The use of a thick quantum well enables coherence-collapse operation of a Bragg grating stabilised laser diode over 110/spl deg/C temperature range, yielding 975 nm wavelength emission with >40 dB sidemode suppression ratio, <1% power variation, and fibre-output power as high as 293 mW at 15/spl deg/C and 168 mW at 125/spl deg/C.  相似文献

The paper examines the performance of Modified Manchester (MM) modulation scheme over wavelength division multiplexing (WDM) in high-speed optical communication links. The MM as a new modulation technique has a narrow spectral width compared to conventional Manchester coding, which allows its implementation in WDM systems beneficial. In this study, the performance characteristics of MM and conventional Manchester modulation formats are assessed in WDM system at 10 Gb/s bitrate for each channel, for the least allowable channel spacing as well as tolerance to chromatic dispersion (CD). It is revealed from the results of simulation that MM performs meaningfully well in comparison with conventional Manchester in terms of tolerance against narrow optical filtering, spectral efficiency, which is improved by 32% and CD tolerance, which is improved by +100 ps/nm. Sixteen wavelength channels (16 × 10 Gb/s) are modulated to provide 160 Gb/s data capacity, which was transmitted successfully over 224 km standard single mode fibre (SSMF) using MM while the conventional Manchester only covered about 157 km.  相似文献

Guaranteeing end-to-end data security in wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is important and has drawn much attention of researchers over past years. Because an attacker may take control of compromised sensor nodes to inject bogus reports into WSNs, enhancing data authenticity becomes a necessary issue in WSNs. Unlike PCREF (Yang et al. in IEEE Trans Comput 64(1):4–18, 2015) (LEDS, Ren et al. in IEEE Trans Mobile Comput 7(5):585–598, 2008), digital signature rather than message authentication polynomials (message authentication codes) is adopted by our protocol in en-route filtering. Keeping the advantages of clusters in PCREF and overcoming the drawbacks in LEDS, an enhanced and efficient cluster-based security protocol is proposed in this paper. The proposed protocol can guarantee end-to-end data authentication with the aid of digital signature and exhibits its effectiveness and efficiency through security analysis and performance analysis. Our analytical results show that the proposed protocol significantly outperforms the closely related protocols in the literature in term of security strength and protocol overhead.  相似文献

In this paper, high-pass (HP) $\Updelta\Upsigma$ modulators are compared against the traditional low-pass (LP) $\Updelta\Upsigma$ modulators. The objective of this comparison is to point out the advantages and drawbacks of the two modulators thereby allowing choosing the most suited for a given application. The metrics of comparison are the noise floor, power consumption, area and the effect of the non-idealities of all the basic blocks (i.e., operational transconductance amplifier, quantizer, switches and clocks). The comparative analysis shows that HP modulators are more suited for narrow band applications because of their immunity against DC-offset and flicker noise. For medium and wide band applications, LP modulators are preferred because of their higher robustness against switch imperfections and clock jitter.  相似文献

Estimation schemes of Radio Frequency IDentification (RFID) tag set cardinality are studied in this paper using Maximum Likelihood (ML) approach. We consider the estimation problem under the model of multiple independent reader sessions with detection errors due to unreliable radio communication links and/or collisions. In every reader session, both the detection error probability and the total number of tags are estimated. In particular, after the $R$ -th reader session, the number of tags detected in $j$ ( $j=1,2,...,R$ ) reader sessions out of $R$ sessions is updated, which we call observed evidence. Then, in order to maximize the likelihood function of the number of tags and the detection error probability given the observed evidences, we propose three different estimation methods depending on how to treat the discrete nature of the tag set cardinality. The performance of the proposed methods is evaluated under different system parameters and compared with that of the conventional method via computer simulations assuming flat Rayleigh fading environments and framed-slotted ALOHA based protocol.  相似文献

