Developmental changes in mouse placentae from the 6th to the 18th day of pregnancy were studied in vivo and in vitro. Placental volume increased from the 6th to the 18th day of pregnancy; however, the total number of cells per placenta reached a plateau on the 14th day. Decidual cells were predominant in the placenta on the 6th day. Placentae obtained from the 10th to the 18th day contained decidual cells, trophoblastic (labyrinth and spongiotrophoblast) cells, and trophoblast giant cells. Decidual cells increased in number from the 6th to the 10th but decreased on the 14th day, whereas trophoblastic cells increased linearly until the 14th day. Two types of placental cells were distinguished in vitro: small fibroblast-like cells and large flattened cells containing 2-3 nuclei. The large cells reacted to anti-desmin antibody, indicating their decidual character. The small cells reacting to anti-keratin antibody appeared to be trophoblastic cells. Decidual cells from all days of gestation were nonproliferative, regressing with time in culture. 17 beta-Estradiol (E, 10(-9) and 10(-8) M), progesterone (P, 10(-10), 10(-9), and 10(-8) M), and a combination of E and P (10(-9) M each) stimulated proliferation of the trophoblastic cells only from the 6th and the 10th days. Keoxifene (2 x 10(-7) M), but not tamoxifen, significantly inhibited the E-induced proliferation of the trophoblastic cells.(ABSTRACT TRUNCATED AT 250 WORDS)  相似文献

The steady gravity flow that is generated by a circular tunnel disturbing the hydrostatic state of a semi-infinite, homogeneous and isotropic aquifer is solved exactly. Many aspects of the flow are found in closed analytical forms such as the water inflow, pressure, leakage and recharging infiltration, which give a complete view of the aquifer in the drained steady state. It is found that the maximum value of the recharging infiltration does not exceed the hydraulic conductivity allowing stating a criteria for recharge intervention to ensure the stability of the aquifer. In addition to the main results, two aspects of the water inflow are treated. These are the necessary modifications that are to be considered in the case of an inclined water table and in the case of a lined tunnel that develops a constant internal pressure. It is also found that under an inclined water table a tunnel may cease to drain on its complete circumferential edge and a limiting condition is stated. Furthermore, the Muskat–Goodman and other water inflow predictions are compared to the exact gravity water inflow.  相似文献

The rolling contact fatigue of sprayed alumina ceramics with a nominal composition of Al2O3–2.3 mass% TiO2 was studied with a two-roller test machine under a pure rolling contact condition with oil lubricant. The influence of undercoating of sprayed Ni-based alloy on the rolling contact fatigue was investigated. The failure mode of all sprayed rollers was spalling caused by subsurface cracking. The undercoating did not contribute to the improvement of the rolling contact fatigue life. The elastic modulus of the alumina sprayed layer evaluated with the nano-indentation method was around 85 GPa. The depths of the observed subsurface cracks corresponded approximately to the depths where the orthogonal shear stress or the maximum shear stress calculated with two-dimensional FEM became maximum.  相似文献

Theoretical analyses are presented for the linear free vibration of a clamped-free cylindrical shell partially filled with an incompressible, inviscid liquid. For the vibration of the shell itself, the dynamic version of the Donnell equations was used and the problem was solved with the modified Galerkin procedure, taking the effect of the axisymmetric deformation due to the static liquid pressure into consideration. Concerning the vibration relevant to the liquid motion, the solution for the velocity potential was assumed as a sum of two sets of linear combinations of the suitable harmonic function, the unknown parameters of which were imposed to satisfy both boundary conditions along the wetted shell wall and the free liquid surface in a sense of appropriate series expansions. The procedure stated in the foregoing leads to a determinantal equation for the determination of the natural frequencies of the present shell-liquid system. To compare with the experimental results which will be stated in a companion paper,14 detailed numerical results will be presented in another companion paper13 on the free vibration characteristics of the two test cylinders partially filled with water.  相似文献

The magnesium composites containing Zr2(WO4)(PO4)2 (ZWP) particles with negative thermal expansion (NTE) were synthesized. Dense, unreacted Mg/ZWP composites were fabricated by extruding the two component powders. The coefficient of thermal expansion (CTE) and the mechanical properties of the composites were examined. The CTE of Mg/ZWP composites decreased with an increase in the amount of ZWP in the composites, though the effect was not significant probably because of the low bulk modulus of ZWP. Although there was a tension–compression asymmetry in the room temperature yield strength of Mg without ZWP, the difference reduced in the composites. The decreased asymmetry of yield behavior was suggested to be resulting from the tensile residual stress in the matrix produced during fabrication process because of the NTE of ZWP.  相似文献

The synthesis of a novel unimolecular reverse micelle, the hyperbranched d-glucan carbamate (3), was accomplished through the carbamation reaction of the hyperbranched d-glucan (1) with the N-carbonyl l-leucine ethyl ester (2) in pyridine at 100 °C. Polymer 3 was soluble in a large variety of organic solvents, such as methanol, acetone, chloroform, and ethyl acetate, and insoluble in water, which remarkably differed from the solubility of 1. The degree of carbamate substitution (DS) for 3 was controlled by the feed rate of 2, and the DS values were in the range of 46.0-93.7%. Polymer 3 possessed the encapsulation ability for water-soluble molecules, such as rose bengal, thymol blue, and alizarin yellow in chloroform, and the encapsulation ability depended on the hydrophilicity of 3 and the molecular size of the dye. The rose bengal (RB) encapsulated polymer (RB/3) showed a slow release from the RB/3 system into water at neutral pH, while the release rate was significantly accelerated by the hydrolysis of the hydrophobic polymer shell under basic conditions.  相似文献

In this paper, we introduce a way of modeling the differences between the calculated delays and the real delays, and propose an efficient path selection method for path delay testing based on the model. Path selection is done by judging which of two paths has the larger real delay by taking into account the ambiguity of calculated delay, caused by imprecise delay modeling as well as process disturbances. In order to make precise judgment under this ambiguity, the delays of only the unshared segments of the two paths are evaluated. This is because the shared segments are presumed to have the same real delays on both paths.The experiments used the delays of gates and interconnects, which were calculated from the layout data of ISCAS85 benchmark circuits using a real cell library. Experimental results show the method selects only about one percent of the paths selected by the most popular method.  相似文献
