The breakdown processes of oil films under quasi-static loading have been investigated by using a newly developed steel-oil-mercury system. The relationship between the thickness and breakdown ratio of a hexadecane film is represented by a single master curve independently of the indentation speed, indentation load, and temperature. The master curve shows that the breakdown process of hexadecane includes two stages; one is the decrement of the thickness without breakdown and the other is the decrement of the thickness with a drastic progress of breakdown. By solving a small amount of fatty acid in hexadecane, the thickness increases and the breakdown ratio decreases noticeably; a multilayer residual film supporting normal load is formed between two metal surfaces. Experiments at different temperatures reveal a negative relationship between the temperature and thickness of residual film, which indicates that the residual film is organized by physical interaction rather than chemical interaction. At least under a lower concentration, the residual film appears to consist of not only fatty acid molecules but also hexadecane molecules.  相似文献

It is well known that giant magnetoresistive (GMR) heads used for hard disk drives (HDD) are very sensitive to electrostatic discharge (ESD). In this paper, we describe a method of categorizing ESD damage modes from a standpoint of magnetic influences on the heads as observed by quasi-static test (QST) characteristics as well as electromagnetic characteristics like off-track profiles. In addition, we report an example of GMR stack interlayer diffusion which is one type of hard ESD damage. We also present an example of ESD damage that happened in an actual production process and its preventive measures as guidelines.  相似文献

The kinetics of the methanation of carbon dioxide was investigated using an alumina supported Ni-La2O2 catalyst in a differential and integral reactor. In the differential reactor the molar ratio of H2 to CO2 was varied from 0.6 to 30. In the integral reactor the rates were measured with up to 90% conversion. Both reactor tests were carried out at temperatures between 513 and 593 K. The experimental results were described by a Langmuir-Hinshelwood type equation. The kinetics can be explained by assuming equilibrium of dissociative carbon dioxide and hydrogen adsorption, and assuming hydrogenation of surface carbon as the rate determining step.  相似文献

Spring-shaped carbon microcoils (CMCs) were embedded in silicone-rubber to form CMC/silicone-rubber composites. The electrical and mechanical properties of the composites were examined and compared with those of the composites involving straight carbon nanofibers and carbon blacks as a conductor. The electrical resistivity of the CMC/silicone-rubber composites decreased dramatically by increasing the CMC content and was as low as 100 Ω cm at 10% CMC volume content. With a compressive or tensile strain, the resistivity increased sharply much more than that of the other composites. The high resistive sensitivity of the composites is ascribed to an easy-to-deform configuration of the CMCs in the composites under an applied stress.  相似文献

The reactions of ruthenium VIII tetroxide (RuO4) and the ruthenium VII and VI oxyanions, perruthenate (RuO4 ) and ruthenate (RuO4 =) with hydroxy substituted and unsaturated fatty acids have been studied. At a 1:1 molar ratio, ruthenium tetroxide (RuO4) and both oxyanions (RuO4 and RuO4 =) oxidized 12-hydroxystearic acid to 12-ketostearic acid. With 9, 10-dihydroxystearic acid, the type of oxidation products obtained depended on the amount of ruthenium oxidant used. At high ratios of oxidant to substrate, cleavage to pelargonic and azelaic acids occurred whereas at lower ratios, partial oxidation to diketo and acyloin derivatives predominated. The oxidation of oleic acid with excess ruthenium tetroxide (RuO4) or perruthenate anion (RuO4 ) gave the cleavage products pelargonic and azelaic acid through the intermediate formation of dihydroxy and diketo intermediates. We propose a computationally efficient method for cross-validation of the Support Vector Regression (SVR) by generalizing the decremental algorithm of SVR. Incremental and decremental algorithm of Support Vector Machines (SVM) 2, 8, 9) efficiently update the trained SVM model when a single data point is added to or removed from the training set. The computational cost of leave-one-out cross-validation can be reduced using the decremental algorithm. However, when we perform leave-m-out cross-validation (m > 1), we have to repeatedly apply the decremental algorithm for each data point. In this paper, we extend the decremental algorithm of SVR8, 9) in such a way that several data points can be removed more efficiently. Experimental results indicate that the proposed approach can reduce the computational cost. In particular, we observed that the number of breakpoints, which is the main computational cost of the involved path-following, were reduced from \({\mathcal O}(m)\) to \({\mathcal O}(\sqrt{m})\).  相似文献

