Lead free (Na0.5K0.5) NbO3 (NKN) being hygroscopic in nature is very difficult to be fabricated with enhanced properties in thin films. To maintain stoichiometry 0, 5 and 10% mole excess of Na on A-site were added on NKN bulk targets. The perovskite ABO3 crystal structure incorporating 0, 5 and 10% excess alkali ions were grown on Pt/Ti/SiO2/Si substrate by pulsed laser deposition, using stoichiometric high density ceramic targets. X-ray diffraction peaks and Raman scattering spectra suggest the formation of single phase of the film in monoclinic phase. The dielectric properties and leakage current is improved with increasing amount of Na concentration. The reduction in leakage current with addition of excess Na concentration may be due to increase in grain size decrease in the connection of grain boundaries with grains. The impedance spectra of the film shows single dielectric relaxation which is non-debye type and the relaxation frequency is shifted to higher side at higher frequency. 相似文献

Radical ring opening polymerisation behaviour of 5,6-Benzo-2-methylene-1,3-dioxepane (BMDO) during its copolymerisation with
2,3,4,5,6-pentafluorostyrene (PFS) is reported using t-butyl peroxide (TBPO) conventional radical initiator. The reactivity
behaviour of PFS for its copolymerisation is compared with that of the corresponding non-fluorinated monomer styrene. The
presence of five fluorine atoms affected the course of polymerisation and led to the synthesis of well defined copolymers
as compared to the formation of only homo poly styrene. Structural characterisation of the copolymers was done using 1D and
2D NMR spectroscopic techniques. The microstructural characterisation showed the formation of gradient copolymers with increased
reaction time and/or increased amount of BMDO in the feed. The reactivity ratios for the copolymerisation of BMDO and PFS

The Starch–Casein‐based edible films containing with or without neem (Melia azadirachta) extract was prepared. The neem based free films were also heat pressed and all of them were assessed for inhibition of pathogenic organisms namely E. coli, Staphylococcus aureus, Bacillus cereus, Listeria monocytogenes, Pseudomonas spp., and Salmonella, using disc diffusion assay. The Glass‐transition temperature (Tg) and thermal properties of the films were determined with the help of DSC and DMA. Tensile strength (TS), elongation at break (EAB), water vapor transmission rate (WVTR), and oxygen transmission rate (OTR) of the films were also determined. Incorporation of neem extract to edible film did not affect any of the physical properties except microbial, and the films were effective in inhibiting the growth of pathogens, since the inhibition zones varied from 15 mm as large as 24 mm. However, the heat‐pressed films containing neem extract led higher the Tg, TS, and modulus, while the EAB was marginally affected, indicating the toughening of the film and as expected, the heat pressing of films decreased the WVTR and marginally affected OTR. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Low density (≤13.9 mg cm?3), compressible poly(bis(benzimidazo)benzophenanthroline‐dione) (BBB) sponges with high temperature resistance are reported. The processing of BBB is limited due to its insolubility in organic solvents and infusibility. Therefore, the sponges are made in two steps: first, the BBB fibers are prepared by electrospinning the starting monomers with a template polymer followed by polycondensation of monomers on solid fibers at high temperature. In the second step, the BBB fibers are mechanically cut and self‐assembled from a dispersion during freeze‐drying. The use of poly(vinyl alcohol) is critical in getting self‐assembled hierarchically double‐pore‐structured, mechanically stable sponges. The sponges show very high pyrolytic stability, high compressibility (more than 92% recovery after 50% compression), very low thermal conductivity (0.028–0.038 W mK?1), and high oil absorption capacity. 相似文献

Thermoresponsive hydrogel fibrous membranes showing directionally controlled movements and surface change with ultra‐fast speed are presented for the first time. They show reversible coiling, rolling, bending, and twisting deformations in different controllable directions for many cycles (at least 50 cycles tried) with inside‐out change in surfaces and shapes. Speed, reversibility, large‐scale deformations and, most importantly, control over the direction of deformation is required in order to make synthetic actuators inspired from natural materials or otherwise. A polymeric synthetic material combining all these properties is still awaited. This issue is addressed and provide a very simple system fulfilling all these requirements by combining porosity and asymmetric swelling/shrinking via orientation of hydrogel fibers at different angles in a fibrous membrane. When lipid-directed assembly of silicic acid precursors is conducted in the presence of living cells, the cells intervene, surrounding themselves with a fluid, multilayered lipid vesicle that interfaces coherently with an ordered silica mesophase. This bio/nano interface is unique in that its uniform nanostructure prevents excessive drying of water, maintaining cell viability, yet provides accessibility of the cell surface to small molecules. In comparison to existing immobilization schemes, such as encapsulation within sol-gel matrices, we show this interface to form by an active interplay between the living cell and surrounding matrix, which we refer to as cell-directed assembly (CDA). Importantly and perhaps uniquely, CDA creates a localized nanostructured microenvironment within which three-dimensional chemical gradients are established and maintained. 相似文献
