The influence of surface roughness on the efficiency of a cyclic potentiodynamic passivation (CPP) method employed to increase the general and pitting corrosion resistance of 316LVM stainless steel was investigated. The results show that a decrease in surface roughness of both the surface on which the passive film was formed naturally and by the CPP method, results in an increase in general corrosion resistance of the material, while for the CPP-modified surface, a notable increase in pitting corrosion resistance was also observed. It was further demonstrated that the CPP method is highly effective in increasing the general and pitting corrosion resistance of 316LVM, and that its efficiency does not depend on the surface roughness. 相似文献

In today’s semiconductor industry, where time-to-profit is a critical factor to remain competitive, missing the tight market
window might have serious implications including the risk of product cancellation. This places severe pressure on every aspect
related to the design and the verification of semiconductor chips to get the design ready for manufacturing in the shortest
time possible. To avoid the need for costly corrective steps and silicon re-spins during post-silicon verification, thorough
pre-silicon verification is essential to catch any design fault and estimate the design overall reliability before the design
is manufactured. This paper presents a novel EDA tool that helps the verification team improve the verification process in
several ways. It can be used to generate useful statistics regarding the complexity and the coverage of the created test vectors.
Experimental results prove that the verification team can successfully use the proposed tool to set their target coverage
and intelligently select the set of test vectors that achieves that target using the minimum number of computing cycles.

Over the past decade, gut microbiota dysbiosis has been linked to many health disorders; however, the detailed mechanism of this correlation remains unclear. Gut microbiota can communicate with the host through immunological or metabolic signalling. Recently, microbiota-released extracellular vesicles (MEVs) have emerged as significant mediators in the intercellular signalling mechanism that could be an integral part of microbiota-host communications. MEVs are small membrane-bound vesicles that encase a broad spectrum of biologically active compounds (i.e., proteins, mRNA, miRNA, DNA, carbohydrates, and lipids), thus mediating the horizontal transfer of their cargo across intra- and intercellular space. Efficient use of the available bandwidth and power resources for real-time multimedia transmission with high data rate and quality of service guarantee is one of the main challenges for next generation wireless systems. In image and video applications, the reception quality is highly sensitive to transmission delay, data loss, and error performance. Therefore, feasible transmission techniques over realistic channel conditions and detection methods are required to meet the increasing demands of multimedia services. In this paper, adaptive real-time communication (ARTC) system based superposition coding and layered detection is proposed for higher capacity visual data transmission over Rayleigh fading channel with unequal error protection (UEP). In the transmitter side, the source data is splitted into two streams depending on their importance, high priority and low priority. These two bit streams are modulated individually using different adjustable power allocation ratio according to partial feedback of channel state information with a constraint of total transmitted power during every symbol period. The received signal is detected using low complexity layered receiver with successive interference cancellation. To evaluate the system performance, constellation constrained capacity formula is derived. Under same resources of bandwidth, power, and time, extensive simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of proposed ARTC scheme and shows significant improvement in capacity and bit-error-rate compared with the conventional direct single stream transmission and hierarchical modulation. Furthermore, the unequal importance characteristics of visual data are well exploited to attain reliable communication with UEP property. 相似文献

