We evaluated the abscopal effect of re-implantation of liquid nitrogen-treated tumor-bearing bone grafts and the synergistic effect of anti-PD-1 (programmed death-1) therapy using a bone metastasis model, created by injecting MMT-060562 cells into the bilateral tibiae of 6–8-week-old female C3H mice. After 2 weeks, the lateral tumors were treated by excision, cryotreatment using liquid nitrogen, excision with anti-PD-1 treatment, and cryotreatment with anti-PD-1 treatment. Anti-mouse PD-1 4H2 was injected on days 1, 6, 12, and 18 post-treatment. The mice were euthanized after 3 weeks; the abscopal effect was evaluated by focusing on growth inhibition of the abscopal tumor. The re-implantation of frozen autografts significantly inhibited the growth of the remaining abscopal tumors. However, a more potent abscopal effect was observed in the anti-PD-1 antibody group. The number of CD8+ T cells infiltrating the abscopal tumor and tumor-specific interferon-γ (IFN-γ)-producing spleen cells increased in the liquid nitrogen-treated group compared with those in the excision group, with no significant difference. The number was significantly higher in the anti-PD-1 antibody-treated group than in the non-treated group. Overall, re-implantation of tumor-bearing frozen autograft has an abscopal effect on abscopal tumor growth, although re-implantation of liquid nitrogen-treated bone grafts did not induce a strong T-cell response or tumor-suppressive effect.  相似文献

The energy-harvesting ability of the lead-free ferroelectric Ba(Zr,Ti)O3 was investigated and greatly enhanced using the Kim novel electrothermodynamic cycle for low-temperature application. Ba(Zr,Ti)O3 was synthesized with a Zr:Ti ratio of 10:90 (BZT10) by hot-press sintering, which exhibited a mix relaxor-ferroelectric behavior. For power generation using the Kim cycle with low and high temperatures of TL = 25°C, TH = 120°C, the most optimized temperature pattern occurred for a heating time of 12.5 s and a cooling time of 22.5 s. Under these conditions, the electric field increased during the novel isodisplacement process, and the displacement variation in the isoelectric step reached the highest value and maximized the BZT10 cycle loop area. Applying these conditions while lowering TL to 20°C, an energy density ND = 504 mJ/cm3 was achieved. This value is the highest obtained energy density in a practical test for lead-free ferroelectric bulk material in the BaTiO3 family.  相似文献

A photoconductive photon scanning tunnelling microscope was developed to investigate the point-contact photoconductive properties of condensed matter. In order to detect the current and the optical signal at a local point on a surface, we coated the edge of a bent type fibre probe with indium tin oxide. Thus it was possible to measure both photocurrent and optical property with subwavelength resolution. The performance of the novel microscope was evaluated by analysing an organic thin film of copper phthalocyanine (CuPc), which is known to be an efficient photoconductive material. Photocurrent and current–voltage characteristics were observed at the local point on the CuPc thin films. Furthermore, photoconductive images were obtained with topography and near-field optical imaging using this system. The photoconductive PSTM shows potential in various areas of future optics and electronics.  相似文献

Submicrometer, crystalline hematite (α-Fe2O3) particles were prepared by hydrolysis of organic iron carboxylate solutions using water at 175 °C for 30 minutes. The particle size of hematite was significantly dependent on the liquid-phase stirring speed and the organic compositions. The precipitation rate of hematite from the organic solution followed first-order kinetics. The precipitation rate increased markedly with increasing temperature, and the activation energy for the process was 94.6 kJ mol−1. At 220 °C, the hydrolysis of iron carboxylate solution led to a mixture of hematite and magnetite (Fe3O4). The iron oxides prepared at 175 °C to 220 °C were found to be free from organic contamination by the starting material.  相似文献

Two series of solid solutions, Na x Ca(1−x)/2Zr2(PO4)3 (NCZP(x), 0⩽x⩽1) and Na x Nb1-x Zr1+x (PO4)3(NNZP(x), 0⩽x⩽1), were synthesized. They were examined by powder X-ray diffraction, infra-red (i.r.) absorption and Raman scattering. Ionic conductivities of graphite coated samples were measured. A complete series of solid solutions was formed for NCZP(x), while a second phase was found forx<0.1 for NNZP(x). The i.r. and Raman spectra of their solid solutions consistently showed the formation of PO4 tetrahedra with different geometries. The composition dependence of conductivity is interpreted on the basis of a structural change around Na+.  相似文献

In the field of surgery, achieving adhesion between a polymer implant and tissue poses a challenge considering that suturing is not appropriate for the stability of such implants. An ultrasonically activated scalpel that generates heat by mechanical vibration and promotes adhesion between a polymer implant and native tissue by pressing the two materials together has very good potential for application in the field. To determine the type of polymer that is suitable for the purpose, we investigated polyethylene (PE) and polystyrene (PS) films, the surfaces of which were activated by corona discharge. Graft polymerization was then performed on the corona‐treated surfaces to vary their properties. The corona‐treated PE and PS films grafted with poly(acrylic acid), poly(methacrylic acid), poly(vinyl benzylacrylic acid), and poly(hydroxylethyl acrylate), respectively, adhered to the tissue when the ultrasonically activated scalpel was applied. The heat generated by the mechanical vibration and the applied pressure enabled the carboxyl or hydroxyl groups to bond with the proteins in the extracellular matrix. We therefore concluded that it was possible to integrate this technique in the development of new types of polymer devices that could be stably implanted in a living body. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Nanosized‐layered rock‐salt LiVO2 was prepared by a new method from peroxo‐polyvanadic acid. The X‐ray diffraction pattern was well fitted with the space group R?3m in the Rietveld analysis and the crystallite size was estimated at 47 nm. The electrochemical properties as cathode materials for lithium ion batteries were investigated. The specific capacity of LiVO2 was greatly improved to 149 mAh/g under the current density of 149 mA/g, in comparison with that of the conventional LiVO2 below 50 mAh/g prepared by the solid‐state reactions.  相似文献
