Kinetics of swelling and sorption behavior of copolymers (based on linseed oil, styrene, divinylbenzene, and acrylic acid via cationic and thermal polymerization) is studied in tetrahydrofuran (THF) at different temperatures. The values of n in the transport equation are found to be below 0.4, showing non‐Fickian or pseudo‐Fickian transport in the polymers. The dependence of diffusion coefficient on the composition and temperature has also been studied for the linseed oil‐based polymers. The diffusion coefficient in cationic samples decreases with an increase in the oil contents in the samples. In case of thermal samples, the diffusion coefficient first increases up to 30% oil contents and then decreases. The diffusion coefficient decreases with an increase in temperature for all of the linseed oil polymer samples. The sorption coefficient increases with an increase in the oil contents for all samples. The crosslink density (calculated from the THF swelling) ranges from 20.16 to 92.34 × 106 mol/cm3 for cationic samples and 20.62 to 86.01 × 106 mol/cm3 for thermal samples. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The solvent‐resistance properties of the montmorillonite‐filled conjugated linseed oil‐based nanocomposites are studied in tetrahydrofuran through equilibrium swelling method at different temperatures. The values of “n” in solvent transport equation are found to be below “0.5,” showing the non‐Fickian diffusion in the polymer. The dependence of the diffusion coefficient on the composition, percentage of clay, and temperature has been studied for nanocomposite samples. The diffusion coefficient increases with an increase in the clay contents and temperature. Ultra-fine grained copper with a large amount of nano-scale twin boundaries has high mechanical strength and maintains normal electrical conductivity. The combination of these properties may lead to promising applications in future Si microelectronic technology, especially as interconnect material for air-gap and free-standing copper technologies. Based on first principles calculations of total energy and in-situ stress measurements, high stress followed by stress relaxation during the Cu film deposition seems to have contributed to nanotwin formation. Nanoindentation studies have shown a larger hardness for copper with a higher nanotwin density. The effect of Cu nanotwin boundaries on grain growth was investigated by scanning electron microscopy (SEM), electron backscatter diffraction (EBSD) and transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The presence of a high density of nanotwin boundaries may improve the reliability of Cu interconnects.  相似文献

Pb(Zr,Ti)O3 (PZT) thin films deposited on insulating ZrO2 buffered silicon wafer are intended to be employed for in-plane polarized piezoelectric MEMS devices. Multi-target reactive sputtering system for large area deposition of in-situ crystallized PZT thin films and the ZrO2 buffer layer has been employed. The interface analysis of multilayer structures by high resolution transmission microscope, X-ray diffraction, optical refraction, and absorption spectra studies has been presented. At a substrate temperature of 520°C and excess lead deposition condition, the formation of a PZT superstructure has been revealed. The substrate temperature of 580°C leads to the crystallization of PZT directly into a single phase perovskite crystal structure. A pronounced Urbach behavior in our PZT thin films has been observed by optical absorption studies. The surface roughness of PZT films deposited on a ZrO2 buffer layer is much higher than that on conducting platinized silicon wafer.  相似文献

The photocatalytic hydrogen generation is a novel, eco-friendly and favourable method for production of green and clean energy using light energy. In this direction, we report low-temperature ionothermal method for the preparation of TiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) using methoxy ethyl methyl imidazolium tris (pentafluoroethyl) trifluoro phosphate (MOEMINtf2) as an ionic liquid (IL) at 120°C for 1 day. The synthesized nanomaterials were examined using different spectrochemical methods like UV-DRS, XRD, FT-IR, TEM, BET and TGA-DTA techniques. The mixed phase TiO2 is obtained with 81.7% of anatase and 18.3% of rutile phase by the XRD studies, and average crystallite size is found to be ∼7 nm. The stretching of Ti-O bond (∼555 cm−1) and few other bands related to ionic liquid were confirmed by FTIR spectrum. The band gap energy was observed to be ∼3.38 eV by UV-DRS analysis. TEM images reveal spherical shape with an average particles size of about 10 nm. Photocatalytic H2 generation was carried out using TiO2 NPs and observed the generation of 553 μmol h−1 g−1 via water splitting reaction. Furthermore, the prepared TiO2 NPs employed for the photocatalytic degradation of methylene blue dye (84.54%), and photoluminescence studies confirms the obtained material can be used in optoelectronic applications with green emission.  相似文献

