To evaluate the possibility for development of apple wine containing medicinal herbs, we have prepared ‘Fuji’ apple (Malus domestica) wines containing pine (Pinus densiflora Siebold et Zuccarini) needle and hwanggi (Radix Astragali)/mistletoe (Viscum album). Normal apple wine was fermented rapidly, but after 40 days fermentation/maturation, the final ethanol content, pH, total acidity, and contents of sugar/organic acid showed similar levels in 3 kinds of apple wines. In other hands, the total phenols content, antocyanins content, and brightness were higher in apple-pine wine and apple-herb wine than in normal apple wine. Apple-herb wine had higher values in total phenol contents, brightness, free amino acid contents, and quenching activity for ABTS free radicals than normal apple wine, and had similar sensory evaluation values with normal apple wine. Taken together, it is supposed that hwanggi and mistletoe might provide functional components to normal apple wine and might be applied to development of functional apple wines.  相似文献

Starting from the system of linearized kinetic equations, the exact expressions for the spin and mass diffusion coefficients and thermal diffusion ratio in quantum mixtures of helium isotopes with any degree of degeneration is obtained. From the general expression the various limiting expressions have been obtained, which are determined by various relations between collision rates of quasiparticles. The results of the calculations are compared with available experimental data. It is shown that in the low-temperature region, where an impuriton gas is one-component, the relaxation of concentration of 3 He in superfluid 3 He– 4 He mixtures is determined by the acoustic and dissipative collective modes with an effective diffusion coefficient. From the general relation, the expression for a spin diffusion coefficient in solid 3 He– 4 He quantum mixtures is derived. The comparison of the results obtained with the experimental data makes it possible to find a numerical value for the width of the impuriton energy zone.  相似文献

Hydrogels are recognized as one of the most promising materials for e-skin devices because of their unique applicable functionalities such as flexibility, stretchability, biocompatibility, and conductivity. Beyond the excellent sensing functionalities, the e-skin devices further need to secure a target-oriented 3D structure to be applied onto various body parts having complex 3D shapes. However, most e-skin devices are still fabricated in simple 2D film-type devices, and it is an intriguing issue to fabricate complex 3D e-skin devices resembling target body parts via 3D printing. Here, a material design guideline is provided to prepare multifunctional hydrogels and their target-oriented 3D structures based on extrusion-based 3D printing. The material design parameters to realize target-oriented 3D structures via 3D printing are systematically derived from the correlation between material design of hydrogels and their gelation characteristics, rheological properties, and 3D printing processability for extrusion-based 3D printing. Based on the suggested material design window, ion conductive self-healable hydrogels are designed and successfully applied to extrusion-based 3D printing to realize various 3D shapes.  相似文献

In this paper, we describe a method for encapsulation of biomaterials in hydrogel beads using a microfluidic droplet-merging channel. We devised a double T-junction in a microfluidic channel for alternate injection of aqueous fluids inside a droplet unit carried within immiscible oil. With this device, hydrogel beads with diameter <100 μm are produced, and various solutions containing cells, proteins and reagents for gelation could merge with the gel droplets with high efficiency in the broad range of flow rates. Mixing of reagents and reactions inside the hydrogel beads are continuously observed in a microchannel through a microscope. By enabling serial injection of each liquid with the dispersed gel droplets after they are produced from the oil-focusing channel, the device simplifies the sample preparation process, and gel-bead fabrication can be coupled with further assay continuously in a single channel. Instantaneous reactions of enzyme inside hydrogel and in-situ formation of cell-containing beads with high viability are demonstrated in this report.  相似文献

Ovarian cancer is the fifth leading cause of cancer, followed by front line is mostly platinum agents and PARP inhibitors, and very limited option in later lines. Therefore, there is a need for alternative therapeutic options. Nectin-2, which is overexpressed in ovarian cancer, is a known immune checkpoint that deregulates immune cell function. In this study, we generated a novel anti-nectin-2 antibody (chimeric 12G1, c12G1), and further characterized it using epitope mapping, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay, surface plasmon resonance, fluorescence-activated cell sorting, and internalization assays. The c12G1 antibody specifically bound to the C2 domain of human nectin-2 with high affinity (KD = 2.90 × 10−10 M), but not to mouse nectin-2. We then generated an antibody-drug conjugate comprising the c12G1 antibody conjugated to DM1 and investigated its cytotoxic effects against cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. c12G1-DM1 induced cell cycle arrest at the mitotic phase in nectin-2-positive ovarian cancer cells, but not in nectin-2-negative cancer cells. c12G1-DM1 induced ~100-fold cytotoxicity in ovarian cancer cells, with an IC50 in the range of 0.1 nM~7.4 nM, compared to normal IgG-DM1. In addition, c12G1-DM1 showed ~91% tumor growth inhibition in mouse xenograft models transplanted with OV-90 cells. These results suggest that c12G1-DM1 could be used as a potential therapeutic agent against nectin-2-positive ovarian cancers.  相似文献

The high-temperature in vitrification process of radioactive wastes could cause radioactive technetium (99Tc) in secondary liquid wastes to become volatile. Solidified cementitious waste forms at low temperature were developed to immobilize radioactive secondary waste. This research focuses on the characterization of a cementitious waste form called Cast Stone. Properties including compressive strength, surface area, phase composition, and technetium leaching were measured. The results indicate that technetium diffusivity is affected by simulant type. Additionally, ettringite and AFm (Al2O3–Fe2O3–mono) main crystalline phases were formed during hydration. The Cast Stone waste form passed the qualification requirements for a secondary waste form, which are compressive strength of 3.45 MPa and technetium diffusivity of 10?9 cm2/s. Cast Stone was found to be a good candidate for immobilizing secondary waste streams.  相似文献

Low concentrations of ADP are shown to increase the rate of phosphoenzyme formation of E. coli succinyl-coenzyme A (CoA) synthetase (SCS) without altering the fraction of phosphorylated enzyme. This is true when either ATP or succinyl-CoA and Pi are used to phosphorylate the enzyme. The stimulatory effect of ADP is not altered by sample dilution, is retained upon partial purification of the enzyme, and reflects the binding of ADP to a site other than the catalytic site. GDP also alters the phosphorylation of the E. coli SCS but does so primarily by enhancing the level of the phosphoenzyme and only when ATP is used as the phosphate donor. GDP appears to function by neutralizing the action of a specific inhibitory protein. This inhibitor of SCS allows for interconversion of succinate and succinyl-CoA in a manner dissociated from changes in ATP-ADP metabolism. These previously unidentified and varied mechanisms by which SCS is regulated focus attention on this enzyme as an important control point in determining the cell's potential to meet its metabolic demands.  相似文献
