The use of nanoscale WC grain or finer feedstock particles is a possible method of improving the performance of WC-Co-Cr coatings. Finer powders are being pursued for the development of coating internal surfaces, as less thermal energy is required to melt the finer powder compared to coarse powders, permitting spraying at smaller standoff distances. Three WC-10Co-4Cr coatings, with two different powder particle sizes and two different carbide grain sizes, were sprayed using a high velocity oxy-air fuel (HVOAF) thermal spray system developed by Castolin Eutectic-Monitor Coatings Ltd., UK. Powder and coating microstructures were characterized using XRD and SEM. Fracture toughness and dry sliding wear performance at three loads were investigated using a ball-on-disk tribometer with a WC-Co counterbody. It was found that the finer powder produced the coating with the highest microhardness, but its fracture toughness was reduced due to increased decarburization compared to the other powders. The sprayed nanostructured powder had the lowest microhardness and fracture toughness of all materials tested. Unlubricated sliding wear testing at the lowest load showed the nanostructured coating performed best; however, at the highest load this coating showed the highest specific wear rates with the other two powders performing to a similar, better standard.  相似文献

Experimental studies were conducted to investigate thermal and interfacial properties of two in‐house synthesized amido‐amine‐based cationic gemini surfactants namely: dodecanoic acid [3‐({4‐[(3‐dodecanoylamino‐propyl)‐dimethyl‐amino]‐butyl}‐dimethyl‐amino)‐propyl]‐amide dibromide ( 12‐4‐12 ) and dodecanoic acid [3‐({6‐[(3‐dodecanoylamino‐propyl)‐dimethyl‐amino]‐hexyl}‐dimethyl‐amino)‐propyl]‐amide dibromide ( 12‐6‐12 ). Thermogravimetric analysis showed the excellent thermal stability of surfactants and no structural degradation was observed at temperatures up to 250 °C. The long‐term thermal stability of the surfactants was investigated with the aid of spectroscopic techniques such as nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR (1H and 13C) and Fourier transform infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Both surfactants were found to be thermally stable, and no changes in structure were observed after aging for 10 days at 90 °C. The interfacial tension of the surfactants was measured at three different temperatures (30, 60, and 80 °C), and the results showed a decrease in interfacial tension with increasing temperature and increasing spacer length of the surfactants. Rheological measurements were used to assess the interactions between the cationic gemini surfactant and cationic polyacrylamide. The addition of cationic surfactant reduced the viscosity and storage modulus of the polymer at low shear rate and frequency due to surfactant–polymer interactions and charge screening. The investigated surfactant–polymer system has great potential in high‐temperature carbonate reservoirs, where conventional anionic surfactants are not recommended due to high adsorption.  相似文献

向溴化锂水溶液中添加微量异辛醇表面活性剂,能显著增强溴化锂吸收式制冷机的吸收作用,提高制冷能力。但添加了异辛醇后,吸收式制冷机中的降膜蒸发器的换热效果却不能保证得到强化,有时出现降膜蒸发器的换热效果变差的现象。为探究导致换热变差的原因,本研究通过测量异辛醇水溶液和金属板表面的接触角,发现水中加入微量异辛醇后接触角普遍增大,湿润性变差,使降膜蒸发器的传热变差。通过测量并比较同浓度异辛醇水溶液在不同金属表面的接触角,得出40 mg·L-1时异辛醇水溶液在镀锌钢板表面的湿润性最好,其次是不锈钢板,在紫铜表面的湿润性最差。异辛醇水溶液的浓度变化对每种金属板接触角没有明显影响。  相似文献

The conventional power swing schemes used in distance relay operation are not fast enough to detect and distinguish a fault, stable swing and unstable swing and this may lead to unintended tripping of protection devices. Therefore, there is a need for fast detection of unstable swings so as to improve the reliability of distance relay operation. This paper presents an intelligent approach for detecting unstable swings during distance relay operation using the S-transform signal processing technique and artificial neural networks. To illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach, simulations were carried out on the IEEE 39 bus test system using the PSS/E software. Test results showed that the proposed approach using S-transform, multi layer perceptron network and probabilistic neural network can accurately detect and classify fault, stable swing, unstable swing, fault clearance and post fault events for correct distance relay operation.  相似文献

