A wavelet-based ECG delineator: evaluation on standard databases   总被引:14,自引:0,他引:14  
In this paper, we developed and evaluated a robust single-lead electrocardiogram (ECG) delineation system based on the wavelet transform (WT). In a first step, QRS complexes are detected. Then, each QRS is delineated by detecting and identifying the peaks of the individual waves, as well as the complex onset and end. Finally, the determination of P and T wave peaks, onsets and ends is performed. We evaluated the algorithm on several manually annotated databases, such as MIT-BIH Arrhythmia, QT, European ST-T and CSE databases, developed for validation purposes. The QRS detector obtained a sensitivity of Se = 99.66% and a positive predictivity of P+ = 99.56% over the first lead of the validation databases (more than 980,000 beats), while for the well-known MIT-BIH Arrhythmia Database, Se and P+ over 99.8% were attained. As for the delineation of the ECG waves, the mean and standard deviation of the differences between the automatic and manual annotations were computed. The mean error obtained with the WT approach was found not to exceed one sampling interval, while the standard deviations were around the accepted tolerances between expert physicians, outperforming the results of other well known algorithms, especially in determining the end of T wave.  相似文献

Recent technological advances have made multidimensional peptide separation techniques coupled with tandem mass spectrometry the method of choice for high-throughput identification of proteins. Due to these advances, the development of software tools for large-scale, fully automated, unambiguous peptide identification is highly necessary. In this work, we have used as a model the nuclear proteome from Jurkat cells and present a processing algorithm that allows accurate predictions of random matching distributions, based on the two SEQUEST scores Xcorr and DeltaCn. Our method permits a very simple and precise calculation of the probabilities associated with individual peptide assignments, as well as of the false discovery rate among the peptides identified in any experiment. A further mathematical analysis demonstrates that the score distributions are highly dependent on database size and precursor mass window and suggests that the probability associated with SEQUEST scores depends on the number of candidate peptide sequences available for the search. Our results highlight the importance of adjusting the filtering criteria to discriminate between correct and incorrect peptide sequences according to the circumstances of each particular experiment.  相似文献

The authors report two new observations of ureteral metastases from prostatic cancers and review the 17 already published cases. The relative rarity might well be only apparent, in relation with the delay in the exploration of the first observations. The diagnostic criteria are less clinical and radiological than anatomo-pathological, the metastases contrasting themselves with ureteral invasion by direct propagation. The anatomical status shows no predominance between tumoral or infiltrating forms, nor of any particular site on the ureter, while noting a relative frequence of bilateral involvement. The therapeutic approach is dependant upon these factors. The prognostic is reserved, at the cost of a segmental ureteral resection or a nephro-ureterectomy.  相似文献

Polymerase chain reaction (PCR)-enzyme linked immunosorbent assays (ELISAs) targeting either the 35S promoter or the Bt176 specific junction sequence were developed to screen for the presence of genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and specifically detect Bt176 maize in flours and starches. Two additional PCR-ELISA assays were developed to validate the results: one, based on the detection of the maize alcohol dehydrogenase 1 promoter specifically detected the presence of maize, and the other, based on the detection of a conserved sequence of plants ( 26S ribosomal RNA gene), validated the extracted DNA amplification. The PCR-ELISA assays developed here were highly specific and found to be as sensitive as the reference Southern hybridisation assay. The PCR-ELISA tests were at least 6 times more sensitive than gel electrophoresis and allowed 0.1% GMOs to be detected in Bt176, Bt11, Mon810 maize and Roundup Ready soybean. The PCR-ELISA tests are a method of choice for GMO screening and identifying Bt176 maize in flours and native starches. They may offer a cheaper alternative to the expensive real-time PCR assays and may be useful in laboratory GMO monitoring.  相似文献

Aluminium-based matrix composites were prepared by infiltration with an ammoniacal zirconium chelate within an Al matrix synthesized via Aluminium powder compactation. After infiltration, this chelate can be transformed in situ by sol-gel method that leads to tetragonal phases in zirconia, which in turn, transforms to monoclinic structure on heating. Based on Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA), Fourier Transformed Infrared (FTIR), X-Ray Diffraction (XRD), and Scanning Electron Microscopy (SEM), we confirm the reaction sequence to obtain the tetramer, the phase transformation sequence within the Al matrix, and the development of phases that leads to the synthesis of the Al-ZrO2 composite.  相似文献

