High-resolution solid-state 13C-NMR has been used to study the phase separation and molecular motion in two series of polyurethane foams. These two series differ by one possessing the additive of lithium chloride, LiCl. NMR relaxation times can map the motion throughout the polymer molecule and detect changes in that motion arising from either microseparation or phase mixing between the different segments. There are only slight changes in the soft segment T1p(13C) values as well as an increase in the hard segment T1p(1H) values with increase in the hard segment content for the foams studied. The T1p(1H) and T1p(13C) values do indicate that the phase separation of the hard and soft segments is similar for all foams. A decrease in the T1p(1H) and T1p(13C) values with increasing LiCl content indicates that the motion of the soft segments is restricted more by the hard segments. This is explained by more phase mixing in the foams containing the LiCl additive. © 1994 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.  相似文献

Long-term chemical durability of borosilicate glasses that makes them a widely accepted form of nuclear waste disposal is achieved through the formation of a porous aluminosilicate gel layer that provides passivity and limits the transport of water to the reaction front. Detailed understanding of the porous silicate gel layer is thus critical in elucidating the corrosion mechanism of these glasses and to design of new glass composition for waste immobilization and other applications. In this paper, we use the diffuse charge reactive potential to generate porous aluminosilicate glass structures with compositions equivalent to the gel layers formed at the glass-water interface with an aim to understand the processing condition on the microstructure and atomic structure of these systems. We demonstrate the use of the charge scaling techniques is an effective approach to generate these porous structures with controllable pore mophologies. After initial validation of the potentials and calcium aluminosilicate glass structures using neutron diffraction, we created gel structures with compositions similar to well-known model nuclear waste borosilicate glasses. The porosities and the pore size distribution bear a strong correlation to the processing temperature, as well as to the local atomic structure. Thus, by controlling the processing parameters, the generated porous structures can be customized to closely resemble gel structures due to borosilicate glass corrosion. These results provide insights of the micro- and atomic structure features of the porous aluminosilicate glasses and on the optimal procedure to generate porous structures that can be comparable to experimentally observed gel layer structures thus to elaborate on the correlations between the structure and phenomena in glass-water interactions.  相似文献

A supply chain is a system which moves products from a supplier to customers, which plays a very important role in all economic activities. This paper proposes a novel algorithm for a supply chain network design inspired by biological principles of nutrients’ distribution in protoplasmic networks of slime mould Physarum polycephalum. The algorithm handles supply networks where capacity investments and product flows are decision variables, and the networks are required to satisfy product demands. Two features of the slime mould are adopted in our algorithm. The first is the continuity of flux during the iterative process, which is used in real-time updating of the costs associated with the supply links. The second feature is adaptivity. The supply chain can converge to an equilibrium state when costs are changed. Numerical examples are provided to illustrate the practicality and flexibility of the proposed method algorithm.  相似文献

Soft robots adapt passively to complex environments due to their inherent compliance, allowing them to interact safely with fragile or irregular objects and traverse uneven terrain. The vast tunability and ubiquity of textiles has enabled new soft robotic capabilities, especially in the field of wearable robots, but existing textile processing techniques (e.g., cut-and-sew, thermal bonding) are limited in terms of rapid, additive, accessible, and waste-free manufacturing. While 3D knitting has the potential to address these limitations, an incomplete understanding of the impact of structure and material on knit-scale mechanical properties and macro-scale device performance has precluded the widespread adoption of knitted robots. In this work, the roles of knit structure and yarn material properties on textile mechanics spanning three regimes–unfolding, geometric rearrangement, and yarn stretching–are elucidated and shown to be tailorable across unique knit architectures and yarn materials. Based on this understanding, 3D knit soft actuators for extension, contraction, and bending are constructed. Combining these actuation primitives enables the monolithic fabrication of entire soft grippers and robots in a single-step additive manufacturing procedure suitable for a variety of applications. This approach represents a first step in seamlessly “printing” conformal, low-cost, customizable textile-based soft robots on-demand.  相似文献

