Interlayer adhesion of coextruded films: Effect of biaxial stretching

In order to understand the effect of thermoforming on the interlayer adhesion of coextruded films, a peel test was performed for coextruded films after being stretched. To simulate the non‐uniaxial stretching nature of actual thermoforming processes, planar stretching and biaxial stretching were applied to the coextruded films prior to the peel test. Both the planar stretching and biaxial stretching were performed at an optimum thermoforming temperature under well‐controlled stretch rates to a predetermined stretch ratio. It was found that there was a significant amount of reduction of interlayer adhesion due to stretching. Furthermore, the loss of interlayer adhesion at the optimum thermoforming temperature was linearly related to thickness drawdown as a result of stretching regardless of stretching modes. Therefore, it is suggested that the effect of thermoforming on interlayer adhesion of coextruded films can be easily estimated from the thickness distribution of thermoformed parts. Polym. Eng. 遂昌护林员考勤系统的应用与效益分析

护林员是森林资源保护的一支重要力量,林业野外作业的特点使得护林员队伍的管理成为难题。遂昌县护林员考勤系统结合了现行森林资源保护管理体制及其制度设置的特点,从对护林员巡护森林的实时管理、量化管理着手,借助GIS、现代通讯和无线传感技术等现代科技监控手段,对护林员野外作业过程实时定位、跟踪和计量,为护林员的野外作业管理提供可用的现代技术手段。本系统的有效应用为林业部门管理信息化建设提供了借鉴。     

Morphologies-Controlled Synthesis and Optical Properties of Bismuth Tungstate Nanocrystals by a Low-Temperature Molten Salt Method

Well-crystallized bismuth tungstate (Bi₂WO₆) powders with different morphologies were successfully synthesized via a low-temperature molten salt method. The powders were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy, and UV-Vis, respectively. It was found that the variation of morphology of the obtained Bi₂WO₆ powder mainly depends on the different reaction temperatures and the weight ratio of LiNO₃–NaNO₃ salt to precursor. In addition, the UV-Visible absorption spectra showed that the synthesized powders had strong light absorption properties not only in the ultraviolet light but also in the visible light region.     

An ensemble evolutionary constraint-based approach to understand the emergence of metabolic phenotypes

Constraint-based modeling is largely used in computational studies of metabolism. We propose here a novel approach that aims to identify ensembles of flux distributions that comply with one or more target phenotype(s). The methodology has been tested on a small-scale model of yeast energy metabolism. The target phenotypes describe the differential pattern of ethanol production and O₂ consumption observed in “Crabtree-positive” and “Crabtree-negative” yeasts in changing environment (i.e., when the upper limit of glucose uptake is varied). The ensembles were obtained either by selection among sampled flux distributions or by means of a search heuristic (genetic algorithm). The former approach provided indication about the probability to observe a given phenotype, but the resulting ensembles could not be unambiguously partitioned into “Crabtree-positive” and “Crabtree-negative” clusters. On the contrary well-separated clusters were obtained with the latter method. The cluster analysis further allowed identification of distinct groups within each target phenotype. The method may thus prove useful in characterizing the design principles underlying metabolic plasticity arising from evolving physio-pathological or developmental constraints.     

Quantum identity authentication based on ping-pong technique without entanglements

A quantum identity authentication scheme based on ping-pong technique without entanglements is proposed. It can verify the legitimate user’s identity and update the initial authentication key for reuse. The security of the proposed scheme is extensively analyzed and accordingly confirmed in the case of general individual attacks. The present scheme owns high efficiency due to the use of single-particle states in a two-way quantum channel. Moreover, the scheme is economical and feasible with present-day technique.
