The validity of the mobility model used to evaluate a cellular network determines the validity of the evaluation. In the literature, unrealistic assumptions on mobility are exercised for the sake of simplicity. In this paper, we present a novel mobility model which is realistic in the sense that it captures the moving‐in‐groups, conscious traveling and inertial behaviours of the subscribers while respecting the non‐pass‐through feature of structures like households and preserving the autonomy of the subscribers. The mobility and call patterns of the subscribers are determined according to the locus of the subscriber over a real map. Thus, our model allows the subscribers to leave home or arrive home, walk or drive in the streets, get on the highways at specific entry points together with numerous hot and blind spots in the terrain, like city centers and lakes. The call pattern of a subscriber is affected by the type of structure he is in. The model can work on real maps to simulate the mobility patterns in real life. We have evaluated the proposed model against the well‐known way point mobility model. We also analyzed the effect of the mobility model on systems with and without guard channels. Cognitive radio heralds the next step in the evolution of wireless communications. In this paper, an analytical model for infrastructure based cognitive radio systems is proposed, and its performance is evaluated under bursty traffic scenarios in a multiple cell environment. Performance metrics like probabilities of dropping and blocking for primary and secondary users as well as forced termination and forced frequency handoff for secondary users are investigated, and the analytical model is verified with simulations. In addition to the analytical model, a new resource planning method is proposed to compensate for uneven traffic load distribution. The proposed method considers offered traffic, hop count to the heavily loaded cell, and velocity of mobile users during resource planning and performs better in terms of probability of blocking, dropping, and forced termination. The proposed method is promising in balancing the system performance measures, yet there is room for further improvement for finding a closed formula for the proposed analytical model. Hydraulic structures have an impact on the concentration of dissolved oxygen in a river system, even though the water is in contact with the structure for only a short period of time. The same oxygen transfer that would normally occur over several kilometres in a river can occur at a single hydraulic structure, because the flow over a structure is typically highly turbulent, resulting in increased interfacial renewal. Plunging overfall jets from weirs are a good example of this fact, and the aeration properties of such structures have been studied widely in the laboratory and field over a number of years. This technical note (a) describes triangular-notch weirs having a different weir angle α and how they affect aeration performance, and (b) demonstrates that aeration efficiency decreases with increasing weir angle.  相似文献

Viability of a probiotic and carotenoid‐producing bacterium, Bacillus indicus HU36 in vegetative form, along with the yoghurt cultures in set‐type, recombined nonfat yoghurt and its effects on quality were determined during the storage at 4 °C. The number of B. indicus HU36 cells in yoghurt remained about 5 log cfu/mL after 14 days, but decreased to 3.5 log after 21 days. The bacterium resulted in increased yellowness, but did not affect the rheological properties of the yoghurt. Sensorial properties of the yoghurt were acceptable compared to a commercial probiotic yoghurt. B. indicus HU36 can thus be used as a probiotic culture in yoghurt production.  相似文献

Liquid exfoliated, atomically thin semiconducting transition metal dichalcogenides (TMDs), as inorganic equivalents of graphene, have attracted great interest due to their distinctive physical, optoelectronic, and chemical properties. Functionalization of 2D TMDs brings new prospects for applications in optoelectronics, quantum technologies, catalysis, and medicine. In this report, dual functionalization of 2D semiconducting 2H‐MoS2 nanosheets through simultaneous incorporation of magnetic and luminescent properties is demonstrated. A facile method is proposed for tuning the properties of the TDM semiconductors and accessing multimodal platforms, consisting in covalent grafting of lanthanide complexes onto the surface of 2D TMDs. Dual functionalization of liquid‐exfoliated MoS2 nanosheets is demonstrated simultaneously with both europium (III) and gadolinium (III) complexes to form a colloidally stable luminescent (with millisecond lifetimes) and paramagnetic MoS2‐based nanohybrid material. This work is the first example of transition metal dichalcogenide nanosheets functionalized with preformed lanthanide complexes. These findings open new prospects for covalent functionalization of TMDs with molecular species bearing specific functionalities as a means to tune the optoelectronic properties of the semiconductors, in order to create advanced materials and devices with a wide range of functionalities.  相似文献
