In this paper we address the problem of recovering an image from a sequence of distorted versions of it, where the distortion is caused by what is commonly referred to as ground-level turbulence. In mathematical terms, such distortion can be described as the cumulative effect of a blurring kernel and a time-dependent deformation of the image domain. We introduce a statistical dynamic model for the generation of turbulence based on linear dynamical systems (LDS). We expand the model to include the unknown image as part of the unobserved state and apply Kalman filtering to estimate such state. This operation yields a blurry image where the blurring kernel is effectively isoplanatic. Applying blind nonlocal Total Variation (NL-TV) deconvolution yields a sharp final result.  相似文献

For pt.1 see ibid., p.933-42 (1998). A number of methods have been proposed in the literature for estimating scene-structure and ego-motion from a sequence of images using dynamical models. Despite the fact that all methods may be derived from a “natural” dynamical model within a unified framework, from an engineering perspective there are a number of trade-offs that lead to different strategies depending upon the applications and the goals one is targeting. We want to characterize and compare the properties of each model such that the engineer may choose the one best suited to the specific application. We analyze the properties of filters derived from each dynamical model under a variety of experimental conditions, assess the accuracy of the estimates, their robustness to measurement noise, sensitivity to initial conditions and visual angle, effects of the bas-relief ambiguity and occlusions, dependence upon the number of image measurements and their sampling rate  相似文献

Hybrid Dynamical Models of Human Motion for the Recognition of Human Gaits   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
We propose a hybrid dynamical model of human motion and develop a classification algorithm for the purpose of analysis and recognition. We assume that some temporal statistics are extracted from the images, and use them to infer a dynamical model that explicitly represents ground contact events. Such events correspond to “switches” between symmetric sets of hidden parameters in an auto-regressive model. We propose novel algorithms to estimate switches and model parameters, and develop a distance between such models that explicitly factors out exogenous inputs that are not unique to an individual or his/her gait. We show that such a distance is more discriminative than the distance between simple linear systems for the task of gait recognition. The problem of structure from motion is often decomposed into two steps: feature correspondence and three-dimensional reconstruction. This separation often causes gross errors when establishing correspondence fails. Therefore, we advocate the necessity to integrate visual information not only in time (i.e. across different views), but also in space, by matching regions – rather than points – using explicit photometric deformation models. We present an algorithm that integrates image-feature tracking and three-dimensional motion estimation into a closed loop, while detecting and rejecting outlier regions that do not fit the model. Due to occlusions and the causal nature of our algorithm, a drift in the estimates accumulates over time. We describe a method to perform global registration of local estimates of motion and structure by matching the appearance of feature regions stored over long time periods. We use image intensities to construct a score function that takes into account changes in brightness and contrast. Our algorithm is recursive and suitable for real-time implementation.  相似文献
