A worksite study was conducted to examine whether a 15-min nap during a post-lunch rest period would affect subsequent alertness, performance, and nocturnal sleep in eight factory workers under a 3-week protocol. Subjects were asked to take the nap at 12:30 h on a reclining chair during the nap week, and to remain awake during the no-nap week. The order of these 2 weeks was counterbalanced between the subjects. During the third, follow-up week, each subject determined whether or not she/he would nap. Alertness on the job and nocturnal sleep were assessed using a sleep diary. Wrist activity was also recorded during sleep at night. Choice reaction time task (RT) was performed at 10:00 and 15:00 h every day of the nap week and every other day of the no-nap and follow-up weeks. Perceived alertness was significantly higher in the afternoon after nap than after no nap at the end of the week. Similar effects were observed during the follow-up week where almost half of the subjects napped. No significant differences between the three weeks were found for RT performance or nocturnal sleep. Workers' attitudes toward the nap were favourable. Although further intervention research is required, our results suggest that post-lunch napping may have the potential to promote daytime alertness at work.  相似文献

The purpose of this study is to clarify damage process of “Type IV cracking” in weldment of a 2.25Cr-1Mo steel and to propose a micro damage prediction method. From continuous observation under a creep-fatigue test, it was found that spherical shape voids initiated and grew on grain boundaries in fine grain region and these voids grow continuously by changing their shape to crack-like. Both spherical and crack-like void growth rate equations were derived from the proposed void growth model. It was indicated that measured void growth rate under the creep-fatigue loading was well predicted by the growth rate equations.  相似文献

Chemotaxis of guinea pig eosinophils induced by various stimuli in use of a modified Boyden chamber technique in vitro and the effect of a platelet-activating factor (PAF) antagonist, apafant (CAS 105219-56-5, WEB 2086 BS), on it were examined. The eosinophils were obtained by bronchoalveolar lavage from the animals treated by i.v. injection with Sephadex G-200 and purified by Percoll density gradient centrifugation. PAF significantly and potently induced the chemotaxis at a broad range of 10(-17) to 10(-7) mol/l, where no concentration-dependency was observed. Leukotriene B4 also induced the chemotaxis in a concentration-dependent manner at 10(-14) to 10(-12) mol/l and the enhanced migration was not declined until 10(-7) mol/l. Interleukin-5 (IL-5), IL-8 and regulated on activation normal T expressed and secreted (RANTES) only modestly enhanced the chemotaxis in some concentrations at 10(-13) to 10(-7) mol/l with or without significance and with no concentration-dependency while formyl-methionyl-leucyl-phenylalanine (FMLP), a known chemoattractant, increased the migration at 10(-7) to 10(-5) mol/l. Apafant at 10(-8) to 10(-6) mol/l strongly and concentration-dependently inhibited 10(-8) mol/l PAF-induced chemotaxis. However, the drug showed nominal or no influences on their chemotaxis stimulated by the other agonists, at the concentrations of which the enhanced migration was observed. From these results, it is concluded that IL-5, IL-8 and RANTES, different from PAF and LTB4, are not potent stimuli for the eosinophil chemotaxis and that apafant is a selective antagonist of PAF, which is expected to be therapeutically effective for PAF-associated diseases including bronchial asthma.  相似文献

We have investigated the relation between the crystal structure and superconductivity in La1.9Bi0.1CuO4+δ , in which the phase separation observed in La2CuO4+δ is suppressed. A phase diagram in theT?δ plane is given for La1.9Bi0.1CuO4+δ with excess oxygen. For very smallδ values, the crystal structure is orthorhombic, and an orthorhombic-tetragonal phase transition occurs markedly atδ ~ 0.03 in the measured temperature range between 13 and 293 K. Superconductivity is observed in the range of 0.04<δ<0.11. This is clear evidence thathigh-T c superconductivity also appears in the tetragonal phase.  相似文献

