Conclusions The process of drying cellulose triacetate in a vibrating bed has been studied.For final drying of cellulose triacetate before solution, it is recommended to use an industrial specimen of a unit with a vibrating bed having a capacity of 2700 kg/h.This assembly can be used to dry other fibre-forming disperse polymeric materials containing strongly bound moisture.Translated from Khimicheskie Volokna, No. 3, pp. 49–51, May–June, 1984.     

Denial in the aftermath of traumatic head injury: Its manifestations, measurement, and treatment.

Reviews available research on the meaning and measurement of denial and strategies for treating maladaptive denial, with special reference to its occurrence in traumatic head injuries. Questionnaire or interview measures, rather than behavioral indices, are used to assess denial. Denial may be manifested with respect to past, present, or future status; and it may have both positive and negative consequences for coping, motivation, and rehabilitation. Where denial limits a patient's functioning or recovery, several treatment strategies are possible. Intervention should involve a balance between supportive and confrontational elements, with a focus on behaviors rather than verbalizations. Computer feedback, videotaping, focused group therapy, and supervised activities are possible interventions for confronting maladaptive forms of denial. Effect of temperature and cyclic heating on the structure and strength of glass textolite

The article established the regularities of change of the physicomechanical characteristics and strength of glass textolites in single and repeated thermal loading. It shows that under multiple loading the intense loss of strength of the investigated materials is due to increased porosity on account of the large number of microcracks appearing in the structure. A correlation is obtained between the elastic and strength characteristics and porosity in dependence on the temperature of multiple heating which in the first approximation is described by a polynomial of second degree with respect to temperature, multiplied by the reciprocal of porosity.Translated from Problemy Prochnosti, No. 6, pp. 53–58, June, 1991.
