Motivated by the necessity of having a good clock synchronization amongst the nodes of wireless ad-hoc sensor networks, the joint maximum likelihood (JML) estimator for clock phase offset and skew under exponential noise model for reference broadcast synchronization (RBS) protocol is formulated and found via a direct algorithm. The Gibbs sampler is also proposed for joint clock phase offset and skew estimation and shown to provide superior performance relative to JML- estimator. Lower and upper bounds for the mean-square errors (MSE) of JML-estimator and Gibbs Sampler are introduced in terms of the MSE of the uniform minimum variance unbiased (UMVU) estimator and the conventional best linear unbiased estimator (BLUE), respectively.  相似文献

An infrastructure development in landscape and clearing of more vegetated areas have provided huge changes in Malaysia gradually leading to slope instabilities accompanied by enormous environmental effects such as properties and destructions. Thus, prudent practices through vegetation incorporating to use slope stability is an option to the general stabilized technique. Few researches have investigated the effectiveness of vegetative coverings related to slope and soil parameters. The main goal of this study is to provide an intelligent soft computing model to predict the safety factor (FOS) of a slope using support vector regression (SVR). In the other words, SVR has investigated the surface eco-protection techniques for cohesive soil slopes in Guthrie Corridor Expressway stretch through the probabilistic models analysis to highlight the main parameters. The aforementioned analysis has been performed to predict the FOS of a slope, also the estimator’s function has been confirmed by the simulative outcome compared to artificial neural network and genetic programing resulting in a drastic accurate estimation by SVR. Using new analyzing methods like SVR are more purposeful than achieving a starting point by trial and error embedding multiple factors into one in ordinary low-technique software.

This article analyses regional labor market adjustment in the Finnish provinces during 1976–2000. We investigate the inter-relations of employment, unemployment, labor force participation, and migration to see how a change in region-specific and total labor demand is adjusted. The analysis reveals that region-specific labor demand shocks adjust mainly via participation, whereas total shocks are adjusted by unemployment. The region-specific component of labor demand shock has shorter-lived effects on unemployment and participation, but its effect on employment is permanent. Conversely, total shocks leave no permanent effect. Migration is more important in the region-specific case where, after a few years, it acquires a large role in the adjustment process.  相似文献

Anaerobic on-site treatment of synthetic black water (BW) and dairy parlour wastewater (DPWW) was studied in two-phased upflow anaerobic sludge blanket (UASB)-septic tanks at low temperatures (10-20 degrees C). At all temperatures, total chemical oxygen demand (COD(t)) removal was above 90% with BW and above 80% with DPWW and removal of total suspended solids (TSS) above 90% with both wastewaters. Moreover, dissolved COD (COD(dis)) removal was approx. 70% with both wastewaters indicating good biological activity of the sludges. With BW, a single-phased reactor was found sufficient for good COD removals, while with DPWW, a two-phased process was required. Temperature optimum of reactor sludges was still 35 degrees C after long (398d) operation. Most of the nutrients from BW were removed with TSS, while with DPWW nutrient removal was low. In conclusion, UASB-septic tank was found feasible for (pre)treatment of BW and DPWW at low temperatures.  相似文献

The biosorption characteristics of Cd(II) ions using the red alga (Ceramium virgatum) were investigated. Experimental parameters affecting the biosorption process such as pH, contact time, biomass dosage and temperature were studied. Langmuir, Freundlich and Dubinin-Radushkevich (D-R) models were applied to describe the biosorption isotherms. The biosorption capacity of C. virgatum biomass for Cd(II) ions was found to be 39.7 mg/g. From the D-R isotherm model, the mean free energy was calculated as 12.7 kJ/mol, indicating that the biosorption of Cd(II) the metal ions was taken place by chemisorption. The calculated thermodynamic parameters (DeltaG degrees , DeltaH degrees and DeltaS degrees ) showed that the biosorption of Cd(II) ions onto C. virgatum was feasible, spontaneous and exothermic at 293-323 K. Evaluation of experimental data in terms of biosorption kinetics showed that the biosorption of Cd(II) C. virgatum followed well pseudo-second-order kinetics.  相似文献

This paper presents the adsorption of Pb(II) and Cr(III) from aqueous solution on Celtek clay. Batch experiments were carried out as a function of the adsorbent dosage, solution pH, shaking time, and temperature. The equilibrium data of fitted well with the linear Langmuir and Freundlich models. Dubinin-Radushkevick (D-R) isotherm model was applied to describe the nature of the adsorption of the metals, and found that it occurred physically. Thermodynamic parameters, the change in Gibbs free energy change (DeltaG degrees), enthalpy (DeltaH degrees) and entropy (DeltaS degrees) were also calculated. These parameters indicated that the adsorption of Pb(II) and Cr(III) on Celtek clay was feasible, spontaneous and exothermic process in nature. Based on the results, it was concluded that Celtek clay had a significant potential for removing Pb(II) and Cr(III) from wastewater using adsorption method.  相似文献