ABSTRACT: Our knowledge about the metabolism of alkylcyclobutanones (2-ACBs) is limited, and the lack of literature on the metabolism of 2-ACBs causes consumers to doubt the safety of irradiated foods. The objectives of this study were to evaluate the metabolism of 2-dodecylcyclobutanone (2-DCB) and identify any possible metabolite. The 2-DCB was mixed with rat S9 (postmitochondrial supernatant fraction) and β-nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH) in phosphate buffer (pH 7.4) and incubated for 2 h at 37 °C. Then, the incubation mixture was mixed with sodium sulfate and extracted with n-hexane by using a Soxhlet apparatus. The hexane extract was concentrated under nitrogen and injected into the gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (GC-MS) machine running in selective ion monitoring mode (SIM) to measure 2-DCB concentration. The hexane extract from the in vitro and in vivo studies was also derivatized with a silylation reagent and injected into a GC-MS running in full scan mode. The average percentage of 2-DCB recovered from the test incubations was 23%, compared with 50% from the controls. The GC-MS chromatograms of the derivatized samples showed a unique peak in the in vitro test incubations and in the hexane extract of the rat feces that were given 2-DCB. This peak was later identified as 2-doecylcyclobutanol.  相似文献

Needle-shaped crystals of sizes up to 5 μm × 5 μm × 40 μm of nominal composition K x Nb y W1−y O3 were synthesized by solid state method at 800 °C using appropriate amount of WO3, WO2, Nb2O5, and K2WO4. The samples were characterized with XRD, SEM, microprobe analysis, optical spectroscopy, and Raman spectroscopy. The XRD patterns of the samples show single phase of tetragonal tungsten bronze (TTB) type (P4/mbm, No. 127) up to y = 0.07. Structure refinements reveal an increase in cell parameter with increasing nominal niobium content within the TTB phase. The elemental compositions of the crystals determined by electron microprobe analysis also show an increase in Nb content with increasing y. With increasing Nb content the reflectivity minimum in the near infrared spectral range shifts towards lower wavenumber indicating the effect of decreasing carrier concentration. Pyrochlore type phase (KNbWO6) is obtained as a second phase when nominal composition y > 0.07.  相似文献

1081 otorhinolaryngological articles originating from departments in the British Isles, published in 8 leading English language speciality journals from 1985–1989 were analysed to determine author and content trends. Articles were classified as clinical investigative, laboratory based, case report or review/editorial. The institution of origin, total number of authors and identity of the first three were recorded. BACKGROUND: Cough associated with gastroesophageal reflux (GER) may originate in extrathoracic airway receptors made hypersensitive by acid-induced mucosal injury. OBJECTIVE: We investigated the role of laryngeal disease and dysfunction in the pathogenesis of GER-associated cough in nonasthmatic patients. METHODS: Seven patients with GER-associated cough were compared with 7 patients with GER but no cough. The patients underwent fiberoptic endoscopy for assessment of laryngitis and esophagitis (expressed by scores); esophageal manometry; 24-hour pH monitoring; lung function tests; and histamine inhalation challenge with assessment of bronchial threshold (concentration provoking 10% fall in FEV1 [PC10]), extrathoracic airway threshold (concentration provoking 25% fall in the maximal midinspiratory flow [PC25MIF50]), and cough threshold (concentration provoking 5 or more coughs PCcough). The patients were reevaluated after 3 months of medical treatment for GER. RESULTS: Patients with cough, compared with those without cough, had significantly higher laryngitis scores (P = .002), lower esophageal sphincter pressures, longer time with pH below 4 (P = .003), greater number of episodes of reflux longer than 5 minutes (P = .016), longer esophageal clearance time (P = .048), and significantly lower PC25MIF50 (P = .005) and PCcough (P = .008) values. Laryngitis score was significantly inversely related to either PCcough (P < .001) or PC25MIF50 (P <.01) but not to PC10. Laryngitis score, PC25MIF50, and PCcough were all closely related to GER severity. After GER treatment, laryngitis, PC25MIF50, and PCcough were all significantly improved. CONCLUSIONS: These findings suggest that GER-associated cough is strongly associated with laryngeal disease and dysfunction consequent to acid reflux injury in nonasthmatic patients.  相似文献
