[Correction Notice: An erratum for this article was reported in Vol 92(1) of Journal of Applied Psychology (see record 2006-23339-006). The first sentence in the first paragraph on page 660 is incorrect. The corrected sentence should read as follows: "The patterns of all three interactions support our theoretical explanation that (a) a victim of lower status than the offender pursues revenge as the only means of achieving justice when procedural justice climate is low and (b) victims with high absolute status refrain from revenge by attempting forgiveness and reconciliation when procedural justice climate is high because the organization can be counted on to mete out justice."] A field study and an experimental study examined relationships among organizational variables and various responses of victims to perceived wrongdoing. Both studies showed that procedural justice climate moderates the effect of organizational variables on the victim's revenge, forgiveness, reconciliation, or avoidance behaviors. In Study 1, a field study, absolute hierarchical status enhanced forgiveness and reconciliation, but only when perceptions of procedural justice climate were high; relative hierarchical status increased revenge, but only when perceptions of procedural justice climate were low. In Study 2, a laboratory experiment, victims were less likely to endorse vengeance or avoidance depending on the type of wrongdoing, but only when perceptions of procedural justice climate were high. The relations of motivational variables to self-reported cheating behaviors and beliefs in science were examined in a sample of early adolescents. It was hypothesized that cheating and beliefs in the acceptability of cheating would be more likely when students perceived an emphasis on performance and extrinsic incentives rather than on mastery and improvement. Results indicated that students who reported cheating in science perceived their classrooms as being extrinsically focused and perceived their schools as being focused on performance and ability. Students who believed in the acceptability of cheating also reported personal extrinsic goals and a perceived emphasis on extrinsic factors in class. Students who reported cheating also worried about school. The reported use of deep cognitive strategies was related negatively and the use of self-handicapping strategies was related positively to cheating beliefs and behaviors. Lithium titanate spinel (Li4Ti5O12, or LTS) is receiving consideration as a nanopowder anode material for use in lithium-ion batteries. LTS has more positive working potential than traditional graphite anodes, and it does not react with electrolyte components. However, the main drawback of LTS powder is its poor interparticle electronic conductance that reduces the high-rate ability of the electrode. To improve this we have coated the surface of the LTS powder with a titanium nitride layer by atomic layer deposition (ALD). In situ infrared spectroscopy studies were conducted to confirm the attachment of the titanium precursor. The nitrogen content of films was measured by total nitrogen content testing. Transmission electron microscopy (TEM) micrographs confirmed the formation of a thin titanium nitride film around LTS particles by ALD. Finally, lithium cells with electrodes made of original and modified LTS nanopowders were assembled and tested.  相似文献

We report a cost effective and facile way to synthesize flexible, uniform, and large area surface enhanced Raman scattering (SERS) substrates using an oblique angle deposition (OAD) technique. The flexible SERS substrates consist of 1 μm long, tilted silver nanocolumnar films deposited on flexible polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS) and polyethylene terephthalate (PET) sheets using OAD. The SERS enhancement activity of these flexible substrates was determined using 10(-5) M trans-1,2-bis(4-pyridyl) ethylene (BPE) Raman probe molecules. The in situ SERS measurements on these flexible substrates under mechanical (tensile/bending) strain conditions were performed. Our results show that flexible SERS substrates can withstand a tensile strain (ε) value as high as 30% without losing SERS performance, whereas the similar bending strain decreases the SERS performance by about 13%. A cyclic tensile loading test on flexible PDMS SERS substrates at a pre-specified tensile strain (ε) value of 10% shows that the SERS intensity remains almost constant for more than 100 cycles. These disposable and flexible SERS substrates can be integrated with biological substances and offer a novel and practical method to facilitate biosensing applications.  相似文献

Wait (1951, 1953, 1967) examined electromagnetic (EM) wave propagation in many situations of interest to mining production, including propagation in tunnels, propagation along extended conductors such as cables and drill stems, and propagation in coal seams. This work remains relevant, both to the mining engineer interested in the EM environment of an operating mine and to the electrical engineer interested in verifying new computational techniques and in extending the scope of EM technology in mining production. A new approach to the analysis of random errors in aperture antennas   总被引:3,自引:0,他引:3  
A closed form vector expression has been derived for the mean power pattern radiated from an aperture with random perturbations. The expression is in terms of the Fourier transforms of three unrestricted functions: 1) the vector electric field of the unperturbed aperture, 2) the scattering dyadic of one ofNdefects, and 3) the probability density function of the position of a defect. These functions can be represented by measurement data as well as by simple analytical functions. In particular, the scattering matrix of an actual physical defect can be measured and used in the model. The derivation was made possible by the fact that the aperture mean and correlation functions take the form of convolution integrals.  相似文献

A Dirofilaria immitis cDNA clone encoding a nucleic acid homolog of thioredoxin peroxidase (nDiTPx) was isolated from a fourth-stage larval cDNA library, using serum from dogs vaccinated by chemotherapeutically-abbreviated D. immitis larval infections. The protein encoded by nDiTPx had a predicted molecular mass of 22.1 kDa and the deduced amino acid sequence was homologous to thioredoxin peroxidase-like sequences described in other filarial nematodes, yeast, bacteria and mammals. As is true for other members of this peroxiredoxin family, the nDiTPx-encoded protein had the conserved cysteine near the amino terminus, considered to be essential for enzyme activity. nDiTPx was expressed in E. coli and the resulting recombinant fusion protein was shown to have thioredoxin peroxidase (TPx) activity, by its ability to protect DNA from oxidative-nicking in a metal-catalyzed oxidation system. A polyclonal antibody to the DiTPx fusion protein detected a 22-kDa native protein in D. immitis larval and adult parasite extracts.  相似文献
