Enhanced linear dynamic range of asymmetric Fabry-Pe/spl acute/rot modulator/detector

An InGaAsP multiple-quantum-well asymmetric Fabry-Pe/spl acute/rot modulator/detector has been developed for radio-over-fiber systems. The measured bandwidth is more than 6 GHz and the total insertion loss is 7.1 dB. The property of nonlinearity and spurious-free dynamic range (SFDR) has been studied theoretically. By optimizing the operation optical wavelength and bias voltage based on the numerical simulation, fifth-order nonlinearity dominates the intermodulation distortion and an SFDR of 101 dB/spl middot/Hz/sup 4/5/ has been achieved experimentally.     

Direct from polyacrylamide gel infrared laser desorption/ionization

The direct combination of gel electrophoresis and infrared laser desorption/ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry has been demonstrated. We present results for infrared laser desorption and ionization mass spectrometry of peptides and proteins directly from a polyacrylamide gel without the addition of a matrix. Analyte molecules up to 6 kDa were ionized directly from a vacuum-dried sodium dodecyl sulfate-polyacrylamide gel after electrophoretic separation. Mass spectra were obtained at the wavelength of 2.94 microm, which is consistent with IR absorption by N-H and O-H stretch vibrations of water and other constituents of the gel. A 5-nmol quantity of peptide or protein was loaded per gel slot, although it was possible to obtain mass spectra from a small fraction of the gel spot. This technique shows promise for the direct identification of both parent and fragment masses of proteins contained in polyacrylamide gels.     

Full-Duplex DOCSIS/WirelessDOCSIS Fiber–Radio Network Employing Packaged AFPMs as Optical/Electrical Transducers

A hybrid fiber-radio access network architecture for simultaneous wireline and wireless transmissions of data-over-cable service interface specification (DOCSIS) signals is presented. An all-optical harmonic up-conversion technique using a dual-drive Mach-Zehnder modulator provides the downstream optical signal modulated not only at the intermediate frequency in the 600- to 900-MHz band for wireline transmission but also at the up-converted frequency in the 5.45- to 5.75-GHz band for wireless transmission. An InGaAsP/InGaAsP multiple-quantum-well asymmetric Fabry-Perot modulator/detector has been designed, fabricated, and packaged and has been employed in the base station (BS) as an optical/electrical transducer, simultaneously providing the functions of optical intensity modulation and photodetection. At the BS, the DOCSIS signals are recovered at the wireline and wireless frequencies for the respective feeding of a cable access network or a fixed wireless access network in a highly flexible approach. Full-duplex operation has been demonstrated for both access types in an indoor laboratory environment. In a subsequent small-scale field trial, real-life Internet traffic provided by a local community antenna television system operator has been transported over the present hybrid fiber-radio access network architecture, and simultaneous transmission of both DOCSIS and digital television signals has also been performed.     

Sr Microalloying for Refining Grain Size of AZ91D Magnesium Alloy

The grain refining process of an AZ91D Mg alloy by Sr addition was studied and the heterogeneous nucleating particles of α-Mg were investigated by electron probe microanalysis （EPMA）. With 0.6 wt% Sr addition, the mean grain size of AZ91D alloy was refined from 235.4μm to 52.5 μm at the one-half radius of the ingot. The morphology of primary crystal changed from a sixford symmetrical shape to a petallike shape, Mg-Sr-Al-Fe-Mn heterogeneous nucleating particles were observed at the grain centers and Sr solute atoms presented segregation along the grain boundaries. Grain refinement was facilitated by both the Mg-Sr-Al- Fe-Mn nucleating particles and the Sr solute atoms, and the former played a dominate role in the process.

智能配用电园区技术集成方案

面对分布式电源、分布式储能装置、电动汽车的规模化接入以及用户需求侧响应等新的边界条件,配用电园区的功能和业务逐步向交叉整合方向发展,而技术集成是实现上述目标的基础。介绍了智能配用电园区技术集成的总体研究思路,围绕设备与设备、设备与系统及系统与系统3个方面给出了具体的集成方法,探讨了园区集成的信息安全防护问题。该技术集成方案将在中新天津生态城得到应用。     

PSTN在农网调度自动化中的应用

农网调度自动化系统通信通道的建设,一直是中西部地区农网自动化建设中面临的一个难题。文中提出了基于中国电信公共交换电话网（PSTN）建设农网远动通信通道的思路,并探讨了基于PSTN电力远动数据传输的可靠性、安全性等令人关注的问题以及解决的技术性手段。吉林省实际应用情况表明,基于PSTN的农网通信通道安全可靠、经济实用、建设周期短、租用费用低、维护方便、运行可靠稳定,是中西部地区农网调度自动化系统建设可选、可行的远动通信通道。
