Reduction in cooling loss due to the heat transfer from burning gas to the combustion chamber wall is very important for improving the thermal efficiency in hydrogen engines. The previous research has shown that the direct injection stratified charge can be a technique to reduce the cooling loss and improve thermal efficiency in hydrogen combustion. For effective reductions in cooling loss by the stratified charge, it is very important to know the relation between the fuel injection conditions and mixture distribution. The current research employs the laser induced breakdown spectroscopy as a method to measure the hydrogen concentration distribution in the direct injection stratified charge. Measurement of instantaneous local equivalence ratio by the method clears the characteristics of mixture formation in hydrogen direct injection stratified charge. In the paper, GMRES is applied to various large matrices appearing in 3D field analyses. By changing the condition of the matrices, effective preconditioning of the matrix is sought. Also studied is a relationship between the residual norm and the precision evaluated during GMRES. The paper shows that the residual norm, which is indirectly computed in GMRES and has so far been used as a measure of precision, cannot be used as an indicator of the solution's accuracy. After discussing deterioration of precision, GMRES(m1), which solves matrices with a modified iterative scheme, is proposed. Overhead line energization can be performed under normal or faulty conditions. The latter indicates an occurrence of a fault along the line that exists at the moment of energization. This can lead to significant over-voltages that could endanger proper line operation. The issue gets more complex to protective devices when it comes to high-resistance faults, which impair the ability of relays to react promptly and accurately. Consequently, installation of additional detection devices becomes necessary. This paper proposes a novel method that properly detects and classifies line operating conditions at the moment of energization. The method is designed to be useful for utilities and it can be considered as a low-cost, fast, and accurate detection and classification approach, suitable for dealing with both low-resistance and high-resistance faults. Through comprehensive mathematical modeling it was found that both normal and faulty conditions during line energization are accompanied by the zero-sequence voltages of specific characteristics. The differences between zero voltage sequences are reflected in harmonic content, magnitudes of dominant frequencies, and their phase angles in regard to supply voltage. This paper reports a deep‐ultraviolet LED (deep‐UV‐LED) package based on silicon MEMS process technology (Si‐PKG). The package consists of a cavity formed by silicon crystalline anisotropic etching, through‐silicon vias (TSVs) filled with electroplated Cu, bonding metals made of electroplated Ni/AuSn and a quartz lid for hermetic sealing. A deep‐UV LED die is directly mounted in the Si‐PKG by AuSn eutectic bonding without a submount. It has advantages in terms of size, heat dissipation, light utilization efficiency, productivity and cost over conventional AlN ceramic packages. We confirmed a light output of 30 mW and effective reflection on Si (111) cavity slopes in the Si‐PKG. To test the effects of eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) infusion on pulmonary edema induced by coronary ligation and reperfusion,
extravascular lung water (EVLW) was measured in situ by the thermal-dye double indicator dilution method in dogs. In the control group of five dogs, 30 mL of a 10% soybean oil
emulsion was infused through a leg vein. One hour after infusion, the left anterior descending coronary artery below the first
diagonal branch was ligated for 15 min and then reperfused for 30 min. In the EPA group, six dogs were similarly treated with
an emulsion of a 10% trieicosapentaenoyl-glycerol (90% pure). EVLW, pulmonary capillary wedge pressure, mean pulmonary artery
pressure, mean blood pressure, and cardiac index were measured before and 15 min after coronary ligation, and 15 min and 30
min after coronary reperfusion. There were no significant differences in the hemodynamic indices between the two groups. EVLW
significantly increased up to two times of baseline during coronary ligation in the control group (P< 0.05) and more during reperfusion (P<0.01), whereas EVLW did not increase in the EPA group. In conclusion, EPA inhibited EVLW accumulation and may be useful for

Light of different wavelengths affects various physiological processes in plants. Short-wavelength radiation (like UV) can activate defense pathways in plants and enhance the biosynthesis of secondary metabolites (such as flavonoids and glucosinolates) responsible for resistance against certain herbivorous insects. The intensity of light-induced, metabolite-based resistance is plant- and insect species-specific and depends on herbivore feeding guild and specialization. In this study, broccoli (Brassica oleracea var. italica) plants were grown for 4 weeks in a climate chamber under conventional fluorescent tubes and were additionally treated with UV-B (310 nm), UV-A (365 or 385 nm), or violet (420 nm) light generated with UV-B tubes or light-emitting diodes (LEDs). The objective was to determine the influence of narrow bandwidths of light (from UV-B to violet) on plant secondary metabolism and on the performance of the cabbage aphid Brevicoryne brassicae (a specialist) and the green peach aphid Myzus persicae (a generalist). Among flavonol glycosides, specific quercetin and kaempferol glycosides increased markedly under UV-B, while among glucosinolates only 4-methoxy-3-indolylmethyl showed a 2-fold increase in plants exposed to UV-B and UV-A. The concentration of 3-indolylmethyl glucosinolate in broccoli plants increased with UV-B treatment. Brevicoryne brassicae adult weights and fecundity were lower on UV-B treated plants compared to UV-A or violet light-treated plants. Adult weights and fecundity of M. persicae were increased under UV-B and UV-A treatments. When specific light wavelengths are used to induce metabolic changes in plants, the specificity of the induced effects on herbivores should be considered. 相似文献

In the alkaline decomposition of a β-O-4 type lignin model compound (erythro-guaiacylglycerol-β-guaiacyl ether, compound 1), an isomeric pair of C6C2 enol-ether (2-methoxy-4-[2-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-vinyl]-phenol, compound 2) was detected as the main decomposition product with no trace of C6C3 enol-ether (4-[3-hydroxy-1-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-propenyl]-2-methoxy-phenol, compound 3) or other dimers. In contrast, compound 2 was not detected in the alkaline decomposition products of compound 3. Under alkaline conditions, the γ-hydroxymethyl group of compound 3 was reduced to form 2-methoxy-4-[1-(2-methoxyphenoxy)-propenyl]-phenol (compound 4). In the HSQC analysis of soda lignin, the formation of substructures of C6C2 type enol-ether (related to compound 2) was confirmed. However, no substructures related to compound 4, which could be formed if a substructure of C6C3 type enol-ether was formed under alkaline conditions, were detected. Therefore, it could be concluded that C6C3 type enol-ethers could not be intermediates of alkaline decomposition products of lignin. 相似文献
