\({\upvarepsilon }\)-Polylysine is an effective food preservative. In this paper, the \({\upbeta }\)-relaxation time of \({\upvarepsilon }\)-polylysine aqueous solutions, which represents the rotational speed of a single water molecule, was measured by broadband dielectric spectroscopy at various temperatures and concentrations. The broadband dielectric spectrum of each sample containing water ranging from 35 wt% to 75 wt% at temperatures ranging from \(0\,^{\circ }\hbox {C}\) to \(25\,^{\circ }\hbox {C}\) was measured using a co-axial semirigid cable probe. The measured dielectric spectra of the samples were composed of several Debye relaxation peaks, including a shortest single molecular rotational relaxation time of water, the \({\upbeta }\)-relaxation time, longer than that of pure water. This result represents that \({\upvarepsilon }\)-polylysine suppresses the molecular kinetics of water. It is also found that the \({\upbeta }\)-relaxation time of an \({\upvarepsilon }\)-polylysine solution that contained more than 35 wt% water showed a typical Arrhenius plot in the temperature range from \(0\,^{\circ }\hbox {C}\) to \(25\,^{\circ }\hbox {C}\). The activation energy of each sample depends on the water content ratio of the sample. As indicated by its long \({\upbeta }\)-relaxation time, \({\upvarepsilon }\)-polylysine is expected to possess high abilities of suppressing freezing and ice coarsening. 相似文献

Five fresh beefcut samples were divided into 10 pieces, respectively, vacuum-packaged and stored at 2 degrees C for up to 6 weeks. The average pH values of five pieces from five beef samples were 5.62 +/- 0.04 at the start of storage and 5.12 +/- 0.07 after 6 weeks of storage. The pieces were homogenized, diluted and cultivated at weekly intervals on glucose-blood-liver (BL), de Man Rogosa and Sharpe (MRS) and trypticase soya (TS) agars at 7 degrees C for 10-14 days. From plates with 30-300 colonies, or the highest number if below 30, 15 colonies were randomly picked from each of the three media used for each beef sample. Based on morphologies, SDS-PAGE whole-cell protein profiles and physio-chemical characteristics, a total of 1493 strains isolated were identified as Brochothrix thermosphacta (64), Carnobacterium divergens (79), Carnobacterium piscicola (27), Lactobacillus algidus (637), Lactobacillus sp. (4), Lactococcus piscium (270), Leuconostoc gelidum (375), Acinetobacter (3), Aeromonas (1), Bacillus (10), Corynebacterium (3), Enterobacteriaceae (1), Pseudomonas (13) or Psychrobacter (6). A wider range of organisms was isolated from TS (13 organisms) and BL (7) agars than from MRS agar (3). Leuc. gelidum, Lc. piscium and L. algidas increased in numbers during the first 3 weeks of storage from about 5 x 10(3) cfu/g to the level of about 10(8) cfu/g and persisted at this level thereafter. C. divergens and C. piscicola were inconsistently detected, but seemed to persist at the relatively low level of about 5 x 10(7) cfu/g during the last 3 weeks of storage. B. thermosphacta increased to the level of about 7 x 10(5) cfu/g during the first 2 weeks of storage, but was not detected thereafter. Polyanilines (PANIs) doped with several organic acids—maleic acid, squaric acid and 2‐propynoic acid—were chemically synthesized in good yields, while PANI doped with 2,6‐dihydroxybenzoic acid did not form under similar polymerization conditions. The resulting PANIs were characterized by spectroscopic and thermal analysis, and it was found that the spectroscopic and thermal properties of these PANIs were affected by the type of dopant ion. Formation of different oxidation states of these PANIs were confirmed by the spectroscopic (UV‐visible and FT‐IR) analysis. Thermogravimetric analysis suggested that PANI doped with maleic acid indicated higher thermal stability than those with the other dopants. The yield and conductivity of PANI doped with maleic acid were found to be higher than those with the other dopants. The applicability of a neural network to acoustic emission (AE) is presented. It is shown that the shape of the simulated source waveform using piezoelectric ceramics is steplike, similar to that of mode I crack extension, and its rise-time can be varied by the resonance frequency in the thickness direction. The results imply that the simulated source can provide learning waveforms for the network. Actual AE waveforms were also acquired by conducting a tensile test of a chevron-notched graphite specimen. It was demonstrated that the appropriate source waveform associated with mode I crack extension was successfully determined by the network taught with simulated waveforms. 相似文献

Construction of a highly accurate segment companding voice codec is described in this paper. It is shown that an ideal precompressor placed in front of the segment coder enables moderating the accuracy required by 4 times in the 13-segment coder and by 8 times in the 15-segment coder. Two precompressor circuits with a negligible accuracy degradation are proposed and their performances are thoroughly discussed. It is shown that highly accurate sequential feedback segment companding coders, such as the 8-bit 13- or 15-segment coder, can be realized easily with these precompressors. 相似文献

A chemiluminescence (CL) was observed immediately after the addition of luminol to thioglycollate-elicited ICR mouse peritoneal macrophages (M phi) that had been incubated overnight with recombinant murine interferon-gamma (IFN-gamma) and lipopolysaccharides (LPS). The intensity of this CL was closely correlated with the cytotoxic activity of M phi. NG-monomethyl-L-arginine (L-NMMA), an inhibitor of nitric oxide (NO) synthase, inhibited the induction of this CL, and L-arginine restored the L-NMMA-induced inhibition. These results suggest that NO is directly involved in the induction of CL. However, we found that immune complexes are required for the induction of CL as well as NO. 相似文献

Enhancement of the Seebeck coefficient (S ) without reducing the electrical conductivity (sigma) is essential to realize practical thermoelectric materials exhibiting a dimensionless figure of merit (ZT=S2 x sigma x T x kappa-1) exceeding 2, where T is the absolute temperature and kappa is the thermal conductivity. Here, we demonstrate that a high-density two-dimensional electron gas (2DEG) confined within a unit cell layer thickness in SrTiO(3) yields unusually large |S|, approximately five times larger than that of SrTiO(3) bulks, while maintaining a high sigma2DEG. In the best case, we observe |S|=850 microV K-1 and sigma2DEG=1.4 x 10(3) S cm-1. In addition, by using the kappa of bulk single-crystal SrTiO(3) at room temperature, we estimate ZT approximately 2.4 for the 2DEG, corresponding to ZT approximately 0.24 for a complete device having the 2DEG as the active region. The present approach using a 2DEG provides a new route to realize practical thermoelectric materials without the use of toxic heavy elements. 相似文献