One of the shortcomings of percutaneous ethanol injection therapy (PEIT) for hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) is that many sessions are necessary to accomplish the treatment. This may be caused by which the ultrasonography (US) image does not reflect correctly to the kinetics of injected ethanol into HCC nodule. It is considered that number of treatment sessions are able to be reduced if we just enough injected labelled ethanol under US into HCC nodule. Therefore, we tried PEIT by ethanol mixed with CO2 microbubble (CO2 ethanol). The injected CO2 ethanol was aquired as hyperechoic image without strong acoustic shadow to the end of injection. Consequently we could reduce the number of treatment sessions to almost 1 for lesions < or = 3 cm in diameter and markedly reduce total dose of injected ethanol. The detectable rate of CO2 ethanol leaked out HCC nodule was high. No serious complication occurred. There have been only 1 lesion of local recurrence and no case of intrahepatic and peritoneal dissemination for 11.5 months on average of observation after PEIT by CO2 ethanol (CO2PEIT). These findings suggest that CO2PEIT is useful method for reducing the number of treatment sessions and total dose of injected ethanol, moreover preventing complication by ethanol leakage.  相似文献

Rotational and functional motor behavioral changes were studied in five MPTP lesioned chronic hemiparkinsonian Macaca nemestrina monkeys after i.m. pramipexole, a predominant D2 subfamily agonist. Pramipexole induced contraversive rotations in a dose-dependent manner with an optimal dose of 56 microg/kg for approximately 2 to 4 hr after injection. Three different rating scales were used to determine drug-induced functional improvement. They included a monkey parkinsonism rating scale, volitional responses to fruit presentations, and number of hand movements that appeared volitional. A dose of 56 microg/kg of pramipexole produced functional improvements on hand disability, and on a parkinsonian rating scale for monkeys in a dose-dependent manner from 32 to 100 microg/kg. These doses produced an increase in significant hand movements in the affected (contralateral) as well as in the normal (ipsilateral) hand to the side of the brain lesion compared with 5% dextrose in water vehicle control. With a dose of 100 microg/kg, the therapeutic effects of pramipexole on hand movements were less than with 56 microg/kg, due to side effects such as scratching.  相似文献

According to the recent analysis results of temporary ac overvoltage in the ac system connected with a frequency converter station, large-magnitude over-voltages were confirmed to occur under some special system conditions. Most of the station insulators currently used cannot withstand such overvoltages according to an evaluation based on the data obtained earlier. The necessity of tests to be done to evaluate such performance more accurately was recognized. Both power frequency and switching impulse overvoltage flashover tests were made on contaminated insulators by the method well simulating the natural wetting condition. Switching impulse flashover voltage with the waveshape having a long wavefront time of 2 ms can be well correlated with the flashover voltage characteristics of temporary ac overvoltage. Higher flashover voltage characteristics were obtained by a clean fog test method compared with those obtained by equivalent fog test method.  相似文献

Transmittance of external radiation from a CO2 laser through a boundary layer of decomposition products over a vertical sample surface is measured during the ignition period. The results indicate that there is significant absorption of the external radiation for PMMA, and a lesser but still not negligible amount, for red oak. An increase in gas phase temperature over surface temperature is observed over much of the ignition interval. Using the experimentally measured incident flux at the sample surface, surface temperature history was calculated from a model that included re-radiation and convection losses from the surface, endothermic decomposition and conduction into the material. The results confirm the significant effect of gas phase absorption on surface temperature. Steady-state-derived surface regression rate expression was used for PMMA in this model. The results raise questions about the validity of such data for the dynamic heating conditions during the ignition period. Further studies needed to understand the radiative ignition mechanism are identified.  相似文献

A solid oxide fuel cell using a thin ceria-based electrolyte film with a Ru-catalyzed anode was directly operated on hydrocarbons, including methane, ethane, and propane, at 600 °C. The role of the Ru catalyst in the anode reaction was to promote the reforming reaction of the unreacted hydrocarbons by the produced steam and CO2, which avoided interference from steam and CO2 in the gas-phase diffusion of the fuels. The resulting peak power density reached 750 mW cm−2 with dry methane, which was comparable to the peak power density of 769 mW cm−2 with wet (2.9 vol.% H2O) hydrogen. More important was the fact that the cell performance was maintained at a high level regardless of the change in the methane utilization from 12 to 46% but was significantly reduced by increasing the hydrogen utilization from 13 to 42%. While the anodic reaction of hydrogen was controlled by the slow gas diffusion, the anodic reaction of methane was not subject to the onset of such a gas-diffusion process.  相似文献