The terminal events leading to periprosthetic osteolysis are multifactorial in nature and modulation of this process after the stage of osteolytic mediator release has been futile. Recently, the demonstration of the ability of bisphosphonates to inhibit bone resorption that is mediated by particle-stimulated macrophages and their induction of osteoclast apoptosis suggests a potent area for modulation of osteolysis at the prosthesis-bone interface. The purpose of this study was to determine the mode of cell death that occurs at the osteolytic interface of failed total hip arthroplasty (THA). TUNEL staining, DNA laddering, and immunodetection of poly(ADP-ribose)polymerase (PARP) protein were used to identify the presence of apoptosis in interface membranes from 25 patients aged 28–88 years old (mean, 58 years) harvested at the time of hip revision surgery. Our results demonstrated positive TUNEL stain in 100% of specimens with an average 37% of cells (range 12–60%) positively stained for TUNEL whereas less than 8% of control tissue cells showed positive staining. DNA laddering, a characteristic feature of apoptotic cells, was observed in 82% (28/34) of specimens studied at both the acetabular and femoral side of aseptically loose THAs. No laddering was observed in control tissues. Finally, using Western blot analysis, we observed the appearance of the 89 kDa PARP fragment associated with apoptosis in 92% of specimens (30/33). Our results demonstrate the presence of apoptotic cell death in interface membranes of THAs suggesting that apoptosis-related events are indeed associated with periprosthetic osteolysis and could serve as a specific target point for therapeutic modulation. © 2001 Kluwer Academic Publishers  相似文献

In the classical framework of formal languages, a refinement operation is modeled by a substitution and an abstraction by an inverse substitution. These mechanisms have been widely studied, because they describe a change in the specification level, from an abstract view to a more concrete one, or conversely. For timed systems, there is up to now no uniform notion of substitution. In this paper, we study timed substitutions in the general framework of signal-event languages, where both signals and events are taken into account. We prove that regular signal-event languages are closed under substitution and inverse substitution. To obtain these results, we use in a crucial way a “well known” result: regular signal-event languages are closed under intersection. In fact, while this result is indeed easy for languages defined by Alur and Dill’s timed automata, it turns out that the construction is much more tricky when considering the most involved model of signal-event automata. We give here a construction working on finite and infinite signal-event words and taking into account signal stuttering, unobservability of zero-duration τ-signals and Zeno runs. Note that if several constructions have been proposed in particular cases, it is the first time that a general construction is provided.  相似文献

Ultra-thin gate oxide reliability, in large area MOSFETs, can be monitored by measuring the gate current when the substrate is depleted. When the channel length is scaled down, the tunneling current associated with the source/drain extension region (SDE) to the gate–overlap regions can dominate the gate current. In N-MOSFETs, as a function of the negative gate voltage two components of the gate–drain leakage current should be considered, the first for VFB < VG < 0 V and the second for VG < VFB. These components are studied in this work before and after voltage stresses. The aim of this work is to see whether this gate–drain current can be used to monitor the oxide degradation above or near the source and/or drain extension region in N-MOSFETs. It is important because the most serious circuit-killing breakdown occurs above or near the drain (or source) extension region. Finally, we show that it is necessary, before explaining the gate LVSILC curves obtained after stresses on short-channel devices, to verify which is the dominate current at low voltage.  相似文献

Ferromagnetic nanowires are finding use as untethered sensors and actuators for probing micro‐ and nanoscale biophysical phenomena, such as for localized sensing and application of forces and torques on biological samples, for tissue heating through magnetic hyperthermia, and for microrheology. Quantifying the magnetic properties of individual isolated nanowires is crucial for such applications. Dynamic cantilever magnetometry is used to measure the magnetic properties of individual sub‐500 nm diameter polycrystalline nanowires of Ni and Ni80Co20 fabricated by template‐assisted electrochemical deposition. The values are compared with bulk, ensemble measurements when the nanowires are still embedded within their growth matrix. It is found that single‐particle and ensemble measurements of nanowires yield significantly different results that reflect inter‐nanowire interactions and chemical modifications of the sample during the release process from the growth matrix. The results highlight the importance of performing single‐particle characterization for objects that will be used as individual magnetic nanoactuators or nanosensors in biomedical applications.  相似文献