CAS-BUS: A Test Access Mechanism and a Toolbox Environment for Core-Based System Chip Testing 总被引:2,自引:0,他引:2
As System on a Chip (SoC) testing faces new challenges, some new test architectures must be developed. This paper describes a Test Access Mechanism (TAM) named CAS-BUS that solves some of the new problems the test industry has to deal with. This TAM is scalable, flexible and dynamically reconfigurable. The CAS-BUS architecture is compatible with the IEEE P1500 standard proposal in its current state of development, and is controlled by Boundary Scan features.This basic CAS-BUS architecture has been extended with two independent variants. The first extension has been designed in order to manage SoC made up with both wrapped cores and non wrapped cores with Boundray Scan features. The second deals with a test pin expansion method in order to solve the I/O bandwidth problem. The proposed solution is based on a new compression/decompression mechanism which provides significant results in case of non correlated test patterns processing. This solution avoids TAM performance degradation.These test architectures are based on the CAS-BUS TAM and allow trade-offs to optimize both test time and area overhead. Channels' correlation has direct impact to degrade the capacity and reliability of multiple‐input multiple‐output (MIMO) systems considerably. In this paper, new signal constellation designs are investigated to mitigate fading correlation and maximize the capacity and error performance of multiuser MIMO (MU‐MIMO) over correlated channels, which is a major research challenge. Two methods are studied in a novel constellation constrained MU‐MIMO approach, namely, unequal power allocation and rotated constellation. Based on principles of maximizing the minimum Euclidean distance (dmin) of composite received signals, users' data can be recovered using maximum likelihood joint detection irrespective of correlation values. Compared with the identical constellation scenario in conventional MU‐MIMO, it is shown that constellation rearrangement of transmitted signals has direct impact to resolve the detection ambiguity when the channel difference is not sufficient, particularly in moderate to high correlations. Extensive analysis and simulation results demonstrate the superiority of proposed technique to capture most of the promised gains of multiantenna systems and application for future wireless communications. Triboelectric and Piezoelectric Effects in a Combined Tribo‐Piezoelectric Nanogenerator Based on an Interfacial ZnO Nanostructure 下载免费PDF全文
In this contribution, combined triboelectric and piezoelectric generators (TPEG) with a sandwich structure of aluminum‐polydimethylsiloxane/polyvinylidene fluoride composite‐carbon (Al‐PPCF‐Carbon) are fabricated for the purpose of mechanical energy harvesting. Improved by the surface modification of PPCF with zinc oxide (ZnO) nanorods through a hydrothermal method, the TPEG generates an open‐circuit voltage (Voc) of ≈40 V, a short‐circuit current (Isc) of 0.28 μA with maximum power density of ≈70 mWm?2, and maximum conversion efficiency of 34.56%. Subsequently, in order to understand the transduction mechanism of the triboelectric and piezoelectric effects, analyses focusing on the potential composition ratio in the final output and the impact of ZnO interfacial nanostructure are carried out. The observed potential ratio between triboelectric and piezoelectric effects is 12.75:1 and the highest potential improvement by ZnO nanorods of 21.8 V is achieved by the TPEG fabricated with spacer. Finally, the relationships between the voltage, power density, conversion efficiency, and the external load resistances are also discussed. Overall, the fabricated TPEG is proved to be a simple and effective nanogenerator in mechanical energy conversion with enhanced output potential and conversion efficiency. 相似文献

Hemodialysis is one of the most water and energy‐hungry medical procedures, and thus represents a clear opportunity where improvements should be made concerning the consumption and wastage of water. Three levels were investigated on which there are potential savings: the precise adjustment of water production according to specific needs, the reuse of reverse osmosis rejected water, and finally the huge volumes of post‐patient dialysate effluent. The “AURAL” (Association pour l′Utilisation du Rein Artificiel à Lyon), main unit in Lyon, was the site of investigation for this study, which cares for 173 chronic hemodialysis patients. Evaluation of the 3 levels described earlier was undertaken on this particular building, and on the water treatment currently used. Volumes of produced water can be improved by different hydraulic systems or by adjusting the pure water conductivity used for dialysis. Concerning the reject water, reuse for building sanitation became the focus of further attention. The technical feasibility, volume of saved water, and applicable work costs were considered. The results suggest that out of a possible 2834 m3/year of reject water, 1200 m3/year may be reused and return on investment recovered within 5.8 years. Finally, the reprocessing and feasibility of reuse of dialysate effluent were investigated. Initial calculations show that although technical solutions are available, such processing of the wastewater production is not profitable in the short term. Regarding the significant prior authorization and risk management analysis necessary for such a project, this avenue was pursued no further. From the perspective of a “green dialysis,” the reuse of reject water into sanitation is both viable and profitable in our unit, and must be the next step of our project. More widely, improvements can be made by defining a more precise range of pure water conductivity for dialysis and by applying reuse water project to new or to be renovated units. 相似文献
