The emergence of Cloud Computing as a model of service provisioning in distributed systems instigated researchers to explore its pros and cons on executing different large scale scientific applications, i.e., Workflows. One of the most challenging problems in clouds is to execute workflows while minimizing the execution time as well as cost incurred by using a set of heterogeneous resources over the cloud simultaneously. In this paper, we present, Budget and Deadline Constrained Heuristic based upon Heterogeneous Earliest Finish Time (HEFT) to schedule workflow tasks over the available cloud resources. The proposed heuristic presents a beneficial trade-off between execution time and execution cost under given constraints. The proposed heuristic is evaluated for different synthetic workflow applications by a simulation process and comparison is done with state-of-art algorithm i.e. BHEFT. The simulation results show that our proposed scheduling heuristic can significantly decrease the execution cost while producing makespan as good as the best known scheduling heuristic under the same deadline and budget constraints.  相似文献

In this paper, the authors propose a system where a number of cooperating mobile nodes transmit information to a common destination node. Each cooperating node has a set of decoders to detect the information of other nodes and a set of encoders to further encode the decoded information as well as its own information using multilevel space–time trellis coding (MLSTTC) scheme. The coded information is mapped using multi‐resolution modulation partitioning to M‐ary quadrature amplitude modulation constellation. The mapped symbols are weighted based on the available channel state information at transmitting nodes. The weighting of transmitting symbols provides beamforming resulting in receive signal‐to‐noise ratio gain. The weighted symbols are sent to destination node through two transmit antennas. If the information of other nodes has been correctly decoded at the cooperating node, then the destination node receives the information of each node as many times as there are number of transmitting nodes, thus achieving full diversity order. A multistage Viterbi decoder is used at the destination node to extract information of each mobile node. The results indicate that the performance of proposed cooperative MLSTTC system is superior to non‐cooperative MLSTTC system. Copyright © 2016 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

Guar seed flour (GSF) has a high amount of carbohydrates, proteins, phytochemicals, and anti-nutritional factors (ANFs), which limits its use. To address this issue, the current study was undertaken to understand the effect of microwave (MW) irradiation on ANFs, phytochemicals, in vitro protein digestibility (IVPD), and functional attributes of GSF at varying power density (Pd: 1–3 W/g) and duration (3–9 min). The ANFs were determined using a colorimetric assay and a Fourier transform infrared spectrum. At 3 Pd-9 min, the maximum reduction in ANFs (tannin, phytic acid, saponin, and trypsin inhibitor activity) was observed. Higher Pd and treatment duration increased antioxidant activity and total phenolic content, except for total flavonoid content. Furthermore, compared to the control sample (78.38%), the IVPD of the GSF samples increased to 3.28% (3 Pd-9 min). An increase in Pd and duration of MW treatment improved the thermal and pasting properties of GSF samples up to 2 Pd-9 min. Due to inter- and intramolecular hydrogen bonding degradation, the relative crystallinity of the 3 Pd-9 min treated GSF sample was 30.58%, which was lower than that of the control (40.08%). In MW-treated samples, SEM images revealed smaller clusters with rough and porous structures. However, no noticeable color (ΔE) changes were observed in MW-treated samples. Aside from water absorption capacity and water solubility index, MW treatment reduced oil absorption capacity, foaming capacity, and emulsifying capacity. As demonstrated by principal component analysis, MW irradiation with moderate Pd (2–3) was more effective in reducing ANFs, retaining nutritional contents, and improving the digestible properties of GSF, which could be a potential ingredient for developing gluten-free products.  相似文献

Hypoxia is characterized by an inadequate supply of oxygen to tissues, and hypoxic regions are commonly found in solid tumors. The cellular response to hypoxic conditions is mediated through the activation of hypoxia-inducible factors (HIFs) that control the expression of a large number of target genes. Recent studies have shown that the receptor for advanced glycation end products (RAGE) participates in hypoxia-dependent cellular adaptation.
