R.R. Moore rotating bending type fatigue test machine obeying the high cycle principle. The temperature intervals for the experiments were chosen as 50, 100, 200, 300, 400, 500, and 600 °C, for which the fatigue limit for each interval at 2 × 106 cycles was determined. The fatigue limit of the material at room temperature (RT) is observed as 432 MPa, whereas it drops to 383 MPa at 400 °C. On the other hand, it stays almost constant between 400–600 °C, indicating that the material includes the elements forming strong carbides such as V, Mo, and Cr, which prevent the decrease of the fatigue limit due to higher temperatures.  相似文献

A large amount of inedible plant material, generated as a result of plant growth in a Controlled Ecological Life Support System (CELSS), should be pretreated and converted into forms that can be recycled on earth as well as in space. The main portion of the inedible biomass is lignocellulosic material. Enzymatic hydrolysis of this cellulose would provide sugars for many other uses by recycling carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen through formation of carbon dioxide, heat, and sugars, which are potential foodstuffs. To obtain monosaccharides from cellulose, the protective effect of lignin should be removed. White-rot fungi degrade lignin more extensively and rapidly than other microorganisms. Pleurotus ostreatus degrades lignin effectively, and produces edible and flavorful mushrooms that increase the quality and nutritional value of the diet. This mushroom is also capable of metabolizing hemicellulose, thereby providing a food use of this pentose containing polysaccharide. This study presents the current knowledge of physiology and biochemistry of primary and secondary metabolisms of basidiomycetes, and degradation mechanism of lignin. A better understanding of the ligninolytic activity of white-rot fungi will impact the CELSS Program by providing insights on how edible fungi might be used to recycle the inedible portions of the crops.  相似文献

Single-angle section beams are generally loaded parallel to their geometrical axes and their cross-sections are not symmetrical to their principal axes. Even equal leg angle beams have only one symmetrical axis. Many types of loading cause biaxial bending and axial forces in these members. Since single-angle section beams are slender members, they also need to be analyzed in terms of flexural buckling, lateral torsional buckling and local buckling effects. In this study, a calculation procedure is presented to analyze the nominal loads of equal leg angle section beams loaded vertically to the axis of the beam. It is assumed that the axial force is composed of a constant compressive force. The constant axial force is only taken into consideration for the uniform compressive stress and the second-degree effects caused in the cross-section. Thus only the biaxial bending moments remain. The first yield, full plastic and critical lateral torsional buckling moments for biaxial bending are calculated with respect to the slenderness of the beam and the axial force. The nominal design force on the cross-section is calculated according to the load and resistance factor design rules. The analysis proposed for the constant axial load can also be used for other axial forces, by using an iterative calculation procedure.  相似文献

This paper presents a new method based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS) to calculate the input resistance of circular microstrip patch antennas. The ANFIS is a fuzzy inference system (FIS) implemented in the framework of an adaptive fuzzy neural network. It combines the explicit knowledge representation of FIS with learning power of neural networks. A hybrid learning algorithm based on the least square approach and the backpropagation algorithm is used to optimize the parameters of ANFIS. The input resistance results predicted by ANFIS are in excellent agreement with the experimental results reported elsewhere.  相似文献

A new method for calculating the patch length and width of rectangular microstrip antennas (MSAs) with thin and thick substrates, based on adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system (ANFIS), is presented. The ANFIS is a class of adaptive networks which are functionally equivalent to fuzzy inference systems (FISs). It combines the powerful features of FISs with those of artificial neural networks (ANNs) to achieve a desired performance. The results of ANFIS are in excellent agreement with the experimental results available in the literature.  相似文献

Spherical hollow alumina powders (alumina microshells) were prepared from evaporation of water-in-oil (w/o) type emulsions by employing an aqueous Al(NO3)3 solution as water, mineral oil as the organic phase and a non-ionic surfactant, Arlacel 83, as the emulsifier. It was found that 65% mineral oil, 30% aqueous Al(NO3)3 and 5% Arlacel 83 composition produced stable, w/o type emulsions by mechanical stirring at 20°C. The aluminum ion concentration was varied between 0·25 and 2·0 to investigate its effect on the emulsion droplet size. Alumina microshells obtained from the evaporation of w/o emulsions were characterized with respect to size and distribution. The influence of aluminum ion concentration on these properties was also studied.  相似文献

Optimization of the composition and the heat treatments to provide a microduplex structure of dislocated-autotempered lath martensite and thin film retained austenite for good combinations of mechanical properties has been attained for Fe/Cr/C base steels. Substituting 0.5 wt pct Mo to reduce Cr from 4 pct to 3 pct did not affect the microstructures nor the properties. It was found that air melting as compared to vacuum melting does not cause deterioration of toughness in Mn containing alloys but does so in Ni containing alloys. Tempered martensite embrittlement was confirmed as being due to the decomposition of retained austenite. Further improvements in the fracture toughness are achieved by double heat treatments which provide grain refinement. These alloys are considered to be very promising for structural applications.  相似文献
