A quantum version of the ultimatum game is studied. Both a restricted version with classical moves and the unitary version are considered. With entangled initial states, Nash equilibria in quantum games are in general different from those of classical games. Efficient sampling of coastal ocean processes, especially mechanisms such as upwelling and internal waves and their influence on primary production, is critical for understanding our changing oceans. Coupling robotic sampling with ocean models provides an effective approach to adaptively sample such features. We present methods that capitalize on information from ocean models and in situ measurements, using Gaussian process modeling and objective functions, allowing sampling efforts to be concentrated to regions with high scientific interest. We demonstrate how to combine and correlate marine data from autonomous underwater vehicles, model forecasts, remote sensing satellite, buoy, and ship‐based measurements, as a means to cross‐validate and improve ocean model accuracy, in addition to resolving upper water‐column interactions. Our work is focused on the west coast of Mid‐Norway where significant influx of Atlantic Water produces a rich and complex physical–biological coupling, which is hard to measure and characterize due to the harsh environmental conditions. Results from both simulation and full‐scale sea trials are presented.  相似文献

Anthropomorphizing graphical elements in multimedia learning materials improves learning outcomes. The reasons for enhanced learning are unclear. We extended a seminal anthropomorphism study in order to examine whether the effect of anthropomorphisms on learning outcomes, both immediate and delayed, is caused by the anthropomorphized elements' effects on attention distribution or by elevated positive affective–motivational states. The study had a partial 3 × 2 design (the materials' graphics: schematic vs. black‐and‐white anthropomorphisms vs. colourful anthropomorphisms × eye tracker: present vs. absent). The participants were university students (N = 181). Unexpectedly, we found no significant effect of anthropomorphisms on learning outcomes. Anthropomorphisms significantly affected attention distribution during initial fixations but not overall. Modest effect on enjoyment was found, but no such effect was detected as concerns flow and generalized positive affect. We also found that the eye tracker's mere presence had slight adverse effects on learners, but these effects did not compromise learning.  相似文献

Several models of computation have been used in software development approaches. The specialization of the existing models makes them suitable to specific application domains. Nevertheless, when there is no solution for applications at hand, heterogeneous models have been used. Within this context, this paper discusses a heterogeneous model called extended dataflow with a focus on component-based design. The emphasis lies on the dynamics of the components, including the way they interact with each other, their behavioral modeling, and flow of control. The main objective is to provide mechanisms for supporting both the ability of the run-time environment to safely dispatch tasks and the ability of components to adapt their interfaces. This paper focuses on embedded software. The purpose of the mechanisms we have been working on is to improve robustness while promoting component-based design. An adaptive application involving digital filters is used to illustrate our approach.  相似文献

Regression equations can be used for predicting indoor air temperature, relative humidity and energy consumption in an easier and more rapid way than building energy simulation tools. The independent variables, that is, the input data, are heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) power, outdoor temperature, relative humidity and total solar radiation. The present methodology for obtaining the regression equations is based on defining a couple of linear Multiple-Input/Single-Output (MISO) models, since two main outputs are involved, that is, indoor temperature and relative humidity. The methodology has been tested for the low- and high-thermal mass cases of the BESTest model (cases 600 and 900) and the output data is generated by using a building hygrothermal simulation tool. Validation procedures have shown very good agreement between the regression equations and the simulation tool for both winter and summer periods.  相似文献

The Water Framework Directive establishes that the river basin management plans must have a summary of the pressures and impacts of human activities, such as agriculture, on the chemical and quantitative status of groundwater bodies. In order to identify those areas where a potential impact from agricultural activities on groundwater bodies exists, but currently lacking groundwater monitoring data, a methodology was developed that combines the use of gross nitrogen balance values with the results of a specific vulnerability assessment index. A farm management efficiency parameter is added, to identify the factors that contribute to nitrogen use efficiency and to assess the near-future scenarios. This methodology allows the identification of significant pressures that may be responsible for a groundwater body failing good status where there is no representative monitoring network.  相似文献

Sardine (Sardina pilchardus) is a species that for its abundance assumes great importance in the Portuguese fishing sector. In order to contribute for a better utilisation of this species, the aim of this study was to investigate the effect of the pre‐treatment with soluble gas stabilisation (SGS) (100% CO2 at 2 bar, during 15 and 30 min) on the quality and shelf‐life of sardine fillets, packed in air (AP), vacuum (VP) and modified atmosphere (MAP: 5% O2/35% CO2/60% N2). During the chilled storage, the quality changes were evaluated by sensory evaluation, chemical and microbiological analysis. The total volatile basic nitrogen content remained almost constant, between 16 and 19 mg N/100 g muscle, during the storage period, for all samples. The TBARs values increased with storage time, for all batches and storage conditions. The application of SGS treatment to sardine fillets, resulted in a bacteriostatic effect, contributing to the improvement of the microbiological quality of fillets. Considering a sensory criteria, the shelf‐life of SGS pre‐treated sardine fillets was found to be 5 days in AP and MAP while in VP‐treated fillets a shelf‐life of 8 days was reported. At sensory rejection, sardine fillets presented a K‐value of 30% in AP and MAP batches and 40% in VP batch.  相似文献