An ad-hoc sensor network (ASN) is a group of sensing nodes that transmit data over a wireless link to a target node, direct or indirect, through a series of nodes. ASN becomes a high-risk group for several security exploits due to the sensor node’s limited resources. Internal threats are more challenging to protect against than external attacks. The nodes are grouped, and calculate each node’s trust level. The trust level is the result of combining internal and external trust degrees. Cluster heads (CH) are chosen based on the anticipated trust levels. The communications are then digitally signed by the source, encoded using a key pair given by a trustworthy CH, decoded by the recipient, and supervised by verifications. It authenticates the technique by identifying the presence of both the transmitter and the recipient. Our approach looks for a trustworthy neighboring node that meets the trust threshold condition to authenticate the key produced. The companion node reaffirms the node’s reliability by getting the public-key certification. The seeking sensor node and the certification issuer node must have a close and trusting relationship. The results of the proposed hybrid authentication using a node trustworthy (HANT) system are modeled and tested, and the suggested approach outperforms conventional trust-based approaches in throughput, latency, lifetime, and vulnerability methods.  相似文献

Software testing plays a pivotal role in entire software development lifecycle. It provides researchers with extensive opportunities to develop novel methods for the optimized and cost-effective test suite Although implementation of such a cost-effective test suite with regression testing is being under exploration still it contains lot of challenges and flaws while incorporating with any of the new regression testing algorithm due to irrelevant test cases in the test suite which are not required. These kinds of irrelevant test cases might create certain challenges such as code-coverage in the test suite, fault-tolerance, defects due to uncovered-statements and overall-performance at the time of execution. With this objective, the proposed a new Modified Particle Swarm optimization used for multi-objective test suite optimization. The experiment results involving six subject programs show that MOMPSO method can outer perform with respect to both reduction rate (90.78% to 100%) and failure detection rate (44.56% to 55.01%). Results proved MOMPSO outperformed the other stated algorithms.  相似文献

The paper deals with an economic manufacturing quantity (EMQ) model for time-dependent (quadratic) demand pattern. Every manufacturing sector wants to produce perfect quality items. But in long run process, there may arise different types of difficulties like labor problem, machinery capabilities problems, etc., due to that the machinery systems shift from in-control state to out-of-control state as a result the manufacturing systems produce imperfect quality items. The imperfect items are reworked at a cost to become the perfect one. The rework cost may be reduced by improvements in product reliability i.e., the production process depend on time and also the reliability parameter. We want to determine the optimal product reliability and production rate that achieves the biggest total integrated profit for an imperfect manufacturing process using Euler–Lagrange theory to build up the necessary and sufficient conditions for optimality of the dynamic variables. Finally, a numerical example is discussed to test the model which is illustrated graphically also.  相似文献

Many kinds of information are hidden in email data, such as the information being exchanged, the time of exchange, and the user IDs participating in the exchange. Analyzing the email data can reveal valuable information about the social networks of a single user or multiple users, the topics being discussed, and so on. In this paper, we describe a novel approach for temporally analyzing the communication patterns embedded in email data based on time series segmentation. The approach computes egocentric communication patterns of a single user, as well as sociocentric communication patterns involving multiple users. Time series segmentation is used to uncover patterns that may span multiple time points and to study how these patterns change over time. To find egocentric patterns, the email communication of a user is represented as an item-set time series. An optimal segmentation of the item-set time series is constructed, from which patterns are extracted. To find sociocentric patterns, the email data is represented as an item-setgroup time series. Patterns involving multiple users are then extracted from an optimal segmentation of the item-setgroup time series. The proposed approach is applied to the Enron email data set, which produced very promising results.  相似文献

This paper proposes an experimental investigation and optimization of various machining parameters for the die-sinking electrical discharge machining (EDM) process using a multi-objective particle swarm (MOPSO) algorithm. A Box–Behnken design of response surface methodology has been adopted to estimate the effect of machining parameters on the responses. The responses used in the analysis are material removal rate, electrode wear ratio, surface roughness and radial overcut. The machining parameters considered in the study are open circuit voltage, discharge current, pulse-on-time, duty factor, flushing pressure and tool material. Fifty four experimental runs are conducted using Inconel 718 super alloy as work piece material and the influence of parameters on each response is analysed. It is observed that tool material, discharge current and pulse-on-time have significant effect on machinability characteristics of Inconel 718. Finally, a novel MOPSO algorithm has been proposed for simultaneous optimization of multiple responses. Mutation operator, predominantly used in genetic algorithm, has been introduced in the MOPSO algorithm to avoid premature convergence. The Pareto-optimal solutions obtained through MOPSO have been ranked by the composite scores obtained through maximum deviation theory to avoid subjectiveness and impreciseness in the decision making. The analysis offers useful information for controlling the machining parameters to improve the accuracy of the EDMed components.  相似文献
