A theoretical impedance function is deduced for a proposed mechanism of passive film formation of steel in contact with alkaline aqueous media involving two reaction intermediates: mixed oxide with similar stoichiometry to magnetite and Fe(III)-oxides. The reduction reaction of dissolved oxygen is considered as the only cathodic reaction compensating the anodic current induced by the formation of iron oxides at open circuit potential. The iron dissolution takes place through a chemical dissolution of ferric oxide. A two-layered passive film with 3D structure is considered. A satisfactory agreement between the digital simulations on the basis of the theoretical impedance function and experimental spectra validates the proposed model. 相似文献

Sulfonic-acid-functionalized mesostructured silicas have demonstrated an excellent catalytic behavior in the etherification of glycerol with isobutylene to yield tert-butylated derivates. Di-tert-butylglycerols (DTBG) and tri-tert-butylglycerol (TTBG) have shown to be valuable fuel additives leading to decreases in the emission of particulate matter, hydrocarbons, carbon monoxide and unregulated aldehydes. Likewise, said ethers can also act as cold flow improvers for use in biodiesel, reducing also its viscosity. The activities and selectivities achieved over sulfonic acid-functionalized mesostructured silicas are comparable or even superior to those displayed by widely used macroporous commercial acid resins. Under optimized reaction conditions, these mesostructured catalysts yield a complete glycerol conversion with a combined selectivity towards DTBG and TTBG up to ca. 90%. Furthermore, no formation of undesirable isobutylene oligomers is observed. The acid strength of the sulfonic acid sites has also been found to be an important factor affecting the catalytic performance of these materials. 相似文献

This paper presents a study on the application of granite fines (GF) originating from the granite industry in the Northwest of Spain for the construction of embankment fills. A numerical solver was developed to simulate the unsaturated consolidation of a compacted earthfill (water content close to saturation), introducing the effect of secondary compression, and reproducing the construction process to be followed. The results obtained are quite encouraging, since settlements were found to be within an acceptable range. Nevertheless, the results also showed the need to improve the experimental characterization of the “in-situ” preconsolidation of the GF before using them in real applications. 相似文献

Oils and asphaltenes derived from direct extraction and several mild depolymerization processes have been studied. The asphaltenes have been fractionated by column adsorption chromatography (with deactivated silica gel) and benzene, THF and MeOH were used in sequence as eluothropic series. Clear chemical separation between one aromatic and two polar fractions has been obtained, giving high percentages recovery. The fractions have been characterized by VPO, FT-IR, 1H-NMR and elemental analysis. Several structural parameters of oils have been calculated. These oils can be assimilated to equivalent average hydrocarbons having between 10 and 20 carbon atoms and an aromatic carbon percentage oscillating between 47 and 66%. In general, the degree of substitution in aromatic rings is low and the presence of phenolic groups is limited. The majority of the carbons are aromatic and these rings show low degrees of condensation. 相似文献

The feasibility of the use of an electrocoagulation system (EC) directly powered by a photovoltaic (PV) array has been demonstrated. The model pollutant used was a reactive textile dye Remazol Red RB 133. It has been proved that PV array configuration is a factor of great influence on the use of the generated power. The optimum PV array configuration must be reshaped depending on the instantaneous solar irradiation. A useful and effective methodology to adjust the EC–PV system operation conditions depending on solar irradiation has been proposed. Lubrication properties of non-adsorbing polymer solutions in soft elastohydrodynamic (EHD) contacts 总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
The in-use performance and processing of many consumer products in the food, home and personal care industries are dependent on their tribological properties. A major component of these products is often a high molecular weight polymer, which is typically used to thicken aqueous systems. Polymer solutions tend to be non-Newtonian, and in particular their viscosity varies with shear rate, such that it is difficult to predict their friction or hydrodynamic film-forming behaviour. The present work relates the tribology of aqueous polymer solutions to their rheological properties in thin films in ‘soft’ contacts at high shear rates. The friction properties of three types of polymers in aqueous solution, polyethylene oxide, PEO; xanthan gum, XG; and guar gum, GG, have been studied as a function of polymer concentration over a wide range of entrainment speeds in a point contact formed between silicone rubber and steel. This has enabled the boundary lubrication and isoviscous-elastic lubrication properties of the solutions to be investigated using both hydrophilic and hydrophobic silicone surfaces.It is found that the friction vs. entrainment speed dependence follows the shape of a classical Stribeck curve. In general, a lower friction is observed with increasing polymer concentration in the mixed-regime. Using scaling factors for the entrainment speed, we have shown that this decrease in friction is likely to be due to viscous effects and that the scaling factors represent effective high shear rate viscosities. In the case of PEO and XG, and GG at low concentrations, a good correlation is found between this effective viscosity and the apparent viscosity measured at the highest shear rates attainable with the available rheometer. However, for GG at concentrations above 0.2%, the effective viscosity decreases with increasing polymer content.The three polymers do not significantly reduce friction in the boundary regime and in general give essentially the same response as water when an effective viscosity is taken into account. However, a slight increase in friction in comparison to pure water has been observed for XG and GG on hydrophobic surfaces. It is suspected that this may be due to a blocking of fluid entrainment, or possibly exclusion of polymer from the contact, due to the large hydrodynamic volume and rigid nature of the two biopolymers. Finally, for PEO solutions with full-film elastohydrodynamic conditions were reached, the measured friction coefficient of the film correlated quite well with the value calculated from the effective viscosity. 相似文献