We have investigated the switching behavior of as-deposited CrO x and post-annealed CrO y films by use of a variety of electrodes (top electrode Ag, Ti; bottom electrode Pt, fluorine tin oxide (FTO)). Resistance switching is highly dependent on electrode material and post-annealing treatment. Among Pt devices, IV hysteresis was observed for the Ag/CrO x /Pt device only; no resistance switching was observed for Ag/CrO y /Pt, Ti/CrO x /Pt, and Ti/CrO y /Pt devices. Among FTO devices, IV hysteresis was observed for the Ag/CrO x /FTO device whereas IV hysteresis with the opposite switching direction was observed for Ag/CrO y /FTO, Ti/CrO x /FTO, and Ti/CrO y /FTO devices. The direction of switching depends not only on electrode material but also on post-annealing treatment, which affects the density of grain boundaries. Thus, the density of grain boundaries determines the type of charge carrier involved in the switching process. For as-deposited CrO x films with a high density of grain boundaries Ag filament paths mediated by electrochemical redox reaction were observed, irrespective of bottom electrode material (Pt or FTO). Post-annealed CrO y films with a low density of grain boundaries suppressed electrochemical redox reaction in the Ag/CrO y /Pt device but promoted short-range movement of O2? ions through the bottom interface, resulting in resistance switching in the Ag/CrO y /FTO device. Electrochemical redox reaction-controlled resistance switching occurred solely in oxides with a high density of grain boundaries or dislocations.  相似文献

Electro-ionic soft actuators, capable of continuous deformations replacing non-compliant rigid mechanical components, attract increasing interest in the field of next-generation metaverse interfaces and soft robotics. Here, a novel MXene (Ti3C2Tx) electrode anchoring manganese-based 1,3,5-benzenetricarboxylate metal-organic framework (MnBTC) for ultrastable electro-ionic artificial muscles is reported. By a facile supramolecular self-assembly, the Ti3C2Tx-MnBTC hybrid nanoarchitecture forms coordinate bond, hydrogen bond, and hydrophilic interaction with the conducting polymer of poly(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene) polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS), resulting in a mechanically flexible and electro-ionically active electrode. The superior electrical and electrochemical performances of the electrode stem from the synergistic effects between intrinsically hierarchical nanoarchitecture of MnBTC and rapid electron transport behavior of Mxene, leading to fast diffusion and accommodation of ions in the ion-exchangeable membrane. The developed artificial muscle based on Ti3C2Tx-MnBTC is found to exhibit high bending displacement (12.5 mm) and ultrafast response time (0.77 s) under a low driving voltage (0.5 V), along with wide frequency response (0.1–10 Hz) and exceptional stability (98% retention at 43,200 s) without any distortion of actuation performance. Furthermore, the designed electro-active artificial muscle is successfully used to demonstrate mimicry of eye motions including eyelid blinking and eyeball movement in a doll.  相似文献

Sintered nanoscale silver is a promising interconnection material for semiconductor devices because it provides improved joint properties compared with solder and wire bonds. It has higher electrical and thermal conductivity and is capable of higher operating temperature. Joints with die shear strength above 20 MPa can be formed at around 250°C even without applied pressure. Sintered silver joints were also found to be an order of magnitude more reliable than solder joints and wire bonds. In this work, the electromigration behavior of sintered nanosilver material under conditions of high applied current density and elevated temperature was investigated. Thin strips of sintered nanosilver formed on ceramic substrates were tested under current densities exceeding 150 kA/cm2 at temperatures of 150°C and above. Results based on the percentage change in sample resistance showed that the sintered silver lasted at least ten times longer than aluminum wire bonds. Examination of failed strips revealed that hairline cracks formed during sintering were the main cause of failure. Otherwise, defect-free samples exhibited a 10-fold increase in lifetime over wire bonds under similar conditions.  相似文献

A number of multi-billion dollar businesses (for example Dell, Amazon, Expedia and Google) have been built on top of Web portals that provide customers with a differentiating experience. How do these portals achieve this, and what lessons can BT learn? In this paper we describe technology that supports the development of portals which extend and improve the customer’s experience of interacting with a company by breaking away from the direct manipulation metaphor. We illustrate the approach with a case study and describe the results of the work we have done in terms of the limitations and capabilities of the approach developed.  相似文献

A low-power low-voltage analog signal processing circuit has been designed, fabricated, and tested. The circuit is capable of processing an analog sensor current and producing an ASK modulated digital signal with modulating signal frequency proportional to the sensor current level. An on-chip regulator has been included to stabilize the supply voltage received from an external RF power source. The circuit can operate with a power supply as low as 1 V and consumes only about 20 μW of power, which is therefore very suitable for implantable biomedical applications. The whole chip was laid out and fabricated in a 0.35 μm bulk CMOS technology. Experimental results show good agreement with the simulation results.  相似文献
