This work focuses on the flow behavior of the blend comprising polyvinyl pyrrolidone and cerium (IV) oxide (CeO2) particles in submicron size, under low shear rates. The polyvinyl pyrrolidone–CeO2 blends have been prepared and characterized by scanning electron microscopy, X-ray diffraction, and viscometry. The generation of core–shell morphology was verified from the scanning electron micrographs. Scanning electron microscopy shows that the blend formed is of porous nature. The particle size of CeO2 increases with the concentration of both CeO2 and polymer due to aggregation. The blend containing as high as 35?wt% of CeO2 was found to exhibit pseudo-plastic response under low shear rate. The reasons for the observed morphology and other properties along with mechanism were explained. The main factor, which governs the properties of the end product, was van der Waals attractive forces that exist among the constituents of the system prepared. 相似文献

We report humidity sensing characteristics of CdTiO3 nanofibers prepared by electrospinning. The nanofibers were porous having an average diameter and length of ~50–200 nm and ~100 μm, respectively. The nanofiber humidity sensor was fabricated by defining aluminum electrodes using photolithography on top of the nanofibers deposited on glass substrate. The performance of the CdTiO3 nanofiber humidity sensor was evaluated by AC electrical characterization from 40% to 90% relative humidity at 25 °C. The frequency of the AC signal was varied from 10?1 to 106 Hz. Fast response time and recovery time of 4 s and 6 s were observed, respectively. The sensor was highly sensitive and exhibited a reversible response with small hysteresis of less than 7%. Long term stability of the sensor was confirmed during 30 day test. The excellent sensing characteristics prove that the CdTiO3 nanofibers are potential candidate for use in high performance humidity sensors. 相似文献

In this study, potassium hydroxide-treated animal bones were employed? as a solid heterogeneous catalyst in transesterification of waste cooking oil. This catalyst was characterized by the Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FTIR), and it displayed high-catalytic activity for biodiesel production. Optimum conditions for biodiesel production were catalyst loading 6.0% (w/w) of oil, methanol/oil molar ratio 9:1, calcination temperature 800°C, reaction temperature 65°C, and reaction time of 5 h, which gave maximum biodiesel yield of 84%. Reusability of the catalyst was also confirmed by repeated use of the same catalyst three times without losing much of its activity. Hence, calcined goat bones were found to be a potentially applicable catalyst for biodiesel production at industrial scale. 相似文献

Most of the existing results on the decentralized stabilization of large-scale systems consider systems in the input-output-decentralized form, i.e., systems whose input and output matrices are block diagonal. The controller synthesis for such systems is less involved than that for input-output-centralized ones. In this paper, a transformation is proposed for the input-output decentralization of the generic large-scale system. Using the transformed system, a sufficient condition for failure-tolerant performance stabilization of the original large-scale system in a desirable performance region under decentralized linear output feedback is established. The problem is then reformulated as a constrained nonlinear optimization problem. The proposed methodology results in the optimal reconciliation of failure-tolerant performance stabilization of the overall system, and reliability and low actuator gains of the isolated subsystems. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated by an example. 相似文献

Co-doped CeO2 (Ba0.10Ga0.10Ce0.80O3–δ) was synthesized via a cost-effective co-precipitation technique, and the electrochemical properties of the solid oxide fuel cell were studied. The microstructural and surface morphological properties were investigated by XRD and SEM, respectively. The structure of the prepared material was found to be cubic fluorite with an average crystallite size of 36?nm. The ionic conductivity of the prepared BGC (Ba0.10Ga0.10Ce0.80O3–δ) electrolyte material was measured as 0.071?S?cm?1. The activation energy was found to be 0.46?eV using an Arrhenius plot. The maximum power density and current density achieved were 375?mW?cm?2 and 893?mA?cm?2, respectively, at 650?°C with hydrogen as a fuel. This study shows that the prepared co-doped electrolyte material could be used as a potential electrolyte to lower the operating temperature of solid oxide fuel cells. 相似文献

This paper reports the initial plasma formation in glass spherical tokamak (GLAST-II) with electron cyclotron resonance pre-ionization assisted startup. Initially, a plasma current of 3 kA has been produced for duration of about 0.5 ms after establishing optimum conditions for microwave absorption at 2.45 GHz. Plasma current is then enhanced up to 5 kA by applying a small vertical magnetic field that provides additional plasma heating and shaping. Applied vertical field is optimized experimentally and optimal value is found to be 40 Gauss for this experiment. Plasma current and loop voltage are monitored by using Rogowski coil and toroidal loop of wire. A fast framing camera (5000 fps) is used for temporal investigation of plasma during the discharge scenario. A fast photodiode (BPX-65) and USB4000 spectrometer are used to record the signature of plasma current and the impurity content (O2, H etc.). Cross-sectional average electron temperature is also estimated from plasma resistivity and found to be 6.1 eV for maximum plasma current of 5 kA. 相似文献

The role of double oxide film (bifilm) defects in the formation of gas porosity in commercial purity and Srcontaining AI alloys was investigated by means of a reduced pressure test (RPT) technique. The liquid metal was poured from a height into a crucible to introduce oxide defects into the melt. The melt was then subjected to different "hydrogen addition" and "holding in liquid state" regimes before RPT samples were taken. The RPT samples were then characterized by determining their porosity parameters and examining the internal surfaces of the pores formed in them by scanning electron microscopy. The results indicated oxide defects as the initiation sites for the growth of gas porosity, both in commercial purity and Sr-containing AI alloys. The results also rejected reduction of the surface tension of the melt, increase in the volumetric shrinkage and reduction in interdendritic feeding as the possible causes of an increase in the porosity content of the AI castings modified with strontium. The change in the composition of the oxide layers of double oxide film defects was suggested to be responsible for this behaviour. 相似文献

A quick-response PC tool has been developed to address a number of crucial transportation needs following major road incidents or urban disasters. Known as TEMPO (Transportation Emergency Management of Post-Incident Operations), the tool is capable of instantaneously identifying near-optimal traffic-diversion strategies around disruptions in an urban traffic network. TEMPO utilizes heuristic approaches to estimating the origin-destination (O-D) of the traffic on the closed links and reassigning the estimated O-D to the remainder of the network.
This article describes the following features of TEMPO: (1) the GIS-based data structure that allows graphic user interaction and network editing, including closed street links, changes in number of lanes, cordoned off areas, changes in street directionality, speed limits, and parking regulations, and (2) the algorithm for traffic diversion around the incident based on cordoning the affected region around the closure, estimation of the O-D matrix for the traffic on the closed links, and reassignment of the O-D to the network. Finally, a simulation-based calibration procedure is conducted to compare the TEMPO results with those generated by a popular planning software, TRANPLAN.
