The rheological behavior and electrophoretic deposition (EPD) of ZnO nanopowder (nano-ZnO) in aqueous media have been described. A cationic polyelectrolyte (polyethylenimine, PEI) was used to disperse and modify the surfaces of the ZnO nanoparticles. The rheological properties of the ZnO aqueous suspension were investigated by measuring the viscosity versus the pH and amount of dispersant. The EPD processing was conducted via cathodic electrodeposition, using stable suspensions with low viscosity, and the depositional behavior was investigated. Bubble-free nano-ZnO deposits with uniform microstructures were successfully obtained, which was an indication of good sintering behavior. 相似文献

The current status of high electron mobility transistor (HEMT) technology at Fujitsu for high-performance VLSI is presented, focusing on device performance in the submicrometer dimensional range and the HEMT LSIs implemented in supercomputer systems. The HEMT is a very promising device for ultrahigh-speed LSI/VLSI applications because of the high-mobility GaAs/AlGaAs heterojunction structure. A 1.1 K-gate bus-driver logic LSI has been developed to demonstrate the high-speed data transfer in a high-speed parallel processing system at room temperature, operating at 10.92 GFLOPS. A cryogenic 3.3 K-gate random number generator logic LSI with maximum clock frequency of 1.6 GHz has also been developed to demonstrate the high-clock-rate system operations at liquid-nitrogen temperature. For VLSI level complexity, a HEMT 64-kb static RAM with 1.2-ns access operation and a 45 K-gate gate array with 35-ps logic delay have been developed operating at room temperature, demonstrating the high performance required for future high-speed computer systems 相似文献

Silkworms and spiders have evolved complex spinning apparatus thought to use highly controlled conditions to optimize protein folding and crystallization to provide a tough fiber. Accordingly, the structure and function of the natural spinning apparatus has been studied with great attention as an interesting piece of biological engineering with potential for mimicry in an industrial process. However it is still not well understood. Here we used Micro-Computerized Tomographic equipment (mCT) to visualize the three-dimensional structure of the spinning apparatus in Bombyx mori silkworms. Multidirectional tomograms obtained by X-ray radioscopy provided valuable information on the detailed arrangement of each muscle of the silk press. It is suggested that the duct in the silk press part plays a part as an extrusion die whose cross-sectional area can be controlled by muscles to optimize applied stresses in the partially gelled silk within its lumen. 相似文献

The effectiveness of extracranial-intracranial arterial bypass (EC-IC bypass) surgery for patients with hemodynamic compromise still remains controversial. In the present study, we evaluated the correlation between the pre- and post-surgical cerebral hemodynamics and long-term prognosis. 28 patients and a subsequent 21 patients (41 men, eight women: mean age 59.9 [S.D. 8.6] years) with reduced cerebrovascular reserve due to steno-occlusive disease of the cerebral major arteries formed the study groups 1 and 2, respectively. Measurement of the mean hemispheric cerebral blood flow (mCBF) and the cerebral vasoreactivity (%mCVR) with an intravenous acetazolamide injection were performed by a 133Xe inhalation method and SPECT. Patients were treated with EC-IC bypass surgery and measurement of mCBF and %mCVR were made again about one month after surgery. The patients were observed for a long period (mean 44.3 months). During the follow-up period, 6 patients experienced recurrent ischemic strokes. The annual incidence of recurrent ischemic stroke was 4.4%. The patients with significantly reduced pre- and post-surgical resting mCBF of the affected hemisphere were at significantly higher risk of recurrent ischemic stroke than the patients with normal mCBF (p < 0.01). Chromosome rearrangement of 14q32.33 has recurrently occurred with variable partner sites, including 11q13.3, 8q24.1, 18q21.3, and 6p21.1 in multiple myeloma (MM). To assess the actual incidence of 14q32.33 translocation and to elucidate its implication in the pathogenesis of MM, we studied 42 patients with MM, plasma cell leukemia, or plasmacytoma and 5 with monoclonal gammopathy with undetermined significance (MGUS) by G-banding and molecular cytogenetic methods. Using double-color fluorescence in situ hybridization (DCFISH) with 2 Ig heavy chain (IgH) gene probes, a yeast artificial chromosome (YAC) clone containing variable region, and a phage clone containing gamma constant region, 14q32.33 translocation was detected as split signals of the IgH gene in 31 patients with plasma cell malignancies and 3 with MGUS. In contrast, of 40 patients who were assessed by G-banding, 3 (7.5%) showed the 14q+ chromosome. DCFISH detected a split of the IgH gene on interphase nuclei in 34 (73.9%) of 46 patients analyzed, whereas on metaphase spreads, it was in 22 (51.2%) of 43 patients analyzed. Interphase DCFISH was particularly useful to detect 14q32.33 translocation in 17 (65.4%) of 26 patients with normal karyotypes. Donor sites were identified in 11 of 22 patients demonstrated as carrying 14q32.33 translocation by metaphase FISH. Chromosome t(11;14)(q13.3; q32.33) was detected in 5 patients, t(8;14)(q24.1;q32.33) in 2, t(14;18)(q32.33;q21.3) in 2, and t(7;14)(q32.1;q32.33) in 1. A complex 14q32.33 translocation involving 3q and 16q24 was detected in 1 patient. Myeloma cells with t(7;14) showed myelomonocytoid surface antigen. Because rearrangements of 14q32.33 were closely associated with translocation of proto-oncogenes into the IgH gene, our findings indicate that 14q32.33 translocation with various partner chromosomes is a critical event in the pathogenesis of MM and MGUS. 相似文献

Multielement analysis was performed on human milk collected on 5-9-d postpartum from 51 Japanese females using inductively coupled plasma (ICP) mass spectrometry (MS), ICP atomic emission spectrometry (ICP-AES) and fluorometry. Thirty-one elements were detected by these analytical methods in milk. Twelve elements (Na, Mg, P, S, K, Ca, Cu, Zn, Se, Sr, Rb, and Mo) were detected in all of the samples. Al, Cs, and Ba were the elements detected by ICP-MS in more than half of the samples. Multiple regression analysis extracted biological attributes of mother and infant, such as maternal stature, maternal wt, or infant's birth wt, as statistically significant factors contributing to the variation in elemental concentration in milk. However, the rates of contribution were small in all cases. It was concluded that the biological attributes of mother and infant examined in this study were not the major factors that contribute to elemental variation in human milk. 相似文献

Development of `information collection and delivery sensor basesystem' for large-scale power systems

The authors present a real-time database system capable of collecting and delivering a large amount of information accurately at a high speed and by a simple method. This system has a microprocessor unit (MPU) for each private communication line around the main memory and coordinates the independent parallel operation for a number of these MPUs with the main memory access operation, using a fixed cyclic scan method and having all the MPUs perform multi-operation. Many advantages can be expected when this method is adopted, especially for the monitoring and control of power systems. Degradation of the system can be avoided during an information rush due to accidents, and it can be easily extended when adding to or expanding the power facilities in the future.
