A molecular absorption method is proposed for the determination of phosphorus in biodiesel. The samples are mineralized using an ashing procedure at 550 °C followed by dissolution of the residue. The analytical procedure is based on the formation of a blue molybdenum complex. 1-amino-2-naphthol-4-sulfonic acid is used as reducing agent. The method was applied to biodiesel samples prepared from soy, canola and sunflower oils and from bovine fat. The limit of detection is 0.57 mg P kg−1 and the limit of quantification is 1.7 mg P kg−1. The observed mean relative standard deviation is about 5%. The simplicity of the procedure added to its precision, accuracy and low cost suggest that it is an excellent option for the determination of phosphorus in biodiesel.  相似文献

Abstract—In this article, a method based on the application of the discrete wavelet transform to the instantaneous reactive power signal, for diagnosing the occurrence of broken rotor bars in induction motors operating under time-varying load conditions, is presented. This method is based on the decomposition of the instantaneous reactive power signal, from which wavelet approximation and detail coefficients are extracted. The energy evaluation of known bandwidths permits to de?ne a fault severity factor. This method has been tested through the simulation of an induction motor using a mathematical model based on the winding-function approach. These simulation results are complemented by experimental tests conducted on an induction motor with several faulty rotors that can be interchanged and both simulation and experimental results have shown the effectiveness of the proposed method for broken rotor bars diagnosis in induction motors even under time-varying load conditions.  相似文献

Objective

To develop an analysis method that is sensitive to non-model-conform responses often encountered in ultra-high field presurgical planning fMRI. Using the consistency of time courses over a number of experiment repetitions, it should exclude low quality runs and generate activation maps that reflect the reliability of responses.

Materials and methods

7 T fMRI data were acquired from six healthy volunteers: three performing purely motor tasks and three a visuomotor task. These were analysed with the proposed approach (UNBIASED) and the GLM.

Results

UNBIASED results were generally less affected by false positive results than the GLM. Runs that were identified as being of low quality were confirmed to contain little or no activation. In two cases, regions were identified as activated in UNBIASED but not GLM results. Signal changes in these areas were time-locked to the task, but were delayed or transient.

Conclusion

UNBIASED is shown to be a reliable means of identifying consistent task-related signal changes regardless of response timing. In presurgical planning, UNBIASED could be used to rapidly generate reliable maps of the consistency with which eloquent brain regions are activated without recourse to task timing and despite modified hemodynamics.

There is recognition that both stress and immune responses are important factors in a variety of neurological disorders. Moreover, there is an important role of several neurotransmitters that connect these factors to several neurological diseases, with a special focus in this paper on serotonin. Accordingly, it is known that imbalances in stressors can promote a variety of neuropsychiatric or neurodegenerative pathologies. Here, we discuss some facts that link major depressive disorder, Alzheimer’s, and Parkinson’s to the stress and immune responses, as well as the connection between these responses and serotonergic signaling. These are important topics of investigation which may lead to new or better treatments, improving the life quality of patients that suffer from these conditions.  相似文献

Multiwalled carbon nanotubes of 0.2% weight fraction are used as a sensory network for detecting and characterizing the damage of particulate epoxy composites under shear loading conditions. Three different weight fractions of carboxyl‐terminated butadiene acrylonitrile copolymer rubber [10 parts per hundred of epoxy resin (phr), 20 phr, and 30 phr] are used for toughening a thermoset epoxy composite. The electrical response of the specimens is measured, nearest the central shearing plane, using a four‐circumferential ring probe technique in conjunction with a high‐resolution data acquisition system. A collection of the electromechanical response results are reported with respect to the shear strain. The resistance changes observed under shear loading are related to nonlinear deformation mechanisms, void initiation, and growth around rubber particulate. With increasing rubber content, the strength of the material decreases and a greater drop in resistance is recorded as a result of decreased distance between neighboring carbon nanotubes (CNTs) due to declustering and straightening of molecular chains of host matrix. In the end, a comparison for 30 phr composites under shear loading with that of tensile and compression loading conditions is presented. For initial deformation, there is no change in resistance under shear loading condition; however, the significant resistance change can be noticed under both tension and compression. The specimen under shear loading conditions experiences smaller decrease in resistance when compared with both tension and compression. However, the decrease in resistance is higher for compression due to higher decrease in distance between neighboring CNTs. POLYM. CO2 stripping during fermentation is a possible way of increasing the production of ethanol in distilleries. Ethanol, water, and carbon dioxide are the main compounds in the exiting gas mixture. To date, few studies have proposed the use of absorption to recover ethanol from this mixture or have considered different absorbents for this purpose. This work evaluates different absorbent solutions used to recover ethanol vapor from CO2 gas. Glycols and glycerol can provide easier separation of ethanol than water, with lower distillation energy demand. A statistical experimental design was used to compare the mass transfers of ethanol from the gas phase to the liquid phase, using solutions of glycerol, ethylene glycol, and diethylene glycol. High concentrations of these substances did not favor the absorption of ethanol. The best results were achieved with 25% absorbent solutions, which offered better options than water for the recovery of ethanol from CO2 gas in absorption columns and could increase the productivity of first generation bioethanol production.  相似文献

In this work, the use of a laboratory twin-screw extruder was evaluated to process ultrahigh molar mass polyethylene and composites with carbon nanotubes (CNTs). Commercial polymer samples with lubricant (1%) and different percentages (0.01%, 0.05%, and 0.1%) of pure, oxidized, and chemically surface treated multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) were evaluated. The results showed that polymer melting and crystallization temperatures were not affected by CNTs, although an increase in the degree of crystallinity in all nanocomposites was observed along with a decrease in crystal size. Therefore, CNTs behaved as nucleating agents. All ultrahigh molar mass polyethylene (UHMWPE)/CNT samples showed increased initial degradation temperature, although this was not very great when introducing acetylated and stearic acid modified CNTs. Both oxidized CNTs and stearic acid CNTs did not markedly improve the composites' mechanical properties. Therefore, the nanocomposites containing pure CNTs and most of those with acetylated CNTs resulted in higher reinforcement for UHMWPE. The addition of the lubricant allowed the polymer matrix to be processed in the extruder, whereas the increase in CNT content in UHMWPE improved the stiffness of the material. © 2019 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
