Calcination of diatomite is an expensive process frequently resulting in products with unpredictable structure. Alternatively, calcination in swirling flow is an energy‐saving option. Computational fluid dynamics modeling of an experimental calcination process unit is presented. Experimental results and systematic collection of process data were used to define boundary condition for steady‐state and transient simulation runs. The comparison of experimental and simulation results shows the complexity of the calcination process. The results can be used for further process optimization. 相似文献

Titania-supported palladium catalysts modified by tungsten have been tested for the total oxidation of propane. The addition of tungsten significantly enhanced the catalytic activity. Highly active catalysts were prepared containing a low loading of 0.5 wt.% palladium, and activity increased as the tungsten loading was increased up to 6 wt.%. Catalysts were characterised using a variety of techniques, including powder X-ray diffraction, laser Raman spectroscopy, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy, temperature-programmed reduction and aberration-corrected scanning transmission electron microscopy. Highly dispersed palladium nanoparticles were present on the catalyst with and without the addition of WOx. However, the addition of WOx slightly increases the average palladium particle size, and there was some evidence for the Pd forming epitaxial islands on the support in the tungsten-doped samples. Surface analysis identified a combination of Pd0 and Pd2+ on a Pd/TiO2 catalyst, whereas all of the Pd loading was found in the form of Pd2+ with the addition of tungsten into the catalysts. At low tungsten loadings, isolated monotungstate and some polytungstate species were highly dispersed over the titania support. The concentration of polytungstate species increased as the loading was increased, and it was also promoted by the presence of palladium. The coverage of the highly dispersed tungstate species over the titania also increased as the tungsten loading increased. Some tungstate species were also found to be associated with the palladium oxide particles, and there was an enrichment of oxidised tungsten species at the peripheral interface of the palladium oxide nanoparticles and the titania. Sub-ambient temperature–programmed reduction experiments identified an increased concentration of highly reactive species on catalysts with palladium and tungsten present together, and we propose that the new WOx-decorated interface between PdOx and TiO2 particles may be responsible for the enhanced catalytic activity in the co-impregnated catalysts. 相似文献

Antidotes against organophosphates often possess physicochemical properties that mitigate their passage across the blood–brain barrier. Cucurbit[7]urils may be successfully used as a drug delivery system for bisquaternary oximes and improve central nervous system targeting. The main aim of these studies was to elucidate the relationship between cucurbit[7]uril, oxime K027, atropine, and paraoxon to define potential risks or advantages of this delivery system in a complex in vivo system. For this reason, in silico (molecular docking combined with umbrella sampling simulation) and in vivo (UHPLC—pharmacokinetics, toxicokinetics; acetylcholinesterase reactivation and functional observatory battery) methods were used. Based on our results, cucurbit[7]urils affect multiple factors in organophosphates poisoning and its therapy by (i) scavenging paraoxon and preventing free fraction of this toxin from entering the brain, (ii) enhancing the availability of atropine in the central nervous system and by (iii) increasing oxime passage into the brain. In conclusion, using cucurbit[7]urils with oximes might positively impact the overall treatment effectiveness and the benefits can outweigh the potential risks. 相似文献

ABSTRACTThe hydrometallurgical separation of nickel from spent Raney Ni catalyst is based on the dissolution of separated nickel slurry in hot diluted sulphuric acid (H2SO4) with the addition of an appropriate oxidation agent. Consecutive diffusion dialysis, which was performed in a two-compartment countercurrent dialyzer with an anion-exchange membrane Neosepta-AFN at steady state, enables the removal of excess of H2SO4 from a solution of aluminium and nickel sulphate in H2SO4 and simple recycling of the isolated H2SO4. Next, the obtained dialysate was alkalized using excess of NaOH solution. Using this procedure, the Ni(OH)2 contaminated with only 8.9 wt.% Al was obtained. 相似文献

The cost‐effective production of liquid biofuels from microalgae is limited by several factors such as recovery of the lipid fractions as well as nutrients management. Flash hydrolysis, a rapid hydrothermal process, has been successfully applied to fractionate the microalgal biomass into solid biofuels intermediates while recovering a large amount of the nutrients in the aqueous phase (hydrolyzate) in a continuous flow reactor. The aim of the work is to enhance the quality of a high‐ash containing marine algae Nannochloropsis gaditana as biofuel feedstock while recycling nutrients directly for algae cultivation. Characterization of products demonstrated an increase in extractable lipids from 33.5 to 65.5 wt % (dry basis) while retaining the same fatty acid methyl ester profile, in addition to diminution of more than 70 wt % of ash compared to raw microalgae. ABSTRACT This paper explores the influence of temperature and pressure on drying kinetics of 2-(3-benzoylphenil propionic acid) ketoprofen, in a vacuum dryer on laboratory scale, Experimentally determined relations between moisture content and drying rate vs time, were approximated with an exponential model. Model parameters were correlated with drying conditions (temperature, pressure) and defined by functions of their potentions. From an energy balance of the process, a mathematical model for simulating dependence of sample temperature vs drying time, and moisture content of material, has been developed. Simulation of the drying kinetics and sample temperature, by use of those functional dependencies shows good agreement with experimental results. 相似文献

The compression, deformation and material behavior of moist spherical elastic‐plastic zeolite 4A granules under multiple stressing conditions at unique and random contacts were experimentally studied with the help of uniaxial diametrical compression tests. The force‐displacement curves were approximated and the coefficient of restitution was determined using appropriate mechanical models from literature. The phenomenon of cyclic hardening was studied and the critical number of cycles required to reach fracture was determined. Compression tests of deformation and fracture behavior of wheat grains were carried out at different loading rates that varied from 0.02 to 0.11 mm s–1. The contact model originally developed for the spherical particles was adapted to describe the deformation and fracture behavior of elliptical wheat grains. Hydrogel silver nanocomposites have been used in applications with excellent antibacterial performance. Acrylic acid (AA)/itaconic acid (IA) hydrogels silver nanocomposites were prepared and applied as a coating on a textile substrate. Hydrogel matrices were synthesized first by the polymerization of an AA/IA aqueous (80/20 v/v) solution and mixed with 2‐2‐azobis(2‐methylpropionamide) diclorohydrate and N,N′‐methylene bisacrylamide until the hydrogel was formed. Silver nanoparticles were generated throughout the hydrogel networks with an in situ method via the incorporation of the silver ions and subsequent reduction with sodium borohydride. Cotton (C) and cotton/polyester (CP) textile fibers were then coated with these hydrogel silver nanocomposites. The influence of these nanocomposite hydrogels on the properties of the textile fiber were investigated by infrared spectroscopy (attenuated total reflectance), scanning electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive X‐ray spectroscopy, and antibacterial tests against Pseudomona aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus. The better conditions, in which no serious aggregation of the silver nanoparticles occurred, were determined. Magnetic particle mediated transport in combination with nanomaterial based drug carrier has a great potential for targeted cancer therapy. In this study, doxorubicin encapsulation into the apoferritin and its conjugation with magnetic particles was investigated by capillary electrophoresis with laser-induced fluorescence detection (CE-LIF). The quantification of encapsulated doxorubicin was performed by fluorescence spectroscopy and compared to CE-LIF. Moreover, the significant enhancement of the doxorubicin signal was observed by addition of methanol into the sample solution. 相似文献