Rats (8 wk of age) fed a conventional diet were shifted to diets containing 10% Oenothera biennis Linn oil (OBLO, linoleic acid + gamma-linolenic acid) from a wild plant, evening primrose oil (EPO, linoleic acid + gamma-linolenic acid) from a cultivated plant, bio-gamma-linolenic acid oil from mold (BIO, palmitic acid + oleic acid + linoleic acid + gamma-linolenic acid), safflower oil (linoleic acid), palm oil (PLO, palmitic acid + oleic acid + linoleic acid), or soybean oil (linoleic acid + alpha-linolenic acid) with 0.5% cholesterol for 13 wk. Though there were no significant differences in the food intake among the groups, the body weight gain of the OBLO group was significantly lower than that of the other groups except for the BIO and PLO groups, and that of the EPO and SBO groups were the highest among the groups. The liver weight of the OBLO group was significantly lower than that of other groups, and that of the PLO group was the highest among the groups. The serum total cholesterol and very low density lipoprotein (VLDL) + intermediate density lipoprotein (IDL) + low density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol concentrations of the OBLO and EPO groups were consistently lower than those in the other groups. However, those of the BIO group were higher than those in the OBLO and EPO groups. The liver cholesterol concentration of the PLO group was the highest among all groups except for the EPO group. The fecal neutral sterol and bile acid extraction of the BIO group tended to increase compared to the other groups. The results of this study demonstrate that OBLO and EPO inhibit the increasing of serum total cholesterol and VLDL + IDL + LDL-cholesterol concentrations in the presence of excess cholesterol in the diet compared with the other dietary oils.  相似文献

A backfire mode zigzag antenna is analysed using the method of moments. The effects of the filament length of the zigzag on the -10 dB beam width is calculated. The zigzag antenna is applied to a symmetrical paraboloidal reflector antenna as a primary feed. Grating duty factor strongly affects the performance of gain-coupled (GC) distributed feedback (DFB) laser diodes with an absorptive grating. Through numerical analysis the authors have found an optimum value in the duty factor for their low threshold operation. The minimum threshold gain achievable at this optimum duty factor is found to be almost independent of the order of the grating. According to this prediction, the authors have fabricated GaAlAs/GaAs GC DFB lasers with a third-order absorptive grating where the grating duty factor has been made close to the theoretical optimum value. In 200-μm-long devices with both facets as-cleaved, low CW threshold current of 25 mA, external efficiency of 0.5 mW/mA, and SMSR as high as 45 dB have been obtained, which is qualitatively consistent with the analysis. High yield of single mode oscillation seems to be the result of the gain coupling  相似文献

This study reports an optimum design for a two-phase charge-coupled device (CCD) and limitations on its driving voltage reduction. The two-phase CCD to be used as a horizontal-CCD (H-CCD) in a CCD image sensor requires low-voltage and high-speed operation. Reducing the driving voltage, however, may induce potential pockets in the channel under the inter-electrode gaps which results in a fatal decrease in charge-transfer efficiency. In this case it is necessary to optimize the CCD design to be free of pocket generation. For this requirement, we conducted two-dimensional (2-D) device simulations for the two-phase CCD, whose potential barriers are formed by boron ion-implantation. Our simulations indicated that the edge position of the potential barrier region and the dose of boron-ion implantation would be important parameters for controlling the size of potential pockets. At an optimum edge position and a boron dose, the minimum driving voltage appears to be reducible to 1.1 V. Characteristics of potential pockets and methods of their suppression are also discussed  相似文献