In this research study, a comprehensive effort has been made to functionalize silicon carbide particles using the acidic oxidation with nitric acid to obtain homogeneous stabilized distribution of activated SiC particles within a polymer matrix, and develop functionalized silicon carbide (f-SiC) particle reinforced polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) based cross-linked composite. After fabrication of functionalized silicon carbide (f-SiC) particle reinforced polyvinyl alcohol based cross-linked composite with varying f-SiC weight percentages of PVA (0%, 1%, 2%, 3%, and 4%) were placed to various investigations. Processed samples are initially examined based by the physical tests (water absorption tests), followed by mechanical test (tensile test) and then micro-structural tests (scanning electron microscopy). Lastly, thermal tests were also concluded which involved the dynamic mechanical, differential thermal and thermo gravimetric analysis. The cross-linked polyvinyl alcohol-based composite with 2 weight % of f-SiC content is observed to be the superlative of all the compositions under this research study that was confirmed by the mechanical and micro-structural tests. This composite material shows high storage modulus with visco-elastic behavior, therefore, the material can be utilized to diminish the transmission of noise, as a shock absorber and vibration isolator.  相似文献

Given the ubiquity of handwriting and mathematical content in human transactions, machine recognition of handwritten mathematical text and symbols has become a domain of great practical scope and significance. Recognition of mathematical expression (ME) has remained a challenging and emerging research domain, with mathematical symbol recognition (MSR) as a requisite step in the entire recognition process. Many variations in writing styles and existing dissimilarities among the wide range of symbols and recurring characters make the recognition tasks strenuous even for Optical Character Recognition. The past decade has witnessed the emergence of recognition techniques and the peaking interest of several researchers in this evolving domain. In light of the current research status associated with recognizing handwritten math symbols, a systematic review of the literature seems timely. This article seeks to provide a complete systematic analysis of recognition techniques, models, datasets, sub-stages, accuracy metrics, and accuracy details in an extracted form as described in the literature. A systematic literature review conducted in this study includes pragmatic studies until the year 2021, and the analysis reveals Support Vector Machine (SVM) to be the most dominating recognition technique and symbol recognition rate to be most frequently deployed accuracy measure and other interesting results in terms of segmentation, feature extraction and datasets involved are vividly represented. The statistics of mathematical symbols-related papers are shown, and open problems are identified for more advanced research. Our study focused on the key points of earlier research, present work, and the future direction of MSR.

Seam strength prediction using loop strength has been found to be more accurate and has been consistently used by researchers over last few decades. But the testing gauge length for loop strength has not been standardized as in the case of thread tensile strength. In this paper, effect of gauge length on thread tensile strength and elongation in loop form and straight form has been studied. 40 tex and 60 tex mercerized cotton and spun polyester threads are used for the study. It is observed that there is no significant change in the loop strength of the threads as the gauge length increases, whereas the tensile strength of all threads decreases with the increase in gauge length. Elongation % is found to change significantly in both loop and straight form during tensile testing. Therefore, it is concluded that loop strength tests can be carried out at any gauge length unlike tensile testing of straight threads.  相似文献

Bearings which have been properly designed with respect to the provision of a hydrodynamic oil film can sometimes fail by overheating. Hence the complete analysis of journal bearings requires the evaluation of friction and oil flow. Plain partial journal bearings of finite length with a turbulent hydrodynamic film of a newtonian lubricant were analysed to obtain the coefficient of friction and the total oil flow. The coefficient of friction, which is a performance characteristic, is presented analytically in the closed form. The total oil flow through superlaminar bearings is also considered as a bearing performance characteristic. All the results of interest are dimensionless and available in a closed form which is simple yet exact over the wide range of parameters involved.  相似文献
