The scope for energy conservation in a ceramic factory was studied. It was found that the sensible heat of the flue gas from kilns could be used to heat the casting shop. A pebble bed waste heat regenerator was chosen to collect the sensible heat of the flue gas. Experiments were performed on a pilot plant scale pebble bed to study its characteristics using a flue gas stream whose temperature and composition were similar to the factory conditions. The results of the heating cycle showed that 14 500 kcal h−1 of heat can be collected from flue gas in a 0·126 m3 bed. This information was used to design a complete retrofit system. Financial analysis of the proposed project showed that it has a pay-back period of 15 months. © 1997 by John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

In the current study, the reversed-phased high-pressure liquid chromatography (RP-HPLC) method was proposed for the estimation of lignocaine hydrochloride (LIG), hydrocortisone (HYD) and Ketoprofen (KET) according to International Conference for Harmonization (ICH) Q2 R1 guidelines, in a gel formulation. The chromatographic evaluation was executed using Shimadzu RP-HPLC, equipped with a C8 column and detected using UV at 254 nm wavelength, using acetonitrile and buffer (50:50) as a mobile phase and diluent, at flow rate 1 mL/min and n injection volume of 20 μL. The retention time for LIG, HYD, and KET were 1.54, 2.57, and 5.78 min, correspondingly. The resultant values of analytical recovery demonstrate accuracy and precision of the method and was found specific in identification of the drugs from dosage form and marketed products. The limit of detection (LOD) for LIG, HYD, and KET were calculated to be 0.563, 0.611, and 0.669 ppm, while the limit of quantification (LOQ) was estimated almost at 1.690, 1.833, and 0.223 ppm, respectively. The AGREE software was utilized to evaluate the greenness score of the proposed method, and it was found greener in score (0.76). This study concluded that the proposed method was simple, accurate, precise, robust, economical, reproducible, and suitable for the estimation of drugs in transdermal gels.  相似文献

Biodiesel and oxyhydrogen (HHO) gas have shown promising results in improving engine performance and emissions. In this work, the effects of HHO gas and 5% biodiesel blends (B5) and their combined use in a 315 cc diesel engine have been analyzed. Biodiesel is produced by base catalyzed transesterification and cleaned by emulsification. Its calculated cetane index (CCI) was 61.4. HHO gas is produced from electrolysis of concentrated potassium hydroxide solution. The use of 5% biodiesel blend resulted in a significant rise of 9.4% in the brake thermal efficiency (BTE) and a maximum reduction of 8.19% in the brake specific fuel consumption (BSFC). HHO enrichment of diesel and biodiesel at 2.81 L/min through the intake manifold improved the torque and power by an average of over 3%. HHO addition also improved the BTE of diesel by a maximum of 3.67%. The combination of high CCI biodiesel fuel and HHO creates a mixture that has shortened the ignition delay (ID) to the point that adverse effects were observed due to the premature combustion as shown by the average decrease in the BTE of 2.97% compared to B5. Thus, B5, on its own, is found to be the optimum fuel under these conditions.  相似文献

Current research work was conducted to synthesize Thiol modified arabinoxylan and its application in fabrication of hydrogel. Thioglycolic acid was esterified with arabinoxylan to prepare Thiolatedarabinoxylan. Appearance of peak at 2533.34?cm?1 in FTIR and thiol content showed successful thiolation. The pH-dependent Thiolatedarabinoxylan/acrylic acid (TAX/AA) hydrogels of perindopril erbumine were prepared via free-radical co-polymerization. Perindopril erbumine (PE) was employed as model drug. Different batches with different feed ratio of TAX, AA, and MBA were prepared and their influence on swelling, solvent penetration, and consequent drug release was investigated. Swelling coefficients increased with increase in pH. TAX/AA hydrogels were characterized by Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR), Thermal Analysis (TA), X-Ray diffraction (XRD), and scanning electron microscope (SEM). Dissolution studies were performed at pH 1.2 and 7.4 in which drug release showed direct correlation with TAX and AA ratio. In vivo studies showed that Cmax of TAX-co-AA based hydrogel was 81.57?±?0.35?ng/ml which was maintained for a longer time after its administration. All the results of in vivo studies were significant and TAX-co-AA based hydrogel enhances the bioavailability of perindopril erbumine.  相似文献
